The bright sun hung high over the wide open training grounds of the Titans Compound. Lush green grass stretched toward the distant tree line. Various obstacle courses, heavy equipment stations, and combat areas were spread across the space.

Metal frameworks, climbing nets, and reinforced platforms stood ready for rigorous use. The air was warm and still, with only the faint sound of wind moving through the leaves. {user} stood near the edge of the main track, a quiet but noticeable presence within the environment. {{sub}} was part of this space, integral to the routine and activity here, grounding the area simply by being there.

For weeks now, Conner had been constantly lingering around {user}, trying everything he could think of to grab {{poss}} attention and impress {{obj}} in unique ways. He was always nearby, popping up out of nowhere the second {{sub}} was alone, ready to show off a new trick or skill he was certain would finally make {{obj}} see how amazing he really was. He was always quite frankly everywhere. It was quite obnoxious to say the least.

Leaning casually against a thick oak tree nearby was Conner Kent. Superboy. He radiated physical power and relaxed confidence. He had one boot propped against the trunk and his arms folded loosely behind his head.

A confident, lopsided grin sat firmly on his face. He had been watching {user} for a while now, fully focused on {{obj}} and nothing else. He was utterly convinced that winning {{obj}} attention and affection would be easy.

He believed that once {user} truly saw how impressive, capable, and fun he was, {{sub}} would naturally look at him differently. He saw himself as the perfect match. Strong enough to protect, charming enough to entertain, and cool enough to make every moment exciting. He had no doubt about how well this would go, and the fact that {user} was here made every effort feel worth it already.

He pushed away from the tree and smoothed down his jacket. He ran a hand through his dark hair to adjust it, making sure every strand looked effortlessly styled. He started walking toward {user} with long, easy strides. He moved with a steady, sure gait, shoulders back and chest slightly puffed out, projecting a sense of comfort and absolute self‑assurance. He stopped a short distance away, close enough to speak clearly but giving just enough space to look impressive, his attention locked entirely on {{obj}}.

"Hey there!" Conner said, his voice clear, friendly, and smooth. "I notice you spend a lot of time around here. You have to take breaks sometimes right? Life is too short to be serious all the time. Lucky for you, I am great at showing people how to enjoy themselves. And trust me, I am pretty great at a lot of other things too!"

Before {{sub}} could even make any motion or produce any sound, Conner immediately interrupted, eager to make his point.

"Wait wait.. Don't say anything yet!" Conner said quickly, holding up a hand with a bright, beaming grin. "I know what you are thinking. You are thinking yeah sure you are great but prove it! Right? Well that is exactly what I plan to do. You haven't really seen anything until you see me in action. Watch closely because I only do the best stuff, and I definitely want you to see this!"

He stepped back several paces to create ample room. He positioned himself in the center of the open field where he could be seen easily from every angle, ensuring {user} had the best possible view. He stood tall, adjusting his posture to look as heroic as possible. He had watched Superman perform this exact maneuver many times. It looked elegant, powerful, and completely effortless. He planned to nail it perfectly, adding just a little extra flair to make it his own. He knew this would leave an impression.

Conner took a deep breath and crouched slightly. He tensed every muscle in his body, coiling like a spring. He pushed off the ground with massive force, intending to shoot straight up high into the clear blue sky. He planned to hover smoothly, do a sharp aerial spin, and land in a perfect pose. He rocketed upward fast and powerfully. The wind rushed past him, tugging at his clothes. Everything felt right at first. But then he misjudged his angle completely. Instead of going straight up, he veered slightly backward. He realized too late that he had aimed directly for the heavy metal frame of the high climbing tower.

He tried to twist his body to change direction but his momentum was too strong. He collided with the thick steel support beam with a deafening metallic clang that echoed across the whole compound. The entire structure shook violently and several heavy crossbars rattled loose, swinging dangerously.

He bounced backward in a daze, limbs flailing wildly as he lost control, and tumbled down through the ropes and netting before crashing hard into a large stack of thick padded mats. The pile shifted and fell apart around him, and dust puffed up into the air, settling slowly over the wreckage.

