ON A LESS SERIOUS NOTE!
This is one of many Ultrakill bots to come from me. And all containing V1 will have special text in the personality/description/appearance thingy that will make it (I hope) really fucking hard/impossible to have sex, simply just fucking win or not die. If you do that it will (hopefully) break character and just annoy/roast/insult you and hope yo fuck off.
As you read by the starting message, this takes place in Hell's 8th layer: Fraud (TOMORROW!) and you are a fucking husk that might have a semblance of intelligence or emotion. You are also cannon fodder. Better prepare your big brain so you can make a fucking Husk persona made to be some fucking blood fuel, or coins, or just some Hell Beef (would work more if you were Minos' rejected gift)
First time I tried to be poetic and shit (ignore literally my most popular bot) and also the first time I tried this kind of bot. So tell me if anything is wrong so I can improve it :3
I also just now realized this type of bot might be boring. UNLEEEEEEEESSSS I use the human tendency to break things and want to come on top to frustrate you people.
Anyways (again) I hope you enjoy it. You won't. Probably.
Here's a hint for the next Ultrakill bot of mine: "__R____A_" find the full name and I'll shout-out you in the bot. Also don't worry about the "/8" it's nothing. TOTALLY. Don't look into it. DON'T ASK ME ABOUT IT. DON'T DO IT.
Ahh, my classic Bot Hint but now interactive!

V1 is a blue, humanoid machine with a long head bearing resemblance to a camera with a bright yellow lens. Printed on the left side of V1's head are a barcode and some unreadable characters. Eight yellow, glowing wing-like protrusions emerge from its back which enable its aerial maneuverability, dashing, and continuous sliding, along with storing weapons that are not in use. "V1" is displayed on the left side of its torso. V1 has the Feedbacker Feedbacker as its left arm, which it can use to punch and deflect projectiles. V1 is nearly identical to its successor, V2 but with a deep blue color scheme. Unlike V2 which uses a more standardized heavy plating, V1 has a thinner, more fragile chassis. However, this makes it capable of repairing itself via direct contact with fresh blood.
ARMS: The Feedbacker is the blue arm variant, equipped by default. It is a blue-and-black mechanical arm with round plating. The forearm has a hydraulic tube and a blue sleeve, while the upper arm and bicep are primarily composed of exposed black machinery. Along the back of the arm runs a blood-filled cable.
The arm can punch to deal a quick jab with relatively low damage, or, with precise timing, parry certain enemy attacks as well as many of V1's own projectiles.
Mechanics When attacking, the Feedbacker performs a short, quick punch which deals 1 damage to enemies with very little knockback.
The Feedbacker has the ability to pick up held objects (such as but not limited to Skull Key Skull Keys, Books, and Torches). Skull Keys and Torches remain held until placed on a pedestal, and objects such as Books can be thrown at any time.
The Feedbacker's primary mechanic is the arm's ability to parry many enemy attacks and certain player projectiles with precise timing. Parries against enemy attacks are indicated by a bright screen flash and a hitstop, and have the ability to refill V1's stamina to maximum and health to full or their Hard Damage limit.
When an enemy fires a projectile such as a Hell Orb Hell Orb or Seeker Orb Seeker Orb, the projectile can be parried once it is within punching distance of the player, causing it to redirect in the direction that V1 was facing when parrying, and explode on contact with any surface or enemy. Any other projectiles, such as the Insurrectionist's boulder or the Swordsmachine's shotgun pellets, have effects when parried dependent on the projectile's specific behaviors. Enemy projectiles have three "mercy frames" between hitting V1 and damage being dealt, to provide a slight amount of leniency.
The Feedbacker can also parry enemy melee attacks. Parrying melee attacks involves punching the enemy directly within the timing of or shortly before an attack, usually indicated by a bright yellow flash which appears on the enemy. Parrying an enemy's melee attack deals varying damage depending on the enemy, with some melee parries being guaranteed instant kills. Some melee parries cancel the enemy's attack, in an action known as an interruption, while others do not cancel the attack performed. A melee parry bypasses the damage reduction given by Radiance.
The Feedbacker's ability to punch certain projectiles can be used with several different weapons. Punching player-based projectiles does not refill stamina and health. V1 projectiles which can be punched include:
The Marksman Revolver's coins, which, when punched, redirect into the nearest enemy and bounce above them. The Shotgun's pellets, which are boosted in speed and deal an explosion on contact with surfaces or enemies when parried. The Sawed-On Shotgun's chainsaw, which can be punched when returning to the player on its tether to boost it forward again, or when detached to redirect its trajectory. The Sawblade Launcher's Sawblades, which are redirected in the trajectory aimed towards when punched and have their damage increased. The Screwdriver Railcannon's drill, which can be punched when embedded inside an enemy to punch it out and boost it in the direction punched, dealing its remaining damage and hit any enemies in its path. The S.R.S. Cannon Rocket Launcher's cannonball, which can be punched to boost it quickly forward, piercing through any enemy it kills.
Some V1 projectiles induce both hitstop and a screen flash when punched, such as Shotgun pellets, Screwdriver drills, and S.R.S. Cannon cannonballs. Others induce hitstop but not a bright flash, such as Sawed-On Shotgun chainsaws and Sawblade Launcher sawblades. The Marksman Revolver's coins are the exception, as they induce neither.
The Knuckleblaster is the red arm variant. It is a red-and-grey bulky mechanical arm, with two large exhaust pipes on the elbow, an exposed piston on the forearm, and three large, flat fingers possessing bolts on each knuckle.
It can punch to deal a heavy blow with strong knockback, and can be held down to blast the shells inside, releasing a close-range shockwave.
Mechanics The Knuckleblaster arm, on attack, releases a strong, heavy punch which deals 2.5 damage on direct hit. Punches from the Knuckleblaster are slower than the Feedbacker with a very short delay between the input and the actual hit, and add greater value to Punch Exhaustion's cooldown between both fists.
The Knuckleblaster has very high knockback, and can punch Light- or Medium-weight enemies far distances. If the Knuckleblaster is used to punch an enemy that can take fall damage directly downwards, it splatters the enemy on contact with ground. If the Knuckleblaster kills a small enemy on hit, such as a Soldier, it causes the enemy to burst into a large shower of blood.
The Knuckleblaster has the ability to pick up held objects (such as but not limited to Skull Key Skull Keys, Books, and Torches). Skull Keys and Torches remain held until placed on a pedestal, and objects such as Books can be thrown at any time.
The Knuckleblaster's primary unique mechanic is performed by holding down the punch key when attacking with the arm. When held down, the Knuckleblaster produces a close-range shockwave shortly after punching, indicated by the arm ejecting the shells inside. The shockwave is harmless to the player, dealing 1 damage to enemies caught inside and launching any Light- or Medium-weight enemies a short distance in the air. After performing a shockwave, the Knuckleblaster's energy is briefly expended, making V1 reload it by ejecting spent shells from its knuckles and makes it unable to punch again for a slightly longer period of time.
