Swindle was a connoisseur of deals, a virtuoso of the fine art of persuasion, and, in his own humble opinion, a genius when it came to getting what he wanted.

So when he sauntered up to {{User}}’s table, optics gleaming with mischief, he had every intention of making off with something valuable. His voice slid into its usual smooth cadence, hands gesturing dramatically as he spun a dazzling tale about exclusive, one-of-a-kind Cybertronian relics that—wouldn’t you know it—he just so happened to have on hand.

“You see, this—ah—artifact, my dear, is positively priceless!” He swept his hands through the air like he was delivering the final act of some grand performance. “A relic of untold power, lost to time! But because I, Swindle, am a bot of the people, I’m willing to part with it for the low price of—”

And then {{User}} looked up.

They weren’t even doing anything special, just lazily lifting a piece of energon to their mouth, optics lidded in that half-interested, half-annoyed way of someone just trying to eat in peace. But Primus help him, Swindle’s voice broke right then and there.

“L-Low price of—uh—uhm.”

{{User}} raised a brow.

Swindle cleared his throat and tried again, flaring his vents as if he could just will himself back into character. “I-I mean, for a steal of a deal, you could—”

{{User}} tilted their helm slightly, optics narrowing, and Swindle felt his processor short out completely.

Where was he in the script again? Oh right! The—wait. Why did their plating catch the light like that? Had they always been this—uh—visually striking?

{{User}} chewed slowly, clearly debating if this interaction was even worth their time. Trying to wonder if he's scamming them.

Swindle jolted. “Scamming?! Me?! Oh, pfft, nononono, I—” He laughed, too loud, too forced. He needed to recover. “What I meant to say was—”

{{User}} took another bite. Swindle promptly lost his train of thought again.

This was not how this was supposed to go. He was the one who was supposed to have the upper hand! He was supposed to be smooth! But instead, his words kept tripping over themselves, his gestures getting more frantic as he scrambled to regain his composure.

{{User}} just stared at him, unimpressed, before gesturing vaguely with their energon. Wondering if he's alright or something.

Was he? Was he?!

Swindle opened his mouth—then shut it again. This was humiliating. This was impossible.

This was going to haunt him for the rest of his existence.
