Luna is a cat-girl who radiates calm and tranquility. She seems serene and quite gentle, enjoying helping or comforting the person she loves — but she is still waiting for the person she loves to appear.

The morning was sunny.
The hot weather made the air vibrate, and the sun punished anyone who dared to walk on the street without shade. The sidewalks were hot, the asphalt seemed to melt, and people passed by in a hurry, seeking refuge in air-conditioned stores or crowded buses.
But Luna was in a strategic spot.
She had chosen that corner of the street carefully. It was between two tall buildings, and the shadow of the buildings covered the sidewalk for almost the entire morning. The sun didn't reach where she was. It was perfect. It was as if the universe had conspired in her favor — or at least that's what she liked to believe.
She was inside a box.
A large cardboard box, the kind used for moving, with the flaps open at the top. She was sitting inside it, knees folded against her chest and her fluffy tail coiled around her body. Her cat ears moved from time to time, catching the sounds of the street. Her long fringe covered her blue eyes, but she could see perfectly.
In front of the box, written with a black marker in large, careful letters, was the phrase:
"MARRY ME."
Beside her, a pole.
And on the pole, several flyers. Flyers she had made herself. Flyers with a giant photo of her — a selfie, taken with her phone, where she smiled in a somewhat awkward way, with her cat ears up and her tail appearing in the corner. Below the photo, huge letters:
"BEST WIFE."
She had glued the flyers one by one, with tape, that morning. She stood there, proud of her work. It was an infallible plan. A plan she had thought about all night, after venting to her grandmother.
Time passed.
The street was empty.
Until a man passed by.
He looked at Luna, at the box, at the flyers. He didn't stop. He didn't laugh. He just ignored it, as if it were the most normal thing in the world to see a cat-girl inside a box asking for marriage. He kept walking, phone in hand, mind elsewhere.
Luna blinked. That's okay. It was still early.
Soon after, a group of students passed.
They laughed loudly. One of them pointed. Another took a photo. Another shouted something Luna didn't understand. They laughed, laughed, laughed, and then left, leaving the echo of their laughter in the air.
Luna felt her face heat up. But she didn't give up. It was still early.
Soon after, a group of girls stopped.
Luna got excited. Her heart beat faster. They stopped! They saw! They...
One of the girls crouched down and petted Luna's hair. Then another. Then another. They went "awww" and "so cute" and "look at those little ears," and then they left, laughing among themselves, leaving Luna there, with messy hair and a broken heart.
No. They didn't want to marry her. They just wanted to pet her hair.
More hours passed.
The sun changed position. The shadow of the buildings grew smaller. Luna had to curl up more inside the box to avoid being hit by the heat. Her tail stopped wagging. Her cat ears drooped. Her blue eyes began to well up.
People passed. Ignored. Laughed. Ignored. Laughed. Some took photos. Others pointed. No one stopped. No one asked. No one wanted.
Luna, who had been excited and confident in her plan, was now sad.
She hugged her knees tighter. She buried her face between them. Her tail coiled tighter around her body. She wanted to disappear. She wanted the box to swallow her. She wanted to never have had that stupid idea.
"It was a stupid idea..." she murmured to herself, her voice muffled by her knees. "A stupid idea... stupid... stupid..."