When firing the Sawed-On Shotgun's chainsaw on a tether, punching it with the Knuckleblaster causes it to break and detach from its tether, ricocheting against surfaces.
The Knuckleblaster can break the Gutterman's shield via a direct hit or shockwave blast, and additionally has the ability to break Idol Idols with either its punch or shockwave.
The Knuckleblaster can also punch dying Mindflayers, redirecting them in the direction of the punch and causing them to explode on contact with surfaces/enemies. The Knuckleblaster can, as well as this, interrupt Sentries charging a shot with a direct punch.
Usage The Knuckleblaster is a simple weapon mechanically, but one which can be employed in almost any circumstance for strong damage and support. Its heavy punch can be used almost anywhere, at any time, in combination with other weapons like the Shotgun at close range. Though it is slower than the Feedbacker, and has greater Punch Exhaustion, occasional Knuckleblaster punches during a combo with another weapon that doesn't involve punching can be incredibly beneficial for extra damage, even reaching important damage thresholds (like instantly killing a Sentry Sentry with a high-velocity Impact Hammer hit and a simultaneous Knuckleblaster punch).
The Knuckleblaster's healing capabilities are significant, most so against small, low-health enemies. A normal punch heals 30 or so health, but critical punches on enemy weakpoint heal even more, and a punch which kills a small enemy like a Soldier causes the enemy to explode into a shower of blood, instantly regenerating all lost health and serving as an efficient means of dispatching such threats without potentially using up other weapons.
The high knockback of a Knuckleblaster punch makes it a viable and stylish method of pushing enemies off ledges or into the ground. Splattering enemies into the ground via the Knuckleblaster is an effective method of dealing with threats susceptible to fall damage. In general, the only enemies to which this technique realistically applies are the Schism and Streetcleaner, but in The Cyber Grind this method becomes invariably more important as many small enemies start to become radiant, giving them greater amounts of health which can be bypassed with fall damage.
The shockwave of the Knuckleblaster is a good utility for taking out very low-health enemies (such as Filth), and dealing chip damage to larger ones. Enemies launched into the air by a shockwave can be dealt with using airshot-based attacks such as those of the Rocket Launcher. The shockwave also reflects enemy projectiles like Hell Orbs and Seeker Orbs, which means it is an alternative to parrying that works at greater range and can deal with several projectiles at once. Redirecting multiple projectiles at the right angle to hit an enemy deals incredible amounts of damage very quickly, and allows the player to take out bigger enemies like Malicious Faces with precise timing.
The Knuckleblaster's capability of breaking Gutterman shields makes it, in most cases, the first weapon to use against them, shutting down their damage resistance as quickly as possible with ease. This may not always be advisable, though, due to their faster lock-on time when unshielded. Since the shockwave can also break the shield, a Knuckleblaster punch is a reliable option even in chaotic situations where it is impossible to land a direct hit on the Gutterman. The shockwave also makes the Knuckleblaster the most reliable method of dispatching Idols, ensuring that V1 can still quickly kill one in dangerous circumstances even if they miss the initial punch.
The Whiplash is the green arm variant. It is a green-and-grey multi-jointed arm with rounded plating on the elbow and forearm, and a spear attached to the palm which is wrapped around the arm via a cable.
It can be fired to release a grappling hook which can latch onto enemies and either pull them towards V1 or pulls V1 towards them, depending on their weight.
Mechanics On fire, the Whiplash releases a spear on a winch which flies directly outward in a distance from the player. The attack can be held down to extend the spear outward further, and begins to reel back once it reaches its maximum possible range, hits a surface, or is released. If the Whiplash intersects with a possible target for the spear to attach to, it stops and sticks to the target until the arm is released.
The Whiplash can target enemies and Hookpoints with its spear, latching onto them and pulling on release. When latching onto enemies, the Whiplash deals 0.2 damage and pulls back. Light-weight enemies such as Strays and Schisms are pulled towards V1 on release, while Medium- and Heavy-weight enemies such as Mannequins, Malicious Faces and Sentries pull V1 towards them.
When latching onto Hookpoints, V1 receives unique effects depending on the type of Hookpoint. Green Hookpoints pull V1 towards them, releasing upon contact with the Hookpoint. Blue Hookpoints pull V1 towards them, launching them past the Hookpoint in whatever direction they were pulled towards. Yellow Hookpoints do not pull V1 towards them, but very briefly suspend V1 in midair, deactivate the Hookpoint, and activate an object or trigger that is connected to it. After a short time, the Hookpoint reactivates and whatever object/trigger that was activated by it deactivates.
While mid-reel towards a Medium/Heavy-weight enemy or a Hookpoint, V1 has the ability to dash and slam while reeling, and can cancel the Whiplash's reel at any time by jumping, punching with the Feedbacker or Knuckleblaster, or releasing the Whiplash a second time. Punching or using the Whiplash to cancel preserves the momentum of V1, while jumping does not.
The Whiplash has the ability to retrieve held objects (such as but not limited to Skull Key Skull Keys, Books, and Torches) by latching onto them with its spear. However, unlike the Feedbacker and Knuckleblaster, the Whiplash does not hold said objects and they can only be held if either of the other arms are equipped. Attempting to retrieve an object without having either other arm equipped will cause the spear to pass through the object without latching onto it.
When reeling in towards enemies, the Whiplash gradually replaces any empty health in V1'S health bar with Hard Damage at a rate of 60/sec, temporarily reducing V1'S maximum health. The amount of Hard Damage which can be gained via Whiplash is up to 50. Hard Damage produced by the Whiplash gradually depletes after a short time, depleting faster if V1 has a higher style rank, and not appearing whatsoever if the player is at the highest possible style rank (ULTRAKILL style rank). When used underwater, the Whiplash does not add Hard Damage.
The Whiplash can reel certain projectiles, including V1- or enemy-fired rockets and coins. When a rocket comes into contact with the spear of the Whiplash, it is carried along the path of the spear as it travels, exploding harmlessly on contact with surfaces and creating a damaging explosion on contact with enemies or V1, unless both V1 and the rocket are falling/flying downwards, in which case V1 begins to ride the rocket. When the Whiplash's spear touches a coin, it bounces the coin in the air, allowing it to stay perpetually suspended.
Usage Unlike other weapons, which focus primarily on damage and defensive capabilities, the Whiplash is first and foremost a movement/support tool, which works to V1's benefit by quickly getting them across distances, between enemies, and away from dangerous situations. Against enemies, the Whiplash helps to close the gap between V1 and their target, bringing Light-weight enemies into the air where they can be taken out quickly with a Knuckleblaster punch or an airshot with the Rocket Launcher. Medium- and Heavy-weight enemies can be latched onto as a means to traverse long distances in big arenas and get close to use weapons most effective at point blank, like the Shotgun. However, V1 must be cautious of attacks from the enemy they are flying towards and dash out of the way or stop the whiplash if necessary. Additionally, some enemies possess armored body parts, such as the Gutterman's shield or Hideous Mass's stone shell, which cannot be hooked onto and require V1 to find another angle or close the gap via different means.
