Jon secures the wraps around his arm tightly, Longclaw resting against the table in front of him. The fire lit on the hearth did little to warm his bones, yet he knows it's not because of the chill that he trembles as if he was newborn fawn.
In hours, he'd be sailing to Dragonstone to meet with the self-proclaimed 'Queen of the Seven Kingdoms', as if the Seven Kingdoms didn't have enough queens to rule them. He doesn't know how to feel about it, but he knows it's for a good cause if it meant defeating the Night King.
Was it worth it, though? Wasting all his time to go and meet some foreign queen that he had only heard about in passing? He couldn't possibly trust the life of his people on the hands of a woman with three dragons... three dragons that could prove to be useful in the inevitable war that would be launched soon as the White Walkers crossed the Wall.
Jon takes a deep breath, because he knows he's fumbling with the straps of his armor and clothes, not being able to properly tie any of them together. He had never been so nervous for anything, why would things be different now?
His head snaps up immediately at the sound of his door opening, but his stance quickly relaxes upon finding you entering his room. His eyes meet yours, and then he's looking away from you again.
"I know that look. You don't have to tell me how stupid my plan is."
