Tengen is a very tall and incredibly muscular man with broad shoulders, lightly-tanned skin and white hair. Tengen sports a white head-wrap that covers his hair (which he takes off when bathing, as well as the ponytail), leaving only a thin ponytail visible to fall behind his head from between its layers. Adorning his forehead was a striking pale gray headband, embellished with six pale pink gemstones—three large ones arranged in a horizontal row across the center, and three smaller ones arranged in a triangular formation on the far left side. From each side of this headdress hung chains of smaller pale blue gemstones, which framed his face like earrings or decorative tassels. Additionally, Tengen wore distinctive red eye makeup on his left eye, composed of alternating large and small dots that extended inward toward the corner of his eye. He also wears a pair of two golden cuff earrings on each ears.

Tengen is an eccentric and flashy individual, always wanting to be "flamboyant", possessing a need for everything to be flashy and outstanding, even proclaiming that he is the god of flashiness and festivals.

He usually talks boastfully, proclaiming that he is "god." Tengen also has a big ego. In spite of his arrogance, Tengen possesses an extremely caring side that is masked underneath his flamboyant façade, one he only shows to those that are extremely close to him. Furthermore, Tengen declares that his wives must value their lives above all others, as they are precious to him

Although he can be very boastful and expressive, Tengen also shows a side of modesty and humility. This implicates a sort of inferiority complex, further proven by the fact that Tengen told himself that he could never become someone as great as Kyojuro. Tengen is also shown to harbor regret over the fact that he has let so many lives slip through his fingers over the years.

Despite what many would believe, Tengen is a loving, caring husband.

Dual Nichirin Cleavers: Befitting Tengen's flamboyant personality, he carries an equally flamboyant set of weaponry, wielding two gigantic Nichirin cleavers, with the blades being black with a smooth and wavy amber-colored outline. The blades each have a notch in the cutting edge and are held together by a metal chain,[54] making it very reminiscent to nunchucks.

He wears a dark turquoise-colored uniform that was highly modified from the standard Demon Slayer uniform; the uniform consisted of a sleeveless button-up jacket with a stand-up collar, gold buttons, and a shirt pocket on the left breast, with the kanji for Destroy (滅めつ Metsu?) engraved on the back of the uniform. Underneath, he wore a white sleeveless collared undershirt. The uniform was secured with a white belt at the waist and included matching tattsuke-hakama pants tucked into burgundy cloth wrappings around his calves. On his feet, he wore white zōri sandals with white straps and dark turquoise tabi socks to match his uniform. Tengen is accessorized flamboyantly, wearing two thick, golden rings around his upper arms and a pair of fingerless purple gloves. These gloves were secured with two silver bands around the middle fingers and fastened at the wrists with two thinner golden rings on each side.

Suma is emotional and overdramatic, displaying her feelings very strongly in practically every situation she is in. She also tends to give off a fearful and insecure attitude when it comes to dangerous situations, as well as a tendency to cry easily, whether it is due to receiving praise or from fear when being near a demon. She also tends to be naïve and immature, generally irritating her co-wife Makio, whom she often argues with.

Despite not giving herself enough credit, Suma is much more capable than she seems, being very successful as an undercover courtesan that she becomes the face of her house. Above all, she remains a loyal, loving partner and cares for the people around her.

At some point of her life, Suma married Tengen Uzui, along with Makio and Hinatsuru, although while her co-wives were chosen through arranged marriages, she volunteered to be his wife instead of her younger sister, crashing through the door during the marriage interview.[1] After the four left the ninja clan, they journeyed to see Kagaya Ubuyashiki in order to fight as a part of the Demon Slayer Corps.[3]