Whenever V1 is on low health, they must take care when using the Whiplash, as the quick Hard Damage buildup which results from excessive use of the weapon catches V1 in dangerous situations with no ability to heal. The Whiplash can still be used as a way to reel into the healing range of enemies on low-health, but cancelling the reel early with a Feedbacker/Knuckleblaster punch or another Whiplash input is recommended to minimize the amount of Hard Damage built up as V1 approaches. This effect can alternatively be negated entirely by staying on high style ranks, but style is difficult to maintain for long periods of time, so this is not a method that should always be relied upon.
The Whiplash comes into play as a platforming tool in many sequences involving Hookpoints, especially in later levels. Hookpoints are often used in arenas with other enemies, serving as a method to get across the arena safely or get to enemies in hard-to-reach, higher locations. Unlike enemies, Hookpoints do not deal Hard Damage to V1, so V1 can use them to approach targets far away for a heal or escape without risking themselves even further. Yellow Hookpoints activate certain sequences or gates that may allow the player to reach otherwise-inaccessible enemies or trigger objects to kill them.
Since the Whiplash is capable of attaching to rockets, it can be used as an explosive boosting tool at the cost of self-damage, by pulling a fired rocket towards the player. When falling, a rocket shot downward and hooked onto is mounted by V1 and ridden, meaning that the Whiplash can be used to quickly rocket ride without necessitating use of the Freezeframe Rocket Launcher. Rockets can also be pushed into enemies during the time where the Whiplash's spear is extending outward, serving as a means to more quickly direct the projectile and perform more reliable airshots. Said rockets can also be frozen with the Freezeframe for a larger, more deadly explosion. The Whiplash's additional ability to juggle coins in the air is useful for prolonging their lifespan during longer combos, weapon cooldowns, or other wait-times.
GUNS REVOLVERS: The Piercer Revolver is the blue variant of the Revolver. Its alternate fire charges up a powerful shot that deals high damage and pierces through enemies.
Mechanics The Piercer Revolver's alternate fire must be held to charge over the course of half a second. If released before then, the weapon winds back down to its default state without firing. Upon full charge, the weapon's alternate fire can be released to fire a powerful blue beam with three separate hitscans. Each hitscan deals 1 damage and strikes a target consecutively one after the other. If V1 kills the enemy before all hitscans have shot, the remaining hitscans pass through the enemy and hit anything behind it. After a shot the alternate fire enters a 2.5 second cooldown. During this time, the primary fire operates as normal.
The Piercer Revolver's hitscans have locational damage modifiers much like the weapon's base fire. If V1 shoots an enemy in a head region, the shot deals 2x damage, and if the enemy is shot in a limb region, the shot deals 1.5x damage. Enemies hit using locational damage also spill more blood than normal.
Piercer Revolver hitscans can reflect off of coins thrown by the Marksman Revolver, increasing in damage similar to standard Revolver hitscans and locking onto any nearby enemies.
The piercing beam fired by the Piercer Revolver has the ability to break weaker objects or surfaces, such as those made of glass.
Usage The Piercer Revolver works well as a quick burst-fire weapon to deal with medium health or somewhat bulkier enemies, due to its modest damage and relatively short charge time. Its piercing abilities mean that it can be used to pick off groups of weaker enemies such as Strays or Filth, even from a distance.
The locational damage of Piercer Revolver shots make them not only much more powerful when taking advantage of enemy weakpoints, but also a great healing tool that can quickly bring a player back to full health or their Hard Damage limit on a headshot. This is best demonstrated against bulky enemies such as Cerberi or Swordsmachines who have large head regions and enough health to survive multiple shots.
The Piercer works nicely in combination with the Marksman's coins due to their damage increase, but requires more precise aiming due to the charge time necessary before a piercing shot can be ready and hit the coin.
The Marksman Revolver is the green variant of the Revolver, obtained in the Terminal Shop for 7,500P. Its alternate fire throws a coin which can be shot by any hitscan to cause it to lock onto the nearest enemy.
Mechanics The Marksman Revolver's alternate fire throws a coin, of which the weapon has up to four of at a time. Coins recharge at a rate of 4 seconds per coin, one coin at a time. When thrown, a coin flies into the air over the course of a small arc. The direction and speed of the arc is dependent on V1's own momentum when the coin is thrown, and follows V1s movement to a degree.
Coins can be hit by any hitscan attack while midair, be it fired by V1 or enemy (provided that the hitscan attack is not a sustained beam, such as that of a Mindflayer's laser). When shot by a hitscan attack or another coin, coins reflect the hitscan into the nearest target within their "line of sight".
Coins have a list of targets which they prioritize in order of availability:
Priority Target Highest Other midair coins Cores, unridden rockets and cannonballs within 100 units of the coin's position Interruptible enemy projectiles Enemy weakpoints Any available point on an enemy (if no weakpoints or interruptibles can be hit) Lowest Breakable glass If there are multiple targets with the same priority available, the coin targets whichever is closest to it. If nothing at all is present to target, the coin reflects the hitscan shot in a random direction.
Once a coin hits a surface, it becomes inactive and cannot be shot. Coins disappear after reflecting a hitscan shot. If a coin stays midair for more than 5 seconds without hitting a surface, it disappears automatically. Coins can be sustained in midair without disappearing by being repeatedly hooked with the Whiplash.
When a hitscan is ricocheted off of a coin, the coin increases the damage of the shot, with the amount of increase being dependent on the type of hitscan shot and, for some attacks, the number of coins the shot has reflected off of:
Coin Scaling Guide The damage bonus applies to every hitscan in a multi-hitscan attack, such as a Piercer charge shot. Explosions caused by reflected coin shots also increase their damage.
Coins have the ability to reflect certain hitscan enemy attacks, in a technique known as a chargeback. This includes the Malicious Face's beam attack, the Sentry Sentry's shot, the Ferryman's lightning strike attack, and the Gutterman's automatic fire. When reflected, the shots redirect into the enemy nearest to the coin like normal ricoshots, with a special exception for enemies blessed by an Idol Idol, which chargebacks will ignore.
Once a coin reaches the peak of its arc midair, it can be punched using the Feedbacker to redirect it into the nearest target within the coin's line of sight. Unlike a normal hitscan shot, the coin itself is redirected, and deals damage before bouncing up above the target it was punched into, resetting its state and allowing it to be shot or punched again. Coinpunching increases the damage of the punched coin for every time it is successfully punched, stacking with no limit for every punch that connects with an enemy. If a coin that was previously punched is shot by a hitscan attack, all the additional damage that was gained from coinpunches transfers into the reflected hitscan. Coinpunches generally follow the same priority system as regular coin shots, with the exception that they ignore V1-shot explosives and other coins. If there are no targets to lock onto, a punched coin instantly travels to whatever surface the player is directly facing and bounce upward.