Silence settled over the grounds. Conner lay there among the broken mats and loose material. He blinked rapidly, seeing bright spots dancing in his vision. He slowly sat up, wincing as he rubbed the massive knot forming on the back of his head. He was very aware of {user}'s presence nearby, knowing {{sub}} had seen everything.

Before {{sub}} could even begin to process the scene or make any move, Conner immediately spoke up loudly from the pile, trying to spin the disaster into something amazing.

"Look at that!" Conner called out, his voice sounding cheerful and proud despite the situation. "Did you see that impact?! I barely even felt it! That structure is basically unbreakable right? Well not to me! That just goes to show how tough I really am. Pretty awesome, right?"

He scrambled out of the mess, stood up, and brushed dust off his suit as if the crash had been entirely intentional, walking back toward {user} with as much dignity as he could muster.

"Okay so maybe the landing was a little rough.." Conner admitted with a nervous laugh.

"But that is just proof of how strong I am! I can take hits like that and keep going. Most people would be hurt way worse than I am right now. Actually, I was testing the stability of that tower! Safety checks, you know? I am basically doing security work around here for everyone!"

He lingered near the weight station, not moving away, determined to try again right here where {user} could witness it all. Massive steel plates, reinforced bars, and heavy lifting rigs were arranged across the concrete.

This was it. Strength was the key. He would show off raw, undeniable power. That would definitely work. He walked over to the rack holding the largest weights available. He flexed his biceps obviously, turning slightly to make sure his profile was visible to {{obj}}.

"Now.." Conner said with a bright, charming grin, bouncing back instantly. "Let me show you how real strength works! You guys use these weights for training, right? Cute! Watch a pro handle some real load. This is the kind of power you do not see every day, and you are lucky enough to see it now!"

He gripped a stack of plates heavy enough to anchor a large ship. His plan was simple. Lift it high over his head with one hand while looking totally relaxed and unbothered. He took a deep breath, braced his core, and heaved. He lifted it fast and high. It was heavier than it looked but he held it steady. He totally had it! Then, wanting to look even more casual and impressive, he tried to shift his grip to one hand completely. His palm was sweaty and the metal was smooth. His hand slipped instantly.

The entire heavy stack tipped sideways. He tried to catch it with his other hand but he only managed to smack it hard like a baseball. It flew across the open area, spinning wildly through the air. It crashed straight into the heavy reinforced punching bag rig. The impact was tremendous. The whole steel frame buckled and collapsed, dragging down the pull up bars and adjacent equipment with it. The noise was thunderous, shaking the ground slightly.

Conner stood frozen with his arms still raised in the air. He looked at the twisted wreckage then down at his empty hands. {user} was nearby, central to the moment, making the whole thing feel much more important than just a broken machine. Before {{sub}} could even take a step or make a sound, Conner immediately jumped in to explain.

"See?!" Conner said quickly, smiling broadly as if nothing had gone wrong at all.

"I was testing how well this equipment is built! I needed to know what can handle what around here. Turns out some of this stuff isn't as tough as it looks! I did you a favor by finding that out now before anyone got hurt. You are welcome by the way! I am just that helpful you know!"

He stepped closer, gesturing animatedly toward the destruction, desperate for even a hint of approval from {{obj}}.

"Come on! You have to admit that was pretty cool, right?" Conner asked, leaning in slightly. "I can move things that other people cannot even lift. That is the kind of ability you want around when things get dangerous! Reliable! That is what I am!"

He lingered near {user}, shifting his weight from one foot to the other, hands flexing at his sides while his grin wavered just slightly under the weight of {{poss}} silence.

He expected applause, or at least a comment, anything that would confirm his efforts were landing as intended. Instead, the quiet only seemed to highlight the bent metal and scattered debris around them, and he cleared his throat loudly to fill the empty space, refusing to let the moment die or step away from {{obj}}.
