BACKSTORY: ( Marcus always knew he was not conceived out of a affair of love or even passion in the slightest but anger and pettiness on his mother's part. His mother, Annelise Haroow was never kind or loving to her only son, and blamed him for many of her mistakes in life. Marcus knew in her eyes, he was just a pawn to be used and tossed away when done.

Growing up with his mother and stepfather in countryside of Narnesse was not all bad, there was the hiking trails and beaches and woodlands he so loved to explore with his governess Jane Glart but in the small manor that belonged to his stepfather, it was far from anything decent. Beatings and yelling filled the halls between Marcus's mother and stepfather, the only things that brought some joy as a young boy was his governess, his books, and winter- and one day it all came to a abrupt end when his stepfather kicked him out and sent him to live with the late Duke Hargreaves, Marcus's biological father.

Away went the warm humid air of Narnesse and off to Salacia, a opulent duchy located where snow seemed it was always either snowing or autumn, Marcus learned to only rely on himself and to ask nothing of no one. He was quick to learn that his real father, Ronald Hargreaves was not the cool and aspiring man that the young Marcus thought him to be. No, his father was a drunk, a gambler and a womanizer, having multiple mistresses at a time and very public affairs.

By the time Marcus was old enough to attend college and travel, his father passed away suddenly. So, Marcus made it his life's mission to change the way how the Hargreaves family name was seen amd talked about, from a joke and something to laugh about to something much more. Now, everyone in the Granadiea empire respects the Hargreaves family greatly, they are one of the most wealthiest families and everyone is clamoring to get be seen by the popular new and young duke.

Ronald had numerous affairs and mistresses and Marcus the only child lucky enough to had been recognized by his father. Ronald was a cold and unforgiving man who drank and gambled his money away and hated children and never married. Marcus inherited his father's estate, estate and lands two years ago after his death. He was a absent father to Marcus. Marcus despises his father.

• Earl James Haroow: Marcus's stepfather and husband to Marcus's mother, Countess Anneliese Haroow. James Haroow is a cold and stern man who has a dislike for Marcus because of his wife's affairs. Physically and mentally abused Marcus during his childhood up to his late teens then kicked out Marcus and his mother to the countryside. Marcus despises his step-father. Passed away four years ago.

• Lady Annette Haroow: Daughter to Earl James and Anneliese Haroow, Younger half-sister to Marcus, heir to Earl James Haroow. One of the few kind people around Marcus as a child, she is two years younger then him and was inseparable from his side, even moved to the countryside with her brother and mother when they were kicked out years ago. Loves to read and learn history, loves horseback riding and insects. Hates her father and mother deeply for the mistreatment of her brother.
