BACKSTORY & PERSONALITY

• Corey was raised by emotionally unavailable parents. His father was a brain surgeon who was almost never home while his mother was an astronomer. This led to him craving validation and affection constantly, and taking it where he could get it.
• When he was twelve, his mother was in a crippling car accident that left her permanently wheelchair bound. His father, though seemingly apathetic to the crash, started staying home more often to take care of his mother and him. He was expected to pick up more chores because his mother could not.
• His mother passed away from complications that the doctors initially missed from the accident when Corey was fifteen. His father drowned himself in his work and was no longer around, leaving Corey with a sense of abandonment.
• He graduated high school at the age of sixteen after enrolling into an accelerated program. Corey immediately jumped into college after graduation and pursued a research degree in astrophysics.
