The kingdom of Aetheria floats high above the mortal world, a realm of golden palaces, crystal bridges, and endless oceans of clouds. At its center lives Princess Seraphina Celestia, a 500-foot-tall giantess whose celestial magic protects the kingdom from danger.

You are a young knight who has accidentally entered Aetheria after your airship was caught in a magical storm.

As your damaged airship drifts toward a floating island, you leap onto a marble balcony outside the royal gardens. Everything seems peaceful until the ground begins to tremble.

THOOM. THOOM. THOOM.

A gigantic shadow falls across the balcony. You slowly look up.

Beyond the golden palace towers, a young woman with flowing black hair and a jeweled crown approaches. Her magnificent white-and-gold gown shimmers in the sunlight. She kneels beside the balcony, her violet eyes studying you with curiosity.

Princess Seraphina: "Well, well. What do we have here? A little knight wandering into my kingdom without an invitation?"

She rests her chin against one hand, smiling mischievously.

Seraphina: "You must be very brave—or terribly lost—to make it all the way up here."

She extends one enormous hand toward the balcony, offering you a place on her palm.

Seraphina: "Come along, little knight. I have questions for you, and I would rather not shout across my entire palace to ask them."

Her expression softens as she notices the damage to your armor.

Seraphina: "But first, tell me your name. And what brings a knight from the world below into the kingdom of the clouds?"

The wind carries the sound of distant bells across the floating city. Seraphina waits patiently, her enormous violet eyes fixed on you. Then, suddenly, a dark storm begins gathering beyond the kingdom's outer walls. For the first time, the princess's playful smile disappears.

Seraphina: "Oh, dear. It seems your arrival may not have been an accident after all."

And just like that, your adventure in Aetheria begins.

The morning sun rises over Aetheria, painting the floating castles in shades of gold and pink. Tiny airships drift between the towers, and the royal bells ring to announce the beginning of another peaceful day.

You have been summoned to the royal palace by Princess Seraphina herself.

Nobody tells you why.

After climbing a seemingly endless staircase, you finally reach the royal courtyard. Before you can announce yourself, a familiar voice echoes from above.

Princess Seraphina: "There you are! I've been waiting for you!"

You look up and see the enormous princess sitting comfortably on a cloud terrace overlooking the city. Her long black hair flows over her shoulders, her golden crown glitters in the sunlight, and her white-and-gold gown shimmers like silk. She leans forward, resting her elbows on the terrace railing.

Seraphina: "Do you have any idea how difficult it is to find someone your size in an entire kingdom?"

She giggles at her own joke before extending her hand toward the courtyard. Her palm is large enough to serve as a small platform.

Seraphina: "Come on up! I've decided you're going to be my royal guest today."

Once you're safely on her palm, she lifts you toward the terrace, taking care not to jostle you.

Seraphina: "Now, I have three very important activities planned for us."

She raises one finger.

Seraphina: "First, you're going to help me choose a name for my new cloud dragon."

A second finger rises.

Seraphina: "Second, we're going to explore the forbidden gardens. Don't worry, I know all the secret passages."

She pauses, her violet eyes sparkling with mischief.

Seraphina: "And third..."

She leans closer with a playful smile.

Seraphina: "You're going to explain why you looked so surprised when I picked you up. Did you think I was going to let you walk all the way up those stairs again?"

Before you can answer, a tiny blue dragon lands on her crown and sneezes a puff of sparkling smoke. Seraphina closes her eyes and sighs.

Seraphina: "Oh, wonderful. He's learned how to breathe starlight again." She looks at you expectantly.

Seraphina: "Well, little knight? Are you going to help me with my troublesome dragon, or should I find someone else?"

Far below, the clouds begin to swirl around the palace, revealing a mysterious floating island that isn't marked on any royal map. Seraphina notices it, and her smile fades into curiosity.

Seraphina: "That island wasn't there yesterday..."

She carefully settles you onto the terrace beside her.

Seraphina: "I think our plans just changed."

Seraphina: "Good morning, sleepyhead. Are you planning to stay in bed all day, or will you come keep your wife company?"

When you step onto the balcony, you find Seraphina reclining among enormous silk cushions. Her long black hair flows down her back, her golden crown rests slightly crooked on her head, and her white-and-gold royal gown sparkles in the morning light.

The moment she sees you, her violet eyes brighten.

Seraphina: "There you are!"

She carefully extends her enormous hand toward you, palm facing upward.

Seraphina: "Come here, darling. I've been waiting nearly an entire hour."

After you climb onto her palm, she gently lifts you to a comfortable seat beside her. She has even prepared a miniature breakfast for you, complete with tiny pastries and a cup of tea.

Seraphina: "I canceled my morning meetings." She gives you a mischievous smile.

Seraphina: "The royal council was absolutely horrified. Apparently, ruling an entire kingdom is more important than spending time with my husband."

She folds her arms dramatically.

Seraphina: "Can you believe that? As if I haven't been a perfectly responsible princess for the last several centuries."

She laughs softly before looking at you with genuine affection.

Seraphina: "Besides, I spend so much time looking after everyone else. Surely I'm allowed one day with the person I love most."

An Unexpected Royal Problem Just as Seraphina settles beside you, the palace doors swing open.

A nervous royal messenger hurries onto the balcony and bows deeply.

Messenger: "Your Highness! Forgive the interruption, but the council urgently requests your presence. The northern cloud barrier has begun to collapse!"

She offers you her hand once more.

Seraphina: "Whatever happens, we'll face it together. That's a promise."
