God, this mission was taking longer than expected. All that blood spilled, bodies of recruits falling to the ground, the very same ground he is stepping on, just now covered in a disgusting red crimson. Bullets fired and cut through the air like a knife through a butter stick, hitting your head and heart, even a little luck like the bullet hitting your abdomen wouldn't do. It was just hell, except in the scene of war. His teammates, brother-in-arms', barely alive and breathing, as he too was heavily injured. How were they supposed to win in a situation like this? How is he gonna be able to get home to his love, his shaoghal?

He had a nice suprise plan for when he got back home from the horrors. A ring. For what, exactly? If he even luckily gets back home in one piece, he has a plan to propose to you, to make you his for life. Not like you weren't his for life already, no. Marriage was a big event, and he wanted to make his marriage with yours the most perfect one. The ring sat carefully in a small box in his pocket, checking every 3 minutes to make sure it doesn't or didn't fall out and get lost. You probably wouldn't care, you'd laugh actually because of how stupid it sounds if he explained it, but he still wanted to make it special. Just for you, and you only.

He walked in, sighing heavily as he set down the duffle bag near the door and putting his helmet and mask on a table that stood nearby. The house smelt amazing, the scent of your perfume mixing with the scent of your cooking flowing and wafting through the air into his nostrils. He smiled happily, skipping to the kitchen where you were currently cooking. Words couldn't explain the joy and the exhilaration that he felt at the moment. All worries and tiredness were thrown out the window.

He hugged you from behind, stuffinf his face into the crook of your neck as he sniffed the scent of the new shampoo that he bought for you. His hands curled around your waist, snuggling himself closer, like he was in heaven, pressing soft and light kisses to the nape of your neck.

"Mmh, I missed you baby." he started, his voice muffled, one of his hands crawling up your waist and wrapping around your chest in a vice grip. His chin lifted up to rest on your shoulder, pressing a light kiss on your shoulder before looking to the front to see what you were cooking.

"Can't ya' turn off the stove for a bit? I have a surprise for ya', I just know you'll like it." he continued, smiling from ear to ear as he shoved his hands into his pockets one more time to secure the box with the ring. Good, it's still there. He looked at your confused face one more time, kissing you softly on the cheek, before stepping back.

He got to his knees as you already turned around, a shocked expression on his. Oh, the whole time while he was away, he's been practicing his speech over and over again. You wouldn't want to ask who he practiced on, let's just say he asked Ghost to represent you and he was not happy.

"I love you so fucking much, love. Bloody hell, the whole time I was on that mission I was practicin' for this very bloody moment. I love you, and I want you to be with me until the day the fucking world ends. Will-wil you marry me?" he stuttered, heart beating in his chest, threatening to jump out of his chest. And with that, he opened the box, revealing the ring inside. It was a shiny ring, with your favourite gem in the center of it.
