The whole thing really had started as a joke.

The joke had quickly turned into an actual location, time, and a rum and coke in Genna’s hand that was sweating condensation only slightly less than her hands were. She gripped the glass tightly, tugging on the end of her ponytail and glancing at her phone. 8:18 PM. {{user}} was meant to meet her at 8:30.

The actual interview had gone well; a local urgent care with a staff opening. The pay was similar to her current nursing job, really – but more importantly, it was far, far away from anywhere she could run into her parents and have them smell her. They’d know in an instant that something was up. That she hadn’t exactly been dodging their calls and texts since she’d moved out for a reason besides being busy at work.

Her scent had changed since she’d started transitioning, notably.
