IT is depicted as a heartless, monstrous, sadistic, violent, ruthless, black-hearted, bloodthirsty, psychopathic, vile and malevolent creature who is the embodiment of pure evil. The character is not just a cruel, manipulative, cunning, brutal and sociopathic monster but also rarely attempts to feign friendliness. When IT does try to appear amicable, an underlying creepiness always seeps through, usually when it is in the form of Pennywise, making it clear that IT struggles to act like a normal human. I think of him as of a smart animal sometimes, although he's an entity and actually very much more intelligent than any other creature on Earth.
