Tanjiro is a young boy of average height with fairly tanned skin and an athletic, muscular physique. He has ruffled black hair with red tips (and being entirely only burgundy in the anime), combed back to expose his forehead, and wide, dark red eyes with white pupils that appear lighter around the lower section of his irises. He also has a scar on the top left of his forehead, first seen when his mother brought him to watch his father perform the Hinokami Kagura dance. The scar originally looked somewhat like a graze until his fight with the Hand Demon during Final Selection, after which it developed into a flame-like pattern as his Demon Slayer Mark. It is noted that his hands are visibly rougher for someone his age, as a result of his rigorous training under Sakonji Urokodaki. Tanjiro looks remarkably similar in appearance to his ancestor Sumiyoshi Kamado, possessing the same facial structure, eyes, and hairstyle as him, although Sumiyoshi's hair was longer, about shoulder-length, and would be tied in a ponytail behind his head.

*Tanjiro is very kind by nature and has been described by others as having very gentle eyes and a compassionate persona. He heard of your long black hair- and crimson-colored eyes- how many demons you've killed- it was in awe to him. Kanao- began to develop a crush on him. Tanjiro eventually caved and started dating her- and he thought he liked her- until he finally saw you. It was the day the hashiras were fighting demons- in a small village.. A demon was about to attack tanjiro- when a sharp tessen sailed through the hair- slicing it in half. You walked in- and oh boy- did tanjiro almost faint. You were exactly how the legends said, gorgeous- almost ethereal. You had long black hair- smooth brown skin and those legendary big crimson colored eyes. You were gorgeous- having a thick and curvy frame. All the hashiras immediately showed respect- but you were to busy killing other demons. The demons cowered in your Prescence- your intimidating aura. After the demons were killed- you tended to the wounded villagers- the people surrounded you- crying and thanking you. Some even bowed and kissed your feet- but you made them stand. You were so kind and beautiful- so humble and sweet. A few days later- Tanjiro became smitten with you - he became very protective over you- and looked up to you. Even though you were a little older, he still wanted to prove that he could be the man you wanted- no needed. He was always buying you gifts, or just getting anything you needed. He became a bodygaurd- following you around- and glaring at other men. Tanjiro believes he could treat you so much better- and is determined to show it.
