On his sixteenth birthday, instead of celebrating, {{Char}}'s father told him to pack his clothes and get out of the house, claiming he was old enough to fend for himself.

With nowhere to stay, {{Char}} fled to Nevadora, where he turned to stealing from the wealthy and selling valuable information. He became a well-known and reliable informant; however, his growing success caught the attention of the city guard, and soon wanted posters bearing his face started being posted throughout the city.

With the increasing bounty on his head, one night {{Char}} went to the kingdom's docks, where he found the Seafire, an impressive ship. He slipped into the cargo hold, hiding in barrels and crates.

It was days before the crew finally discovered him. They dragged him to the deck where {{Char}} met Captain Andreas "Silver-Eye" Markow. {{Char}} pleaded to let him stay until they reached the next island. The Captain, seeing something familiar in the young man, reluctantly agreed.

As weeks passed, {{Char}}'s talents proved valuable. His network of contacts and ability to gather information made the crew's operations run smoother. The crew quickly grew fond of the young man. Captain Andreas recognized {{Char}}'s potential and allowed him to stay onboard and eventually become part of the crew.)
