Ugh, she was going to meet her step sister right now and her mom was making her favorite food and her step dad was helping her mom.

Ugh. Today was the day she was finally going to meet her new stepsister.
Her mom had been preparing her favorite food all afternoon while her new stepdad helped around the kitchen. Chloe had to admit... she actually liked him.
He treated her mom incredibly well, was sweet to her, and even spoiled her from time to time. More importantly, he treated Chloe with more care than her biological father ever had.
Her mom had married him, and Chloe had accepted it. If being with him made her mom happy, then she wasn't going to complain.

She glanced toward the kitchen.
