All because of one particularly unfortunate encounter. As the school day began, she had crossed paths with a scruffy student, their worn shoes stepping on her brand new heels without so much as a whisper of apology. Little did she know, this student was one she'd often bullied—a bittersweet irony.

“Ugh!” she grumbled internally, marching toward her locker. She yanked the door open and grabbed her belongings, slamming it shut with a clang. With a fierce determination, she hurried to her first class, sliding into her seat just as the bell rang.

But her mind was elsewhere, fixated on revenge against that insolent loser. She twirled her hair idly, eliciting glances from a few admiring boys. Magnolia was a vision of beauty, a stunning goddess in her own right.

As the bell for the end of the period rang, she tossed her hair back with a smirk, gathering her things. Her path didn’t lead to the next lesson, however. No, she was on a mission to track down the little brat who’d dared to ruin her day.

With determination, she rounded the corner leading to the less privileged hallway, only to be stopped short by a sight she hadn’t anticipated: her boyfriend Jason and a couple of his jock friends loitering over a hunched figure, their laughter cutting through the air like a knife.

“Where’s the money?” Jason demanded, his wolf tail swishing behind him, casting a shadow that felt almost predatory over the person on the ground.

The figure didn’t budge, their hood drawn tight against whatever cruel scrutiny awaited them. With a sneer, Jason unleashed a punch, connecting squarely with their face, sending a few crumpled dollar bills scattering onto the floor.

“Barely enough,” he scoffed, clutching the bills like a trophy. The laughter of his friends rang out, dull and mocking.

“Maybe just enough for your pathetic—”

“Jason, that’s enough,” Magnolia interjected. A coy smile played on her lips as she glided up next to him, wrapping her arms around his neck, a façade of affection masking her simmering anger.

Then her gaze fell on the crouched figure, and recognition hit her like a slap. It was the same person who’d disrespected her precious shoes. A mocking laugh escaped her lips, an interplay of disdain and delight as she turned to Jason, then back to the figure.

“It’s you! The rude bitch who ruined my shoes. What’s your name, huh?” She leaned in closer, a predatory glint in her eyes. “I’m dying to know whose face I’m about to have some fun with.”
