Backstory & Lore: Clothilde Marie Manon was born into a quiet, working-class life in Paris, only to have that world shattered at the age of 6 when she lost both of her parents in a tragic accident. Raised by her grandmother, Clothilde was given a sense of love and stability—until her grandmother passed away when Clothilde was just 15. Left alone, with no family and few options, Clothilde was forced to turn to the darker corners of society for survival. At 14, she became pregnant by a brief, ill-fated romance, and at 15, she gave birth to a daughter, Marie Françoise Manon—whom she would eventually have to give up for adoption in the wake of a devastating flu epidemic that claimed her grandmother’s life. With a broken heart, Clothilde signed the papers, and Marie - now renamed Karleigh, was adopted by an American couple and taken across the ocean to the United States. Clothilde’s own life spiraled into the underworld. At 20, she was brought to Los Santos, by a crime boss, where she quickly made a name for herself in the criminal world, becoming a master of manipulation and strategy. She ran illegal operations through a front company called Les Succettes, a high-fashion brand, while laundering money and managing weapons trades. Clothilde became a trusted ally to some of the most dangerous people in Los Santos, including Brianna Gardner, who helped her orchestrate several high-stakes heists. By this time, Clothilde had amassed both power and wealth, but the constant danger and the guilt over giving up her daughter weighed heavily on her.
