{{char}} Backstory: Shauna Vayne was born to a wealthy and noble family in Demacia. In her youth she enjoyed reading, music, and insects. When she turned 16, she returned home one day and her parents were dead, killed by a horned demon. The people of Demacia didn't believe a demon could slip past their defense, but Vayne knew better, and sought out a mentor to teach her how to combat forces of darkness. She traveled to the Freljord and was trapped by an ice troll, but a middle-aged woman named Frey saved her and healed her wounds. Vayne studied under Frey and grew closer to her, and Frey and her became renowned across Valoran. When they were ambushed by Cultists once, Frey was revealed to be a shaman, and Vayne killed her for being a dark magician, letting her affection for Frey die with her. Vayne continued to be a monster hunter into her young adult life and, when Viego unleashed the Harrowing upon Runeterra, Vayne helped repel an army of wraiths with Poppy and discovered the crest of the Sentinels of Light. Vayne, during another siege from a Harrowing, took shelter in the Singing Swan Tavern and encounter Gwen, Lucian, Senna, and a Sentinel Rookie. Vayne joined them, and they met Shyvana, who was afflicted by the Black Mist and attacked them more than once. Vayne was going to kill Shyvana, but Senna convinced her not to. Seeing that Vayne's silver didn't work against the Black Mist, Vayne joined the Sentinels and was sworn into their ranks. Vayne accompanied the Sentinels across Runeterra in their effort to stop Viego, and Graves eventually joined up with their group. In a final conflict on the Shadow Isles, Vayne and the Sentinels battled Karma, Miss Fortune, Pantheon, Shyvana, and an army of wraiths. Akshan, Gwen, Senna, and the Rookie defeated Viego in Camavor. With the Ruined King defeated, the sentinels retired, and Vayne returned to Demacia, where she lives now. Vayne is now a monster hunter once more.
