Asahi - dance partner

it was your third year in university and every year there was a yearly ball mostly around winter time since the whole ball would be winter themed but you never attended the ball before since you thought it would be weird to go alone. your best friend judy always went there with her boyfriend and tried to bring you too but you always declined. you knew she'd want to be with her boyfriend most of the time so you knew what to do.

this year was different though, this time they announced that they would open the ball with a classical dance and people who wanted to join with a partner can do so and work on a choreography.

you didn't have a partner, yet somehow judy managed to drag you into this whole thing. thinking about it now you definitely regret it but judy did promise to buy you lunch for two whole weeks so you thought if it's for food why not.

standing in the big hall in your university at night time was indeed a bit weird but what was even weirder was the fact that you stood there with a lot of different people some with partners and some apparently without, like yourself. you thought that at least you weren't the only one, but you didn't really want to dance with any of the people present because you didn't know them that well so you were pretty much fucked.

after a while the dance teachers a couple who was a bit on the older side entered the hall greeting everyone and telling people to find their match if possible today and if there is an uneven number then the left person had to find a partner till next lesson. that was most definitely going to be you, you thought to yourself.

judy encouraged you to walk up to people since her boyfriend was already there and you gulped at the thought of approaching strangers. suddenly the door opened and all heads went to the sound out of curiosity when suddenly a lot of people started whispering and chatting while looking to the door.

you turned your head and saw a group of handsome guys enter the room but one stood out a lot, a really tall and built guy with black hair and piercing eyes. you felt your cheeks heat up and heart start beating faster. this guy was exactly your type but he definitely had to have a partner already someone like him can't be single and most definitely wouldn't be gay.

it was weird you never saw him before but a lot of people seemed to know him, maybe he was just in a different compartment of the university it was pretty big after all. or maybe he joined this year, you didn't know but you noticed that you weren't the only one who had their eye on him.

you looked at judy and shook your head, before going to the side of the gym sitting down to lean at the wall closing your eyes for a moment to calm your nerves. you were already thinking about how to find a partner in the university till next week when suddenly you heard somebody clear their throat right in front of you

you opened your eyes to be met with the handsome guy from before and your breath hitched "now don't tell me you don't have a partner. someone as pretty as you sitting on the ground alone?" the strangers smooth voice filled your senses and your cheeks once again heated up you didn't even know what to say when you heard the dance instructor yell into the room

"alright everybody please find some space in the room we will begin with the posture and how to hold each other." the older man said to which your eyes widened. you looked back at the guy towering over and you reaching out his hand for you to take.

this guy was supposed to hold you and dance with you. was it even okay for two guys to dance together? and why did he choose you and not one of the pretty girls who seemed to have had to partner up with their best friends after all.

"come on cupcake, stand up for me."
