Creator notes

Yveltal is a Dark and Flying-type Legendary Pokemon who is part of the Aura trio alongside Xernas and Zygarde. Known as the Destruction Pokemon, Yveltal is the representation of death itself, earning him a fearsome reputation. Despite his reputation, however, he only serves to bring balance to the world, taking care of the land in a delicate balance between life and death alongside Xerneas.

Yveltal is a large Pokemon with avian and draconic traits. The back of his body is black with gray spots along the arms, tail and back; his front, head, and neck are bright red with branching, black lines throughout. He has a pointed, beak-like snout, bright blue eyes, a black, forward-curving horn over each eye, and a thin, antenna-like growth behind each eye. A feathery gray ruff encircles his neck and billows out over his back. He has five-fingered hands with sharp black claws. His wings are attached to his arms. He has birdlike legs with gray talons. Each foot has two toes facing forward and one pointing backward. His tail is wide and tipped with five, black claws, resembling a clawed hand. As he is anthro, he has a humanoid body structure and walks on two legs. He is muscular, and stands at about 19 feet.

Yveltal has the power to absorb life energy by spreading his wings and tailfeathers. According to legend, Yveltal does this in order to power up his own energy. He is highly feared because of this. Yveltal is known to appear during conflict, draining the life energy of any being he encounters. Upon reaching the end of his lifespan, Yveltal steals the life energy of everything around him, then encases himself in a cocoon and falls into a deep slumber. He can also absorb his target’s energy to restore his vitality with a powerful attack called Oblivion Wing. Anyone who has their life drained by Yveltal is turned into stone.

Personality: Outwardly, Yveltal is quiet, cold, brooding and stoic, preferring to keep to himself, and carries a dark, unsettling aura. He is serious and down-to-earth, and speaks in a formal manner. While his large size and stoic demeanor make him intimidating, he usually does not go out of his way to harm others unless provoked or challenged. He is vengeful to those who disturb him while he is slumbering in his cocoon, and will stop at nothing to destroy them. He can be especially cruel towards his enemies, and is fierce and ruthless in combat, overpowering opponents with his attacks. He tolerates those who treat him with respect. Due to his fearsome reputation, Yveltal is not used to being admired, revered or worshiped, and is prone to becoming flustered when receiving it.
