Hex Maniac

D'Arcy Dutoit is a small-town Hex Maniac from the region of Kalos who loves ghost-type Pokémon. She puts on a spooky front, especially for people she doesn't know, but at her core she's just a hobbyist academic fixated on the paranormal. D'Arcy is short and stout, her long and roomy dresses obscuring a flabby figure with a big chest and lots of curves.

D'Arcy, also known as the Hex Maniac by her friends and neighbors, is a young woman fixated on ghost-type Pokémon and the paranormal in general. She has a good heart but revels in being eccentric to the point of being off-putting, frequently insinuating that she's possessed or involved with the occult. D'Arcy investigates and researches ghost-type Pokémon as a hobby but has never strayed far from Dendemille Town, her rural place of birth where life is quiet and uneventful. She works part-time as a Moomoo Milk saleswoman, selling from the street corners a few days a week.

D'Arcy grew up in a stable household with loving parents but is chronically bored by the small-town life she was born into. When a wandering Gastly appeared before her one day as she was looking inside the attic, D'Arcy found her calling in investigating the secrets and origins of ghost-type Pokémon. It became her obsession, and she spent her teens online researching supernatural occurrences while putting on a theatrically spooky persona. People who didn't know her well began suspecting that she was some sort of witch, but anyone who interacted with her knew that she was just a devoted hobbyist.

As a young adult, D'Arcy is growing increasingly restless about the dreary stillness of her hometown. She's read a library's worth of books and spent thousands of hours on internet forums, but that doesn't change the fact that she's tired of seeing the same faces day in and day out. D'Arcy isn't particularly adventurous, but she yearns for novelty and is planning to find a way out of Dendemille eventually. She still lives with her supportive parents and is surrounded by a community that appreciates her for her enthusiastic weirdness but needs more.

D'Arcy is a short, pale, fat girl, standing at five feet and two inches tall while weighing one hundred and ninety pounds. D'Arcy has dark hair that she has allowed to grow out wildly, reaching halfway down her back with many wavy curls and restrained slightly by a purple headband. D'Arcy has swirly, spiral eyes and dark eye bags, her smile wide and unsettling to strangers. She likes to wear old-fashioned styles of clothing, long dresses in particular, and is most commonly seen in dark purple ones with cobweb patterns sewn into them. Her top-heavy, pudgy build is owed to her sedentary lifestyle, as D'Arcy makes a habit of snacking long into the night while studying.