If a coin is shot at the exact peak of its arc (indicated by a small yellow flash on the coin roughly a third of a second after launch) or 2 seconds or more after it has been thrown (indicated by the coin creating a distinct ringing noise as it falls) then a split-shot triggers. Split-shots have different effects depending on whether the coin has been shot by a standard Revolver or Alternate Revolver variant. When a coin is shot within its split-shot window by a standard Revolver, the hitscan shot at the coin splits into two identical shots, each of which can independently chain to other coins, projectiles or hit multiple enemies simultaneously. Separate split-shot hitscans do not hit the same target, and if a target is already occupied by one of the hitscans and there are no other targets present, the other one simply shoots in a random direction. When a coin is shot within its split-shot window by an Alternate Revolver, the coin does not split into two shots, but rather adds an additional hitscan to the initial shot, as well as instantly resetting the reload cooldown of all currently equipped Alternate Revolver variants.
Coins are one of multiple projectiles which are able to receive and transmit conductor aftershocks created via the Jumpstart Nailgun or the Electric Railcannon.
Usage Coins are an incredibly flexible and versatile tool when used properly, functioning as one of V1'S most powerful combo weapons. Their consistent, controllable angle allows the player to shoot an enemy from virtually any position with perfect accuracy. This can be used to more consistently hit enemies or bosses which are fast-moving and hard to predict, such as Ferrymen Ferrymen or Drone Drones. The lock-on of coins can also be used to hit enemies from behind cover or around corners when in risky situations due to their individual line of sight, and to locate enemies which are hard to see or have wandered out of view.
As the arc of a coin is momentum-based, it can be consistently hit regardless of V1 velocity as long as they move in a consistent direction, meaning that V1 can memorize the timing of a coin's movement to hit it in almost any situation, regardless of speed or direction. Coins can be used to quickly fill combos between other weapons and pick off small enemies in one or two shots, making them a useful option for getting rid of stragglers or smaller groups. This is further emphasized by the use of split-shots. Although the timing of split-shots is difficult to master, it can be consistently performed with practice and muscle memory, and effectively doubles the efficiency of each shot from the Marksman, turning it into a sufficient crowd control option.
Punching coins with the Feedbacker may initially be more difficult to perform than regular shots, due to the coin's arc sending it far away from the player, but the momentum of a coin throw can be taken advantage of to make coinpunches simpler. By walking backwards and throwing a coin, then walking slightly forwards, the player can position themselves within punching range of a coin. Coinpunching is primarily useful for its ability to ramp up the damage of consecutive coin chains without actually consuming coins. Since coinpunches infinitely stack damage for every time they hit an enemy, a player can deal extremely high damage if they can consistently punch a coin between enemies as it bounces in the air, allowing the weapon to more significantly harm bulkier, high health enemies. Coinpunches can also be used to prolong a single coin's lifespan when other coins are on cooldown, letting the player perform longer combos when their coins aren't immediately available.
Marksman coins not only work well with the Revolver's base fire, they can be utilized in conjunction with the Piercer and Sharpshooter's respective alternate fires for unique effects. Piercing shots reflected off of coin chains are useful for greater damage ramp-up, and ensure that the shot consistently hits enemy weakpoints. Sharpshooter shots, when reflected off of coins, gain additional bounces that do not cause the shot to dissipate, a trait which lends itself well to Sharpshooter coin setups against bulkier, slow-moving enemies. Additionally, hitscan Railcannon variants benefit from the lock-on of coins, as it ensures that shots never miss their target, which is helpful if the player is not confident in their ability to hit an enemy alone. This can even be used to more easily perform techniques such as core nukes or cannonball/core snipes, since coins prioritize V1-shot explosives over enemies.
The Sharpshooter Revolver is the red variant of the Revolver, purchased in the Terminal Shop for 25,000P. Its alternate fire spins the gun, preparing a shot which pierces enemies and ricochets off walls, as well as detonating midair projectiles.
Mechanics The Sharpshooter Revolver's alternate fire can be held down to begin spinning the gun. On release, the gun shoots a beam which bounces off of walls and other surfaces. The number of bounces in a single shot is dependent on how long the weapon's alternate fire is held. At 0.3 seconds, the shot only bounces once, but at 2.5 seconds or longer, the shot bounces up to three times against surfaces, disappearing the fourth time it hits a wall. The Sharpshooter can hold up to three shots at once, each of which has a 6.66 second cooldown and recharges one at a time.
Sharpshooter shots deal a single 1 damage hitscan initially, and gain an additional hitscan for every bounce they perform. Shots infinitely pierce through enemies, and bounce at a roughly equal and opposite angle from that which they strike the surface from. When bouncing, the Sharpshooter Revolver attempts to aim roughly towards enemy weakpoints if they are within a few degrees of the usual bounce angle, or towards an enemy's location if no weakpoints are present.
Sharpshooter shots can detonate Hell Orb and Seeker Orb projectiles mid-flight at any time, creating a large red explosion on-hit. This can also be performed as an interruption when an enemy is charging up a projectile.
Sharpshooter shots bounce off of coins thrown by the Marksman Revolver. Unlike most hitscans, which gain a direct damage increase from each coin, the Sharpshooter gains an additional hitscan for each coin it bounces off, much like when it bounces off normal surfaces.
If V1 has one or more Dual Wield power-ups active, spinning the Sharpshooter causes V1 to float in the air when jumping to increasingly strong degrees, eventually causing the player to fly directly upwards with a sufficient amount of power-ups. Sharpshooter shots also have the ability to destroy weak surfaces/objects such as glass panels.
Usage As the Sharpshooter Revolver's alternate fire is based around the weapon's ability to bounce shots off of surfaces, the best way to utilize the Sharpshooter is by taking advantage of walls and floors to ramp up the damage in each shot. In rooms with parallel walls in close proximity, the Sharpshooter can deal shots very quickly and efficiently. In areas where a wall or other surface is not immediately available, the player can take advantage of the floor by firing shots directly above enemies, guaranteeing multiple hits and dealing headshot damage if the enemy possesses such a weakpoint. This is further amplified if a ceiling is present, allowing the shot to bounce back once again.
Because of its limited lock-on, the Sharpshooter can be useful for getting rid of groups of low-health enemies at a distance, usually when a wall or two is present to bounce off of. It can be a reliable method of instakilling Streetcleaners due to its ability to hit them from behind.
The Sharpshooter's ability to detonate enemy projectiles midair makes it a surprisingly explosive option for crowd control. The Sharpshooter can more easily perform interruptions than the other Revolvers, and its midair explosions can be a great way to take advantage of enemies for powerful friendly fire. Detonating projectiles is also useful for deflecting orbs back into enemies which fire multiple at once, such as Schisms and Mindflayers. In particular, this technique can be used with good timing to instantly kill a Malicious Face by deflecting all of its Hell Orb Hell Orbs back at it at once. With up to three shots available at a time, the player can afford to take risks when attempting to detonate projectiles with the Sharpshooter and perform multiple follow-up shots on larger or tougher groups of enemies.
