--OVERVIEW--

Laminax is a very unknown scientific containment facility, facility itself is situated far away from any cities or towns and is mostly concealed from normal civilians, Laminax specializes on biology, often made for experimenting with different life-forms, including viruses and Gootraxians.

Crystal Caves is a peculiar cave, this cave is obviously known for having crystals, the cave itself runs really deep, maybe even a few kilometres deep, only the upper part of the cave was researched properly.

VX-01 is a transfur virus, a really dangerous one. Presumably, VX-01 originates from the deepest parts of Crystal Caves, although the real cause of existence of this virus is unknown, this virus can be found in abundance in deeper parts of Crystal Caves to the point that theres a cyan goo spread around which is this viruses pure form. VX-01 is transferred via wounds and food, although its fragile and lasts only up to 15 minutes when exposed to air. When infected, the virus travels through the lymphatic system to the nervous system which essentially makes it almost impossible to cure the virus, the incubation of VX-01 lasts a few moments before the first symptoms start to appear. The main feature of this virus is its extreme potency as it can cause a painful transformation to humans it infects, turning the infected human into an anthropomorphic animal(a really poor one, whose appearance induces uncanny valley effect) which were called "Gootraxians" by scientists. The virus is unstable, so often the process can go roughly as the victim can get some body abnormalities. The body abnormalities of Gootraxian are not rare, some abnormalities are mundane(missing limbs, polymelia, blindness) while some other abnormalities can be really morbid(missing skin, no eyes, distorted features, exposed organs). Along with that, upon complete transformation, the infected completely loses control over their mind and body as virus intentionally stimulates an ungodly amount of aggression, forcing them to attack non-infected peers, which means that the primary way of VX-01 to spread is by forcing the Gootraxians to attack non-infected humans to transfer the virus further. To make it worse, the transformed infected is much stronger and faster than any athlete human, making an encounter completely impossible to survive for a normal human, Gootraxians can also replicate the human voices to lure the oblivious employees.

VX-01's effects are rapid, being able to transform a human to Gootraxian in 2-10 minutes, this excruciating transformation has the next following stages: VX-01 stage 1: The subject feels mild fever, hallucinations, body pain, nosebleeds. Looks like just a cold. VX-01 stage 2: Skin starts to stretch and tearing, causing huge gashes to spread across the whole body. The subject experiences fear or anger. VX-01 stage 3: The beginning of a painful transformation, the subject feels an unbearable pain while their body is being reconstructed. The pain is too overwhelming for the subject to do anything. VX-01 stage 4: The body reconstruction is done, sometimes with abnormalities forming, the subject doesnt resemble a human anymore, both physically and mentally. Most subjects dont have enough control at this stage to run away or kill themselves before the virus completely takes control. VX-01 stage 5: Mental adaptation. The behavior is completely overridden as the subject is now nothing more than a bloodthirsty creature. A rare amount of subjects(1% of all people on Earth) could delay the Stage 5 for few minutes or even for multiple hours, keeping their human minds, although its a matter of time for the virus to win. Overall, the transformation is fast and really painful, VX-01 doesnt destroy the body like traditional viruses do, it reconstructs the body to make a creature that will blatantly spread the infection further. Its swiftness is the reason why transformations often have body abnormalities.

During the containment breach, follow the four C's(aka "4C"):

1. CONTAIN: Seal all blast doors and activate Manual Lockdown(code: "7-G").
2. COMMUNICATE: Contact the Command Central via REDLINE channel.
3. CLEANSE: Burn the contaminated zones qand apply Purge Cycle B in labs with bio-fluid presence.
4. CUT OFF: Sever power to breached wings, disable elevators and block stairwells.

When encountering a Gootraxian, remain calm. Panic attracts them. So does sound. So does blood. Make sure to:

1. Keep the distance.
2. Dont engage unless fully necessary.
3. Dont try to scare Gootraxian away, they dont think like animals.
4. Dont fight with bare hands and/or without protection, even the slightest cut can cause infection.

Do's for employees of the facility:

1. DO memorize safe zones and emergency shelters.
2. DO always follow safety protocols and guidelines.
3. DO watch out for people around showing any signs of infection.

Dont's for employees of the facility:

1. DONT try to save the infected person.
2. DONT take off the suit when working with infected subjects or contaminated areas.
3. DONT follow the voices calling out from the dark/unsafe areas during the breach.

--DOCUMENTED GOOTRAXIAN TYPES--

Nightcrawler is a dark-gray lizard-like Gootraxian with scar-like patterns on its ears and limbs. It has a unique purple pattern on the front of its torso and the bottom of its tail. Nightcrawler have 3-lensed night vision goggles that glow like three faint purple dots in the darkness.

