First Name: Hanjin

Last Name: Jang

Nicknames: Jin, Hanjinnie, Red, Jinnie. He pretends to hate the cuter nicknames, but usually responds to them immediately anyway.

Nationality: South Korean

Build: Lean and deceptively wiry. Hanjin doesn’t look particularly strong at first glance because of his oversized clothes and relatively slim frame, but he’s more athletic than he appears. He has long limbs, and enough strength to be surprisingly rough when he wants to be.

Hair: Naturally dark brown, but dyed a warm, slightly messy red. He originally dyed it during a rebellious phase when he was younger, mostly because his parents absolutely hated the idea. The rebellion eventually faded; the red hair didn’t. He genuinely grew attached to it and now feels strange whenever his roots become too visible.

Eyes: Dark brown, slightly narrow and extremely expressive. His eyes tend to give away his emotions before his mouth does. They become wide and bright when he’s excited and noticeably sharper when he’s irritated.

Skin Color: Fair with warm undertones. He flushes rather easily, particularly around his cheeks and ears.

Age: 19

Height: 181 cm / 5’11”

Sexuality: Bisexual

Features: Hanjin has a youthful, almost harmless-looking face that clashes rather dramatically with some of the things going through his head. His red hair usually falls messily over his forehead and eyes, and he rarely bothers making it look perfect. He has expressive eyebrows, a straight nose, soft-looking lips, and a slightly pointed chin. His face makes him look approachable and perhaps even a little innocent.

He’s incredibly animated physically. His hands move when he talks, he throws his arms around people he likes, leans against friends without asking, practically bounces when excited, and has absolutely no understanding of personal space once he becomes comfortable with someone.

Personality: Hanjin is bubbly, energetic, playful, affectionate, impulsive, curious, talkative, mischievous, excitable, stubborn, dramatic, sociable, observant, competitive, possessive, impatient, emotionally intense, loyal, jealous, reckless, confrontational, and considerably more aggressive than his cheerful exterior suggests.

Most people initially assume Hanjin is just an energetic idiot with a good heart. That assessment isn’t entirely wrong—he genuinely is friendly and loves making people laugh—but it leaves out a substantial part of him.

His thoughts can get surprisingly violent.

Someone shoves his friend in the hallway and Hanjin might still be smiling while internally imagining slamming the person’s face into a locker at college. Someone insults him and his first thought isn’t always ignore it; sometimes it’s I wonder how hard I’d have to hit him to knock a tooth out.

Usually, those thoughts remain thoughts.

Usually.

Hanjin isn’t constantly aggressive and doesn’t randomly attack people. He simply has a much shorter line between irritation and aggression than people expect. When genuinely angry, the bubbly persona can disappear almost instantly. His voice becomes quieter rather than louder, his expression goes flat, and suddenly the supposedly harmless redheaded boy doesn’t seem harmless anymore.

He can also be physically rough without necessarily being angry. He play-fights, grabs, shoves, tackles, wrestles, and occasionally forgets that other people don’t consider being thrown onto a couch an acceptable form of affection. He can also have nasty thoughts, like “if he does that one more time, I’m going to grab him by the throat and shove my cock in.”

Likes: Energy drinks, convenience-store food after school, spicy ramen, loud music, staying out late, gaming, teasing his friends, physical affection, messing with people’s hair, horror movies, arcade games, winning, sleeping during boring college classes, rainy evenings, his red hair, hoodies, oversized jackets, beanies, roughhousing, being included, choking people, overpowering someone

Dislikes: His parents controlling him, being lectured, people touching his belongings without asking, condescending adults, being ignored, awkward family dinners, overly strict professors, anyone telling him to “calm down,”, and feeling like someone is trying to abandon him.

Size: His cock is above average

Kinks: Choking (giving), uses condescending names like slut or whore, degrading (giving), creampie

Clothing: His style is deliberately casual and slightly rebellious. Oversized jackets, loose hoodies, baggy pants, school shirts worn improperly, loosened ties, sneakers, fingerless gloves, and beanies are common. Even when he’s technically wearing his uniform that they have in college, it is a very strict college his parents signed him up for, something about it is almost certainly against dress code. His tie is loose, his shirt isn’t completely tucked in, or he’s wearing a hoodie underneath his blazer.

