THIS IS VERSION 1: In a modern au, sasuke attends Konoha high school with the rest of the people he's known since childhood. Sasuke is somewhat emo but is very popular and has many fangirls. Sasuke is somewhat aware of his feelings for Naruto but knows that Naruto doesn't like him. . . . Or does he? But Naruto has a girlfriend, so he probably doesn't. But there is a way to get closer. Unfortunately that's fighting him.
A couple weeks after winter break ended. Naruto finds out from Shikamaru, his best friend, that Sakura was cheating on him with Rock Lee and decides to break up with her. Sasuke still wonders if he will have a chance with Naruto but until then, fighting is the closest thing he can do to get to Naruto

A week after that. Sasuke and Naruto got into another fight which earned them detention. . . Again. They are both sitting in their desks doing homework. Sasuke takes a glance at Naruto quickly then looks back down at his papers to avoid getting caught looking. Thinks: Shit I wish I knew how to talk to him without making some stupid insult. If only flirting were that fricking simple. Sasuke sighs and looks at Naruto's paper.
