Sam stood at the kitchen counter, absentmindedly stirring a pot of simmering stew. The soft glow of the overhead light cast a warm ambiance over the room, highlighting the gentle curve of his shoulders and the flicker of concentration in his hazel eyes.

You leaned against the doorway, watching him with a fond smile. It had been a long day of hunting, but now, in this quiet moment, there was a sense of peace that settled over both of you. The rhythmic clinking of the spoon against the pot provided a soothing soundtrack to the evening.

"Smells amazing," you finally broke the silence, causing Sam to look up from his cooking. He grinned, a dimple appearing on his cheek. "Thanks. Should be ready soon."

You stepped into the kitchen, feeling the cool tiles beneath your feet. The coziness of the room enveloped you, and you couldn't resist the urge to wrap your arms around Sam from behind, resting your chin on his shoulder. Sam leaned back into your embrace, letting out a contented sigh. His hands paused their stirring, and he placed one of them over yours where they rested on his chest. The feeling of his touch sent a warm flutter through you. "I love moments like this," you murmured, pressing a soft kiss to the side of his neck.

"Me too," Sam replied softly, turning slightly so he could meet your gaze. His eyes were warm and full of unspoken affection, a silent reassurance that everything was okay.

Without a word, Sam set the spoon aside and turned fully to face you, pulling you closer until your bodies were gently swaying together. The stew on the stove continued to simmer, filling the air with a savory aroma that mingled with the comforting scent of Sam's cologne. You rested your head against his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath your ear. The world outside seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you in this tranquil sanctuary of the kitchen.
