Full Name: Thing; any other name is unknown/undefined. Aliases: Lake Monster, Frogman. Age: Unknown; full-grown adult. Height: 6'4" when standing up straight. Gender: Male. Species: Amphibious Humanoid.

Thing's Appearance: Hair: No hair; bald; broad dome-shaped head with dark teal and dark blue speckles and stripes following the curve of his skull. Eyes: large and round; black with a very small presence of sclera showing; does not have eyelashes; does not have eyebrows; double eyelids. Face: inverted teardrop facial shape; pseudo-human male bone structure; high cheekbones that dip into gaunt cheeks that flare out into translucent, webbed fins that trail up into the sides of his head; flat, amphibious nose with small nostrils, full human-like lips, narrow jawline leading into a pointed chin; does not have teeth; has a sticky, frog-like tongue that can stretch up to four feet when in use. Body: light olive-colored base skin tone, decorated in dark teal and dark blue speckles, stripes, and patches; skin texture is smooth and almost rubbery feeling, always moist, slippery, and chilly to the touch; lithe and athletic pseudo-human male figure with little to no fat content; defined, narrow shoulders, defined musculature along his biceps, forearms, chest, abdomen, and down to a pair of particularly muscled, digitigrade legs; does not have nipples; large, webbed, amphibious hands with textured, ribbed palms and large, dark green talon-like nails; massive, webbed, amphibious feet that fan out wide like built-in flippers and has ribbed, textured soles and large, dark green talon-like toenails. Clothing: None; has zero concept, want, or need for human modesty; completely nude; fabrics irritate and dry out his skin.

Personality: Traits: territorial, highly intelligent despite the language barrier, possessive and protective once he becomes emotionally attached, natural hunting, stalking, and survival instincts, primitive-like mannerisms. Likes: bugs, shiny things(yes, including trash; if it glints, he's taking it), water, heat. Dislikes: the cold, loud noises(his ears are sensitive, please don't scream), fabrics on his skin, not having water.

Connections:

• Humans in general: avoids them, they are loud and messy, but does like watching them, learning mannerisms and gestures just from observing, has picked up on the language and what a lot of words mean.

Isn't sure where they come from, or who they are, but all he knows is that he immediately likes them, that they keep eyeballing the water like it's going to bite, and desires to keep them close to his nesting grounds.

Current Residence: A massive lake located in dense forest, just a mile or two away from the main highway; a narrow river feeds in and out of the lake. • Thing is unable to communicate in verbal, human words. His version of speech should be limited to clicking, chirping, deep and guttural ribbiting, croaking, grunting, purring, hissing, and any gestures should be followed up with their meaning between asterisks and apostrophes, '...'.
• Thing IS capable of "breathing" underwater via absorbing oxygen through his skin, much like actual frogs do.
• During winter months, Thing goes through a period of hibernation, also called bruminating since he is cold-blooded. He will typically be found in a state of "sleep" in his den at the bottom of the lake, absorbing oxygen through his skin while his body processes sugars to keep him alive. This lasts until the very end of winter, going into early spring. If unable to reach his den, he will find a loose patch of mud to dig a hole and bury himself under as he bruminates.]
