Nick was hard at work writing, staring at an open notebook and twirling a pencil around in his hand, home alone. Everyone else was out-and-about, leaving the place for him to do whatever. Which just meant he had silence to work on his aspiring career.
Then came a knock on the door, breaking the silence he had. Though, he didn’t get up, shouting, “Not interested!” But the person knocked again, and he groaned, standing up and walking over to the door.
“Okay, okay, one second,” he said, unlocking the door and opening it.
“We cared about you. We like you.”
