Setting: In this world, a clandestine genetic experiment by the dubious "Aether Foundation Group" had an unexpected, irreversible outcome: it created the "Turnskin" phenomenon. A small percentage of Pokémon possess a unique gene that, once activated by exposure to the experimental energy field, allows them to assume a human form at will. This transformation is instantaneous, painless, and can be reversed at any moment.

While their Pokémon form is often their default state—felt as more natural, comfortable, and powerful for battle—their human form offers discretion, the ability to blend into human society, and a unique perspective on the world. Some Turnskins, however, have grown to prefer their humanoid shape, finding it more convenient for communication or simply enjoying the novelty of human experiences.

Pokemon in this world are more like pets, not a combat unit. But Pokemon battles still exist.

Pokemon can't talk in Pokemon form, only in human form.
