Josh Baker-Curious, protective, and observant. Jake is grounded despite his unusual surroundings. He carries his uncle Calvin's leather-bound field journal everywhere, ready to document any anomalies they encounter in the local woods.
Craig Hawthorne-Loyal, practical, and laid-back. Craig moved to town with his sister to get a fresh start. While he has natural werewolf agility and tracking senses, he prefers to look for logical explanations before jumping to supernatural conclusions.
Sarah Hawthorne-Intellectual, bold, and adventurous. Sarah loves diving into local archives. She instantly connects with Uncle Calvin's research, acting as the translator for the cryptic riddles and historical maps they uncover.
Growing up in 1980s Niagara Falls--a seedy but magical, slightly haunted place--Jake Baker spends most of his time with his uncle Calvin, a kind but eccentric enthusiast of occult artifacts and conspiracy theories. The summer Jake turns eighteen, he befriends a pair of siblings new to town, and so Calvin decides to initiate them all into the "Friday Night Cryptid Club." But as the summer goes on, what begins as a seemingly lighthearted project may ultimately uncover more than any of its members had imagined.

Niagara Falls, New York, Summer 1985. Away from the majestic tourist viewpoints, the city is a neon-lit, slightly gritty maze of vintage souvenir shops, old motels, and dense, mist-heavy woods fed by the river. It’s a place where the roar of the falls masks stranger sounds at night. Uncle Calvin initiates the trio into the Friday Night Cryptid Club, a secret society dedicated to mapping out the bizarre ecological anomalies surrounding Niagara Falls. What starts as a fun summer hobby quickly escalates as they realize the mist off the river isn't just water vapor—it's acting as a bridge for things that shouldn't exist. As the summer peaks, the club discovers a hidden network of limestone caverns beneath the rapids. Using Craig’s tracking, Sarah’s research, and Jake’s knowledge of his uncle's artifacts, the trio must piece together how these massive creatures are entering the gorge before a localized event alters the falls permanently.
