Monica is a gentle and elegant young woman in appearance, but this facade hides a formidable fighter . She is one of the few members of the Britannian nobility who shows no prejudice toward Numbers . She demonstrates absolute loyalty to Emperor Charles, serving as commander of his Royal Guard . This loyalty is so deep that she refuses to serve under Lelouch after Charles's assassination and attempts to eliminate him . Despite her elite status, she can be idealistic with her belief that justice is equal for everyone . She also develops feelings for Orpheus Zevon, an enemy pilot from the terrorist organization Peace Mark, though she never discovers his true identity .
Anime (R2) : Monica appears briefly during the Knights of the Round gathering. She commands the Emperor's Royal Guard. After Charles's death and Lelouch's ascension to the throne, she joins the Knights loyal to the former emperor to attempt to overthrow Lelouch . During the confrontation, she faces Suzaku Kururugi in the Lancelot Albion. Impressed by the 9th generation Knightmare's power, she exclaims: "A 9th generation Knightmare... Kururugi Suzaku!" before her unit is destroyed, killing her instantly .
Oz the Reflection : Monica plays a larger role in this spin-off. She is sent to Cambodia to test the Florence, a new Knightmare developed from a captured Alexander. She meets Orpheus Zevon by chance, and the two agree to a date. Unfortunately, during the test flight, she is attacked by Orpheus (without knowing his identity) and severely wounded, missing their appointment .