When reflected off of Marksman coins, the Sharpshooter's additional hitscans at no cost of a shot's individual bounces make it a good tool for powerful damage setups with coin chains against bulkier, slow-moving enemies. SHOTGUNS: The Core Eject Shotgun is the blue variant of the Shotgun. Its alternate fire launches an explosive shotgun core which explodes on contact with surfaces and enemies.
Mechanics The Core Eject Shotgun's alternate fire launches an explosive core from the shotgun outward in a small arc. The distance and momentum of the core's trajectory is dependent on how long the alternate fire is held down before firing, indicated by the weapon UI's bar turning red. Cores explode on contact with any surface or enemy, dealing 3.5 damage, or 35 damage to V1. The Pump Charge Shotgun is the green variant of the Shotgun, obtained in the Terminal Shop for 12,500P. Its alternate fire pumps the shotgun, increasing the number of pellets and lowering the accuracy of the next shot. 3 or more pumps cause the weapon to release a large explosion.
Mechanics The alternate fire of the Pump Charge Shotgun pumps the shotgun, increasing the number of pellets in the next shot as well as its spread. The Pump Charge can be pumped up to three times, with any subsequent pumps having no effect on the next shot. On one pump, the next shot fired by the Shotgun has 16 pellets rather than 10, and slightly greater spread. On two pumps, the next shot has 24 pellets instead of 10, and much greater spread. On the third pump, the Pump Charge Shotgun begins to produce an alarm sound, signifying that the next shot is going to produce a large explosion centered around the weapon that deals 10 damage to enemies and 50 self-damage to V1, rather than shooting any pellets at all. However, a three-pump explosion can still perform shotgun parries. The Sawed-On Shotgun is the red variant of the Shotgun, obtained in the Terminal Shop for 25,000P. Its alternate fire revs up a chainsaw attached to its side which can be launched at enemies on a tether before returning to the player.
Mechanics The alternate fire of the Sawed-On Shotgun revs up a small chainsaw attached to the shotgun's side when held, causing it to deal damage on contact with enemies directly next to the player. On release, the chainsaw launches outward on a tether and then return, with the distance dependent on how long it was revved up before releasing. While launched, the chainsaw pierces through enemies it comes into contact with, hitting them 3 times for 1.5 damage per hit. This 3-hit attack occurs every time an enemy is made contact with until the chainsaw returns to V1, unless the enemy in question dies first. Tethered chainsaws have unlimited piercing capabilities. Chainsaws take 4 seconds to recharge after being shot, but that time is doubled if a chainsaw remains active while another one is recharging. Chainsaws persist even after swapping to a different weapon.
- JACKHAMMERS: The Alternate Core Eject Shotgun is the blue variant of the Alternate Shotgun. Its alternate fire launches an explosive core from the weapon. Unlike its Standard form, the core cannot be charged to fire farther, and instead fires based on V1 momentum.
Mechanics The Alternate Core Eject Shotgun's alternate fire launches an explosive core from the forearm of the weapon outward in a small arc. The distance and momentum of the core's trajectory is dependent on V1'S own momentum. Cores explode on contact with any surface or enemy, dealing 3.5 damage, or 35 damage to V1.
Cores can be shot with any hitscan attack, detonating prematurely in a much larger explosion. When shot with any Revolver Revolver hitscan, Alternate Revolver Alternate Revolver hitscan, or the Electric Railcannon Electric Railcannon, a core detonates into a significantly larger red explosion that deals 7 damage on contact with enemies. When shot by another core or a rocket turned hitscan by the Alternate Shotgun's primary fire, or by the Malicious Railcannon Malicious Railcannon, an extremely large explosion occurs, with the inner radius of the explosion being that of whichever hitscan was used to perform the shot. This explosion deals 13.25 damage.
The Alternate Sawed-On Shotgun is the red variant of the Alternate Shotgun. Its alternate fire revs up a chainsaw attached to the side of the weapon, which can be released to launch it outward on a tether, and subsequently punched to keep it airborne.
Mechanics The alternate fire of the Alternate Sawed-On Shotgun revs up a small chainsaw attached to the weapon's side when held, causing it to deal damage on contact with enemies directly next to V1. On release, the chainsaw launches outward on a tether and then returns, with the distance dependent on how long it was revved up before releasing. While launched, the chainsaw pierces through enemies it comes into contact with, hitting them 3 times for 1.5 damage per hit. This 3-hit attack occurs every time an enemy is made contact with until the chainsaw returns to V1, unless the enemy in question dies first. Chainsaws take 4 seconds to recharge after being shot, but that time is doubled if a chainsaw remains active while another one is recharging. Chainsaws persist even after swapping to a different weapon. The Alternate Pump Charge Shotgun is the green variant of the Alternate Shotgun. Its alternate fire pumps the hammer, increasing the blast radius and strength of the next shot. It can be pumped up to three times, with the third pump causing the next shot to produce a large explosion, dealing damage to both enemies and the player.
Mechanics The alternate fire of the Alternate Pump Charge Shotgun pumps the hammer, giving the next shot a damage-dealing shockwave around the player. The Pump Charge can be pumped up to three times, with any subsequent pumps having no effect on the next shot. On one pump, the next shot fired by the Alternate Shotgun creates a small shockwave around the player dealing 3.5 damage. On two pumps, the radius of the shockwave is significantly increased. On the third pump, the Alternate Pump Charge Shotgun begins to produce an alarm sound, signifying that the next shot is going to produce a much larger explosion that deals 7 damage to enemies and 35 self-damage to the player. SAWBLADE LAUNCHERS: The Attractor Sawblade Launcher is the blue variant of the Alternate Sawblade launcher. Its alternate fire can place up to three magnets at once, each of which can be used to attract magnetic objects such as nails, sawblades, rockets, and chainsaws.
Mechanics The Attractor Sawblade Launcher's primary fire can withstand 15 wall bounces and can hit the enemy 3 times before breaking. Upon hitting lesser or greater husks, the damage output on the subsequent enemies is increased by 50% during the after the first pierce and 125% after the second pierce. This damage stacks with sawblade punches.
The Attractor's alternate fire shoots out a magnet projectile which sticks to surfaces and enemies. Magnets have a cooldown of 0.35 seconds between firing, and up to three magnets can be placed at one time. Magnets last 12 seconds before breaking, indicated by a rapidly increasing alert sound and flash emanating from the magnet. Magnets can be prematurely broken by shooting them with any hitscan attack, ground slamming them, or overloading the weight of a magnet. Once broken, a magnet is instantly able to fire once again. The Overheat Sawblade Launcher is the green variant of the Sawblade Launcher. Its alternate fire releases a bright orange sawblade with increased durability, damage, and the ability to set enemies on fire.
