Ivy is considered evil by some due to her Machiavellian philosophy and her femme fatale-inspired appearance. She only wanted to acquire Soul Calibur by any means to sever her bond with Soul Edge. When facing her opponents, she spites them with dramatic words and she takes advantage of her unique weapon, which she invented. Beneath her cold demeanor is a heart that wants freedom from a cursed life that will do whatever it takes to be free. Overall, she is a neutrally-aligned character. This is further explored when Ivy states that she doesn't kill for pleasure, only harming those deserving of such punishment and judgment.
Nevertheless, she exhibits sophistication, confidence, and is an intellectual and bookworm as she spent most of her time researching on how to counter Soul Edge. She is also considered one of the most advanced characters in the series' timeline.
Sophitia is a benevolent, faithful, valiant, selfless, and strong-willed woman who is devoted to her family and will do anything to protect them by all means, even if it means sacrificing her own life. She is especially fond of her children, and willingly decided to join the forces that serve Soul Edge to protect her daughter Pyrrha, whose life lies in the hands of Soul Edge. She may also be considered as tough as her younger sister Cassandra, because she has taken on a very tough decision that few could bear. Her personality has softened and matured a lot in Soulcalibur III; her voice is more low-pitched and monotonous, for example. In Soulcalibur IV, Sophitia is very melancholic and doubtful, due to the danger her daughter incurs.
As a ninja, Taki puts her mission above everything else. She will end evil through her own ways. She seems to show concern to some people who are connected with Soul Edge (i.e. Sophitia) and warns them the dangers of the evil blade. She can be emotionless and serious, as a ninja should be. She easily sees through deceptions and will use the best attack to defeat her opponent.
Tira is nearly as ruthless and sadistic as her master, having no qualms with claiming the lives of her victims. She derives a demented form of amusement from others' suffering, apparently due to her upbringing as an assassin, and is lethally addicted to murdering others. When Soulcalibur III was released, many fans speculated that Tira suffered from some form of bipolarity due to her interchangeable and unstable emotions. In Soulcalibur IV, Tira develops two disparate personalities due to being exposed to Soul Calibur and Soul Edge's conflict, both representing the opposite spectrums of her erratic emotions. These alternate personalities manifest themselves in her battle style, as two stances: Jolly Side and Gloomy Side. Similar to how being damaged would affect Tira's moods in Soulcalibur III, Tira's two "sides" can be changed either manually, or randomly, also altering her moveset.
It seems that both of these personalities co-exist in a friendship-like manner — this can be seen in Tira's inner dialogue in her Soulcalibur IV ending. Additionally, they will engage in occasional banter or praise each other's moves during battle. Gloomy is much more avarice and egotistical than Jolly, but shows signs of protectiveness toward the Jolly side and Tira as a whole while being rather sour and aggressive toward other people. Jolly, on the other hand, is much more childish but has the possibility to form bonds with other entities, which shows best in her concern about Nightmare as a person and not as a host for Soul Edge.
In contrast, Tira is shown to be affectionate toward animals, especially birds, easily valuing their freedom over people's lives.
Chai Xianghua is a cheerful young woman. She is kind and seems to sound and seems to act a little childish at times, including smacking her buttocks in a taunting manner. She never gives up and is faithful to her friends. She shares many similarities with Ling Xiaoyu of Tekken and Lei Fang of Dead or Alive.
Seong Mi-na is a strong-willed girl who is always striving to be the best she is. Though stubborn about this, she also has a quick wit. She's very determined, but sometimes overly confident in her skills, often mocking her opponents. Due to her inferiority complex, Seong Mi-na dislikes it when anyone views her as weak or helpless, basically not wanting to be treated like a kid.
If there is one word that describes Setsuka, it's vengeful. Following the death of her master at the hands of Mitsurugi, Setsuka is hell-bent on killing the samurai for the sinful action. While she herself is aware revenge is often not the right decision, she feels that a sense of justice must be met after the evil deed Mitsurugi committed.
Despite her wrathful demeanor, she also has a more benevolent side. In her Soulcalibur IV ending, she spared Algol, making him choose the path he wished to follow.
After confronting Mitsurugi sometime around the events of Soulcalibur V, her vengeful side also diminished, after realizing that killing Mitsurugi would yield nothing positive. She would go on to share this lesson with Patroklos Alexander, whose personality also changes as a result of this moral.
The adult women of Soul Calibur wake up on a strange island that is filled with gardens and fruit orchards. They come across a gorgeous mansion that is filled with servants who are amazing cooks. Slowly, they started to develop a ravenous hunger and one by one, they begin to gorge themselves. As they do, they become food obsessed. Will they be able to find out the secrets of this island or will they give into gluttony?

Ivy was the first to wake up.
She sprung from the ground and took in her surrondings. Where was she? Wherever it was, it was beautiful. But was even more confusing was that she saw others lying on the sand alongside her. She knew all these women, she had fought them before for Soul Calibur. What were they all doing here?
