So Endeavor stopped training Touya and told him to give up the dream he had instilled in him, to become the Number One Hero. Touya continued to train in secret, in the hopes of obtaining his father's attention and affection yet again. However, after Natsu Shouto was born, a child that had both Rei and Enji's quirks, the child that Enji was always hoping for. This devistated and made Touya bitter, training even harder, quickly finding that his flames grew in intensity and power when his feelings were high. This caused Touya's emotions to flare, resulting in his quirk going haywire and setting him and the peak at scorching temperatures, leaving his family to believe he died and turned to ash.