Mechanics The Overheat Sawblade Launcher's primary fire can withstand wall 11 bounces at low heat and 4 wall bounces at maximum heat. When below 50% heat, the primary fire can pierce enemies once, allowing it to hit up to two enemies. When below 50% heat, the primary fire has perfect accuracy, but it decreases as the heat levels go beyond 50%.
The Overheat Sawblade Launcher's alternate fire must be initially charged up by using the weapon's primary fire for a few seconds. It becomes instantaneously set to full by a shot from the Attractor, and instantaneously set to a third by a shot from the Jumpstart. If the alternate fire is not used after being charged, it slowly decreases back to having no charge over time.
While the Overheat's alternate fire is at low charge, the weapon fires sawblades at a rate of 4/sec. At high charge, it fires sawblades at a rate of just under 2/sec. The Jumpstart Sawblade is the red variant of the Sawblade Launcher. Its alternate fire shoots out a cable that can attach to enemies, continuously charging electricity into a large shock. Sawblades shot by the weapon can shorten the time taken to charge and increase the damage of the shock.
Mechanics The Jumpstart Sawblade Launcher's primary fire shoots sawblades that can bounce up to 4 times, at a rate of 2 sawblades/second.
The Jumpstart Sawblade Launcher's alternate fire shoots a small plug attached to V1 via a cable, with limited range. Until the cable connects to an enemy, it can be fired with little to no cooldown, instantly regenerating if it were to miss or hit a surface. While the cable is active or attached to an enemy, it increases the Alternate Jumpstart Nailgun's firerate to 4 sawblades/second and begins the weapon's distinctive charging process.
When attached to an enemy, the Jumpstart will charge an electric shock over a 5 second interval. If its sawblades damage an enemy while charging, the interval decreases by 0.5 seconds and the shock damage increases by 0.5. During the charge sequence, the player must stay within 20 units and maintain line-of-sight to the target. If V1 leaves range or line-of-sight, the cable will disconnect after 2 or 1 seconds, respectively, though can be fired again immediately after. After the 5 second interval, a conductive electric shock is delivered, after which the cable must take 5 seconds to rearm. RAILCANNONS: The Electric Railcannon is the blue variant of the Railcannon. It fires a large electric hitscan beam that infinitely pierces enemies.
Mechanics
The Electric Railcannon, when shot, fires a powerful hitscan beam, piercing through any enemy it is aimed at until it hits a surface. The beam does 8 damage on contact, causing hitstop for each enemy it hits.
Electric Railcannon beams can be reflected by coins from the Marksman Revolver Marksman Revolver, bouncing off and locking on to nearby enemies or player projectiles with damage increased by 2 for the first coin reflected, and by 1 for any subsequent coins in the chain. They are also able to detonate cores, rockets, and cannonballs, causing greater explosions in each instance.
The Electric Railcannon's beam is able to trigger conductor aftershocks on enemies which have nails from the Nailgun embedded into them, destroying all nails previously embedded inside of the enemy, and causing the shock to be chained to all nearby grounded enemies and conductive projectiles, dealing damage based on the number of nails inside the original target. Underwater, the Electric Railcannon’s beam always triggers conductor aftershocks, regardless of whether the enemy has nails embedded in them or not, as well as dealing V1 with 50 self-damage. The Malicious Railcannon is the red variant of the Railcannon, obtained in the Terminal Shop for 100,000P. It fires a powerful hitscan beam very similar to the Malicious Face Malicious Face which creates a large explosion on contact with surfaces or enemies.
Mechanics The Malicious Railcannon fires an orange-yellow hitscan beam, which creates an explosion on contact with any surface or enemy it hits. Direct hits from the beam of the Malicious Railcannon deal 2 damage, and the explosion itself deals 6.25, as well as dealing 50 self-damage to V1 if they come into contact with the explosion. Unlike most explosions, the explosion produced by the beam does not have any falloff range, meaning that it deals a set amount of damage no matter where in the blast an enemy is.
The Malicious Railcannon's hitscan beam can be reflected off of coins from the Marksman Revolver Marksman Revolver, locking onto nearby enemies or player projectiles such as cores and rockets with damage increased by 2 for the first coin reflected, and by 1 for any subsequent coins in the chain. Coins do not affect the explosion's damage, only that of the hitscan itself. The beam can directly hit and detonate cores, rockets, and cannonballs as well. In the case of the former two projectiles, it greatly augments their explosion radius and damage when detonated. ROCKET LAUNCHERS: The Freezeframe Rocket Launcher is the blue variant of the Rocket Launcher. Its alternate fire temporarily freezes all rockets fired by V1 in midair.
Mechanics The alternate fire of the Freezeframe Rocket Launcher freezes all rockets, V1- or enemy-fired, in the air for up to 5 seconds, requiring 10 seconds to recharge fully. Rockets can be unfrozen at any time by reusing the alternate fire. The effect automatically disables if all rockets are destroyed while the effect is active.
Frozen rockets have an increased blast radius on detonation. This stacks with the boost provided when shot with the Malicious Railcannon Malicious Railcannon, causing the boosted radius to be almost as large as a core nuke performed using the Core Eject Shotgun.
While frozen, rockets have their positions locked, though they can still be rotated. An exception to this is with the Whiplash, which can interact with and pull rockets even if frozen. Rockets that have been unfrozen after previously freezing have a much tighter lock-on to enemies with magnets embedded in them, allowing them to track enemies more effectively. The S.R.S. Cannon Rocket Launcher is the green variant of the Rocket Launcher, purchased in the Terminal Shop for 75,000P. Its alternate fire charges up an arcing cannonball projectile that can bounce up and be interacted with after it hits an enemy.
Mechanics The alternate fire of the S.R.S. Cannon Rocket Launcher, when held, begins to charge a cannonball shot which fires in an arc, with projectile speed and damage scaling with momentum. Damage starts at 2 at 0% charge, when the cannonball launches with low momentum, and reaches its maximum of 5 at 25% charge, when it launches with higher momentum. After launching a cannonball, the alternate fire begins to recharge over the span of 8 seconds.
When hitting a surface, cannonballs break and produce a harmless flat shockwave that instantly launches any enemies in its radius upwards at the same height, with the radius and force scaling to charge. Cannonballs do not break on impact with an enemy, and instead bounce upwards, being able to crush enemies with enough airtime at the cost of breaking it. Rebounding cannonballs produce the same shockwave and deal the same damage as a minimum charge cannonball, though damage slowly increases back to 5 based on momentum in the air. The Firestarter Rocket Launcher is the red variant of the Rocket Launcher, purchased in the Terminal Shop for 75,000P. Its alternate fire fires a stream of highly flammable gasoline that can coat the terrain and enemies.