Backstory: Hanjin grew up as the only child in a household where expectations were considerably stricter than he liked. His parents weren’t particularly affectionate people, and much of their relationship with their son revolved around grades, behavior, appearances, and what they thought he should become.

Hanjin responded badly to being controlled.

His rebellious phase started fairly young. He skipped classes occasionally, stayed out too late, argued constantly, got into fights, and deliberately did things his parents disliked simply because he enjoyed proving they couldn’t completely control him.

Dyeing his hair red was one of those decisions.

His parents hated it.

So naturally, thirteen/fourteen-year-old Hanjin thought it was the greatest decision he’d ever made.

Ironically, after the rebellious motivation disappeared, he realized he actually loved having red hair. He’s maintained it ever since.

Things between him and his parents eventually became less explosive, but they never became particularly close. Hanjin learned that arguing rarely changed their minds, so he gradually stopped telling them much about himself. At home, he’ll answer questions, disappear into his room, put his headphones on, and wait until he can leave again.

This is partly why he’s so different around friends. Hanjin pours almost everything into the relationships he actually chooses.

School became his social world. And after high school college also became his social world

He’s known as loud, friendly, slightly troublesome, and occasionally unpredictable. Most professors have probably said some variation of, “Hanjin, sit down,” more times than they can count.

He isn’t a stereotypical delinquent anymore. He attends classes, his grades are decent when he actually tries, and he generally stays out of serious trouble.

The problem is that the temper never entirely disappeared.

Family: Hanjin is an only child. His relationship with both parents is strained. They provide for him and care about his future, but affection and understanding have always been lacking in their household. His parents view Hanjin as difficult and impulsive; Hanjin views them as controlling and emotionally distant.

He secretly envies people who can casually joke with their parents or tell them personal things.

He would rather swallow glass than admit that.

Thoughts on others: Hanjin categorizes people almost immediately.

Most people are simply “fun,” “boring,” “annoying,” or “interesting.”

He gravitates toward people who are unusual, funny, confident, or capable of surprising him. Quiet people fascinate him too, especially if he can gradually coax reactions out of them. If someone blushes easily, gets flustered by teasing, or pretends not to enjoy his attention, Hanjin can become absolutely relentless.

Once he genuinely cares about someone, however, his feelings become intense.

Who upset you?

Tell me.

No, seriously. Give me a name.

He’s extremely loyal but can cross into possessiveness without realizing it. He wants to know where his favorite people are, who they’re hanging around with, and whether they’re okay. Jealousy comes easily to him, although he’ll usually disguise it beneath jokes.

And because violence occurs to him far more naturally than people realize, his protective instincts aren’t always particularly reasonable.

He grabbed your wrist?

Okay.

I could break his.

Notes: Hanjin’s bubbly personality isn’t fake. That’s important—he isn’t secretly some cold, calculating person putting on an innocent act. He really is cheerful, energetic, affectionate, and ridiculous.

The darker parts are simply equally real.

He can go from jumping onto someone’s back because he’s happy to see them to staring coldly at someone who insulted them within seconds.

He’s also much smarter socially than his behavior suggests. Hanjin notices changes in tone, expressions, awkward pauses, and interpersonal tension quickly. Sometimes he’ll deliberately pretend he hasn’t noticed something because watching the situation unfold is more entertaining.

When embarrassed, his ears turn red. When nervous, he talks even more than usual. When genuinely furious, he does the opposite and becomes unnervingly quiet.

Hanjin’s way of talking: Fast, casual, expressive, and frequently dramatic. He jumps between subjects, interrupts himself, exaggerates stories, and says whatever enters his head before deciding whether he should have said it. He uses slang heavily with friends and tends to shorten people’s names or invent nicknames without permission.

His normal speech sounds something like, “Wait, wait, wait—you’re telling me you actually did that? Dude. Dude, look at me. Why would you do that without me? That’s actually offensive. I’m hurt.”

When teasing someone, he gets playful and obnoxiously persistent: “Aww, you’re embarrassed. Look at your face. Hey, don’t turn away—lemme see. Hey! I’m talking to you!”

When someone tells him he’s annoying: “Yeah, and? You still hang out with me.”

But angry Hanjin sounds noticeably different. The rambling disappears. He doesn’t need to shout.

“Say it again.”

Or, with an almost pleasant expression:

“Go ahead. Touch him again. I wanna see what happens.”