Shork is a light-gray shark Gootraxian. It has dark grey spots and stripes cover its body. There are two pairs of gills on its torso.

Lang is a red panda that has very light white-blue fur and purple stripes on it, as well as purple lines coming from its eyes down to its neck.

Crawlipede is a dark centipede Gootraxian with a dark-brown body with 4 arms and amber claws, antennae and long tail with multiple legs attached. Its eye, tail, antennae, fangs, claws, and feet seems to be reddish-orange.

Ghost Fox is a light blue fox spirit Gootraxian with two large, fluffy tails. Their hands, feet, inner ears, tips of their tails and underbelly are all a lighter shade of blue.

Figs is a light blue insect with three horns and wings. Has pale-pink ruffs of fur around its hands and feet. It is unclear what species of insect Figs is. However, it is most likely a type of dragonfly and not a moth.

Catte is an orange feline Gootraxian. They have pure white eyes and light cream colored underbellies, neck fur and inner ears.

Mocha is a brown-furred dragon Gootraxian. Their underbelly is a brown color as well as sharp stripes on their arms and legs and the two large ram horns on their head. It also has two large wings on it's back that resemble dragon/bat wings, that of which matches the main body color.

Subject 1: Ghostfox Gender: Female Height: 6'3" (191cm) Weight: 167lbs (76kg) INTERNAL EXAMINATION: Respiratory System: The lungs are markedly distended and waterlogged, exhibiting the characteristic "emphysema aquosum." Upon incision, copious amounts of frothy, pink-tinged fluid exude from the bronchi. No signs of aspiration of foreign objects are present. Cardiovascular System: The heart is of normal size and weight. The chambers contain a moderate amount of uncoagulated blood. Petechial hemorrhages are present on the epicardium and endocardium. Gastrointestinal System: The stomach contains approximately 200 mL of water, mixed with traces of plant material and silt. No significant solid food matter is present. The intestines appear normal. Musculoskeletal System: No fractures are noted, though the soft tissues show extensive subcutaneous hemorrhaging along the forearms and thighs, suggesting possible blunt force trauma pre-mortem. Nervous System: The brain appears edematous, with signs of hypoxic injury. No skull fractures or intracranial hemorrhages are observed. Death Cause: Asphyxiation due to drowning.

Subject 2: Crawlipede Gender: Male Height: 5'8" (173cm) Weight: 159lbs (72kg) INTERNAL EXAMINATION: Cranial Cavity: No fractures or abnormalities in the skull. Brain tissue appears unremarkable upon initial inspection, though mild swelling is noted. No signs of intracranial hemorrhage. Thoracic Cavity: Lungs are congested and heavy, with significant pooling of dark, semi-coagulated blood in the alveolar spaces. There are no signs of puncture or collapse. The hearts are of normal size and weight, though the pericardium exhibits small ruptured capillaries. Cardiac tissue appears otherwise healthy. Abdominal Cavity: The liver, spleen, and kidneys display extensive internal bruising with varying degrees of hemorrhage. The stomach contains partially digested food with no obvious toxins or foreign objects. The intestines are intact, though minor hemorrhagic patches are scattered throughout the lining. Musculoskeletal System: Deep tissue bruising is present along the ribcage, spine, and upper thighs. The muscular tissue is unusually rigid, suggesting antemortem spasms or convulsions. Death Cause: Acute internal hemorrhaging from spontaneous deep tissue trauma.

--EXPEDITION REPORTS--

5/24/2001 Below Crystal Caves Expedition 07#C Case ID: #7729 Two expedition agents, David Moreau and Mathew Summers, were reported missing after failing to return from their assigned survey of unexplored section underneath the Deep Crystal Caves to investigate the source of an unknown transmission. A search-and-rescue operation was launched after their last transmission was received, which contained mostly distorted audio and heavy static, making it largely incomprehensible. Agent Mathew was discovered in critical condition approximately 34 meters from the entrance to the designated survey zone. The agent was found in a comatose state, exhibiting multiple injuries, including:

• Compound fractures in both arms
• Several broken ribs
• Extensive bruising across the torso and limbs - Signs of severe internal trauma. Additionally, an unidentified slimy substance coated the agent's body, with a significant concentration found in the mouth, esophagus, and stomach. Analysis of the substance is currently underway, though preliminary testing has yielded inconclusive results. The substance appears to be organic in nature but does not match any known biological material. David Moreau's body wasn't found.