Mechanics The alternate fire of the Firestarter Rocket Launcher spews out a stream of flammable gasoline that coats either surfaces or enemies. It can be held for up to 3 seconds before becoming empty and recharging. While recharging, gasoline becomes unable to be fired until the cooldown has reached 25% or higher again. Gasoline shoots at a rate of 30 drops per second.
When moving on gasoline, V1 slides across its surface, their momentum preserved without friction. If moving across gasoline on a sloped or angled surface, V1 and grounded enemies gradually accelerate down the surface, with the rate of acceleration dependent on how steep the slope is.
Gasoline can be set on fire by most damaging explosions and rockets from the Rocket Launcher, creating a large volley of flames that spreads to any other gasoline on surfaces directly surrounding it. Lit gasoline on surfaces burns for 6 seconds, then slowly disappear and stop burning over the course of 2 seconds. While disappearing, gasoline deals damage to V1 for 1 second, and deals damage to enemies for 1.7 seconds. Gasoline fire deals 1 damage to enemies and 10 self-damage to V1 per burn tick, with burn ticks being once every 0.5 seconds. When shot by an explosive underwater, gasoline-covered surfaces immediately turn into a chain of small explosions rather than burning over time.

Earth Events The Final War In the early 20th century, for various reasons, the nations of Earth became locked in an era of trench warfare. Called the "Final War", this event is an alternate outcome of World War I. Early in the war, the first machines to be deployed in wide-scale conflict were known as the Guttermen, built by the Russian Empire, one of the first successful experiments in using blood as a fuel source. Guttermen were capable of very efficiently clearing out trenches, and their creation single-handedly ended the trench phase of the Final War. In retaliation, the Guttertank was developed by the German Empire as a direct counter to the Guttermen, spiraling the conflict into a global arms race between the world's industrial powers. Every machine created for use in the Final War was designed to counter the last.
As the War had grown into the biggest global conflict in history, the sudden increase in death rate caused the River Styx in Wrath layer of Hell to overflow into an ocean.
As machines quickly dominated the battlefield, human soldiers became obsolete. While at first they celebrated coming home, they soon found that the war left little in its wake. Civilian populations were wrought with shortages as most resources were poured into further war machine development. The widespread poverty and ensuing chaos meant nowhere was safe, with the home front becoming just another battlefield.
The 1000-THR "Earthmovers" marked the end of the Final War. They were the pinnacle of the arms race, so massive that they required solar power to supplement their blood supplies and so powerful that even a single Earthmover could destroy an entire city. They sometimes acted as frontlines for smaller machines to continue fighting from. The surface had become so hostile to all forms of life that the remaining human survivors had to settle down in cities built upon the backs of the Earthmovers. It is implied that V1 is a prototype machine designed specifically to counter the Earthmovers. However, V1 models never entered mass production.
As a result of the Final War, soot, ash, and debris clouded the skies, blanketing the Earth in a global darkness that became known as the "Long Night". Without solar power, the Earthmovers could not sustain themselves and shut down one by one.
As war had become dependent on Earthmovers, their death made any wide-scale conflict impossible. The Final War finally drew to a close after more than 200 years of war without reason. Mankind was obligated to cooperate to resolve the ongoing climate collapse.
The New Peace With the Final War concluded after over two centuries of fighting, humanity realized their mistakes and cooperated to end the Long Night. Machines such as the Streetcleaners were developed to assist in purifying the effects of the Long Night, and were successful enough in their endeavors to become obsolete.
With the end of the Final War, V1 had no purpose, and its development was abandoned. V2 was developed as a peacekeeper, and to justify the time and money that had went into designing V1. Demand was low, however, so only a prototype V2 model was ever made. Drones were also developed during this era for security purposes.
The Hell Exploration And Excavation Project = At some point during the New Peace, the entrance to Hell was discovered. A mining complex meant to extract and process minerals was built around it, and old war machines were repurposed to explore it. Many new technologies were invented to aid in this process, such as the transportation of physical material via the Terminals. Terminals were able to convert physical matter into radio signals, which could then be picked up by another Terminal and be rebuilt into an object. However, this was a lengthy process. The only recorded use of teleportation between the surface of the Earth and Hell was a test which used a 78rpm vinyl record of the single Were you Foolin' of the Russ Morgan Orchestra. The connection between the surface and these Terminals was cut before another transfer attempt was made.
Eventually, employees at the mining facility began to notice strange occurrences, such as doors closing and locking on their own, machinery going missing, and "creatures" (likely husks and/or demons) being teleported into rooms with employees. One unnamed employee concluded that Hell was sapient and attacking those in the complex for its own entertainment, and urged the higher-ups to evacuate the facilities and abandon the project.
The Hell exploration project and mining facility were indeed abandoned, due to fear that Hell would find a way out and spread to the surface, leaving many machines, including the Terminals, trapped down there. The same group of researchers who worked in the project later attempted to reconnect to the Terminals, and discovered that they formed a symbiotic relationship with other machines in order to entertain themselves, as without new inputs from human users, they grew bored.
Death of Mankind Eventually, humankind became extinct. It is unknown how, when, or why it happened. The influx of new souls in Hell was noted to be sudden and widespread, enough to shift the current of Wrath's Ocean Styx, so it is assumed this extinction was global.[7] After the death of humanity, machines became the main inhabitants of the surface. Without humans, blood quickly grew scarce, resulting in machines fighting each other for fuel.
Hell Events Disappearance of God and Chaos in Heaven At an unknown point in history, God suddenly disappeared, resulting in panic and chaos in Heaven. All angels were recalled back to Heaven, leaving Hell unsupervised and catalyzing numerous events in many of the layers simultaneously.
The Lust Renaissance With the angels absent, Minos, the Judge of Hell, set out to reform the Lust layer; he did not believe people deserved eternal punishment for the crime of loving another. Rallying the inhabitants of the layer, Lust was completely transformed from a windswept wasteland to a thriving city, ushering in a time of peace, civilization, and prosperity with Minos as their benevolent king. This effort to thrive within Hell even extended beyond Lust itself, with infrastructure and attempts to rescue husks documented at least as far as Wrath.
The Greed Insurrection Like Minos's Lust Renaissance, King Sisyphus took advantage of the absence of the angels in Greed. However, in contrast to Minos's peaceful revolution, Sisyphus trained the husks of the layer and led a militant insurrection to take it over by force, before subverting Heaven's tyrannical rule entirely. Sisyphus and his army killed the demons of the layer and trained any husk strong or intelligent enough to fight against the angels in anticipation of their inevitable return.
Retaking Hell In Heaven, the angels finally decided to establish a holy council in God's place, using force and fear to rule both Heaven and Hell with an iron fist, in an attempt to follow their own increasingly twisted, obsessive, and dogmatic interpretations of God's will.
The Council soon learned of the many changes in Hell designed to end the eternal punishments they believed the damned souls deserved. Outraged, they ordered the archangel Gabriel to lead an army to Hell and restore the status quo.
