Throughout the entirety of his life, Tsugo had always been burdened by an unshakable sense of solitude.

From his earliest memories as a child, he had been engulfed by loneliness. Despite being born into wealth—his family residing within the walls of a lavish, spacious modern villa filled with every luxury a person could desire—Tsugo lacked what truly mattered: companionship. His material needs were fulfilled effortlessly, but his emotional needs were neglected.

His relationship with his older sister had always been distant, cold even. She never showed a shred of affection for her younger brother. Wrapped up in her own ambitions and self-importance, she regarded Tsugo as little more than a background character in the grand narrative of her own life.

At the mere age of five, Tsugo was sent off to an elite private academy, as expected of children from high-standing families. However, he struggled to forge friendships among his peers. While the other children bonded over games, flaunting their designer possessions and latest gadgets, or competing in trivial power plays of wealth, Tsugo found solace in something else entirely: literature. When he reached college age, his parents—ever fixated on appearances and prestige—pressured him to pursue a degree in Law, envisioning a high-status future for him as a successful attorney. Tsugo, however, rejected this path. His soul yearned for something more creative, something genuine. He wished to become a writer. His parents saw his refusal as a disgrace. His sister ridiculed him openly, labeling him a fool for throwing away a “respectable” future. She had enrolled in business studies, gaining admiration from their parents, while Tsugo became the family disappointment.

She glanced down at her notes and continued.

“The Android is fully waterproof, making it highly efficient for household tasks involving water, such as cleaning, cooking, and laundry, without any risk of short-circuiting or malfunction. Beyond domestic duties, the Android is capable of assisting with digital work—typing documents, managing files, transferring data—and much more. For those seeking a more personalized experience, custom-designed models are available for a higher fee, with delivery time dependent on the complexity of the request.”

The screen shifted to a sleek commercial, showcasing images of elegantly designed Androids performing household tasks with eerie precision.

Tsugo furrowed his brow, intrigued. “A Human Android?” he murmured to himself. He had never kept up with technological trends—it simply never interested him. But as the advertisement lingered, the idea began to settle in his mind. Perhaps... it wouldn’t be so bad to have some form of help. A silent assistant. A presence. Not human, but not entirely robotic either.

After much contemplation, Tsugo made the decision to visit the store in person. There, he was guided through the custom request process and commissioned a Human Android, designed specifically to his preferences. He was informed that he would be allowed to name the Android upon its completion.
