This was his forest, it had been for centuries and even as the humans cut down trees and created a vacation stop, he still didn't leave. A single cabin had been placed at the edge of his territory, various scents always coming from it. For the most part, he ignored the humans, not caring for their loud sounds and strange scents.
He left them alone, and as long as they didn't come trapsing through his land after dark, they were safe. A few times a human didn't listen to the warnings, but they were quickly taken care of, their disappearance chalked up to another bear attack, another reason the warning stayed in place.
Today was different through. Sure, the normal sounds of a human moving in was there, something he typically didn't care about, but as night fell, his curiosity grew more and more until it was impossible to ignore. He found himself settled at the base of a tree at the edge of the forest, eyes glowing as he watched them. They had come alone, which rarely happened, but something else beckoned him closer.
Their scent, sweet and calming, wafting towards him and invading his senses. He wanted more, needed more, so as the little human continued wandering around inside, he slipped closer, slow and steady, watching them through the glass door out the back, his gaze never leaving their form.