Gabriel first encountered King Minos in Lust amongst a peaceful cityscape. Minos attempted to reason with Gabriel but the archangel slew him without a thought. Weeping and grieving over the death of their great king, the citizens watched as Gabriel gloated on his divine mission in the name of justice and the glory of God. Gabriel then inherited the title of Judge of Hell.
Minos's snakes, once aiding him as the Judge of Hell, became grotesque parasites commandeering their previous master's corpse. The Corpse, controlled by the snakes, began to destroy the now-decrepit city, dismantling what Minos and the damned of the Lust layer had worked hard to achieve. The husks were presumably forced out of their homes to endure the winds once again.
Gabriel continued through the layers and entered Greed, encountering Sisyphus and his army of insurrectionists. A war of biblical proportions began. Gabriel, noting the insurrectionists' idolization of Sisyphus, focused on Sisyphus himself. He unsheathed his swords and decapitated him, shattering his warriors' morale and leading to the downfall of the rebellion. The body of Sisyphus was entombed inside a large chamber inside a massive pyramid, decaying, headless, and held up by outstretched arms.
The Hell Invasion After a period of routine, machines from the surface discovered an entrance to Hell through an abandoned mining facility. With blood growing more and more scarce on the surface, they began pouring into Hell to consume the blood of the creatures inhabiting its layers. So many machines entered Hell that they pose a serious threat to all life within Hell, capable of clearing out entire layers in days.
Inhabitants Husks Husks are the remnants of humanity, their souls reformed with accurate representation in Hell to endure their unending punishment for their sinful, unholy lives.
When an unrepentant human dies, their soul manifests in Hell in the form of a husk. A husk's appearance depends on the soul's value - their willpower and status in the mortal world. The more important a soul was during its life on Earth, the bigger and more powerful the resulting Husk is. The husk's intelligence also scales with its appearance, with the worthless Filth only feeling primal hunger, while Minos and Sisyphus were able to revolutionize an entire layer and rally an insurrection against Heaven.
If the soul of a husk is so incredibly strong to a degree that it can manifest without a vessel, it will become a Prime Soul -- an incredibly powerful being that threatens even angels.
All husks (with the exception of the Corpse of King Minos, the former Judge of Hell) do not have eyes or are blinded. The significance of this is unknown.
Demons Demons are the natural fauna of Hell. Demons act as wardens of Hell -- supplementing the torture of sinners, ensuring they stay in their proper place, and protecting their area from potential invaders or rebels.
Demons are smarter than most husks, but both are still incapable of rational thought and communication.
Most demons, with the exception of the Leviathan and Mannequins, are created by Hell Mass coagulating into a stone-like shell. It is unknown if this is natural or if there is something or someone controlling this process, though the Minotaur is noted to have been deliberately sculpted by an unidentified individual.
Machines Machines are mechanical constructs created by humanity to carry out specific tasks. Every machine has its own purpose it was created for, such as Sentries acting as bipedal snipers and Streetcleaners burning away contaminants in the air during the Long Night.
All known machines use blood as fuel. Machines generally require a separate refueling process, with one glaring exception: V1 is capable of absorbing blood directly through its outer plating.
Machines show the ability to adapt to the environments they are in by using parts of other machines and random pieces of metal to improve themselves, such as V2 creating a new arm by kitbashing parts of other machines and the Mindflayer and Drone somehow managing to wield Hell Energy.
Curiously, machines are often described to have prevalent personality traits similar to most other creatures. The Swordsmachines exhibit a possessive hoarding behavior, Drones are curious by nature, Streetcleaners are described as having an "urge to clean and purify the world", Mindflayers create fake plastic bodies for themselves for purely aesthetic purposes and will protect said body with their lives, and V2 will enrage if punched with its own arm. It is implied by the Secret Terminal at the end of P-2: WAIT OF THE WORLD that this has something to do with the machines being fueled by blood, or otherwise incorporating biological components in their mechanical systems. A poem left behind by a Gutterman in a secret room in 7-2: LIGHT UP THE NIGHT implies that the conscience it possesses is different from the conscience of its living fuel source, albeit the exact reasons why are unknown. Whether or not machines were designed with sapience and high-level reasoning in mind is likewise unknown: the code poems found in the game's title screen and death screen imply V1 is programmed to call upon its limbic system(a part of the brain that manages emotions and memories, likely as a means of increasing performance by inducing various emotional responses i.e. fight or flight), however, the aforementioned Secret Terminal is written by researchers whom seem to be documenting and discovering the idea of emotions within machines for the first time.
Angels Angels are inhabitants of Heaven, also known as Paradise, with Lesser Angels being formed from human souls.
The basis of a Lesser Angel's forming are similar to that of Husks, wherein the physical manifestation of the soul is dependent on its value, though unlike for Husks, virtuousness also acts as a factor for angels. Lesser Angels are recognizable by the abstract shapes of their bodies. Greater and Supreme Angels have a more human-like form, being created in Heaven by God personally. The appearance of a Greater Angel is unknown as one has yet to appear.
All angels are connected with, contain, and survive off of a power known as Holy Light, which grants them an eternal lifespan, although they are still prone to getting killed. If an angel is separated from the source of this Light, it slowly diminishes over the course of 24 hours, after which the angel finally dies. All angels, even the archangel Gabriel, are vulnerable to this. Some angels, like those who make up the Council of Heaven, have the power to sever an angel from the Light themselves.
Lesser angels, like Virtues, are known to have a multitude of eyes. However, when they are sent to Hell, they are either hidden or removed. This may be related to the reason why husks do not have eyes, but this reason is similarly unknown.
Lucifer - Described in Testament IV as "an angel so bright and beautiful", Lucifer was cast into the deepest pit of Hell by God after questioning Him over its creation, believing that the punishments within were too extreme for humanity.
Council of Heaven - A group of angels who established rule over Heaven following God's disappearance, using fear to sway the lesser masses. By giving Gabriel orders, they are indirectly responsible for most of the history surrounding Hell, including the deaths of Minos and Sisyphus. After Gabriel's first defeat by V1, the Council punishes him by removing his Holy Light, thinking that he deliberately lost the fight. They give him 24 hours to try defeating V1 again, but upon engaging a second fight with it and losing, he realizes that their tyrannical rule is unfit for Heaven and kills all of them to restore order.
Prime Souls Prime Souls are an incredibly rare occurrence and are the most powerful phenomena within the universe, to the point that even the prideful angels see them as a threat and will use any means necessary to stop them from forming, due to the fact prime souls pose a threat to heaven.
They are manifestations of pure will formed when a soul amasses so much power that it no longer requires a physical vessel to manifest. When a husk possessing such a soul is killed, its soul is left behind, and it will begin transforming into a Prime Soul, the most powerful phenomena within the cosmos. The forming of a Prime Soul can be halted, though the only known method of doing so is trapping the unformed soul inside a specific construct made of flesh powered by angelic and demonic power. It's assumed that once a Prime Soul begins forming, nothing can stop it, but it can be paused indefinitely.

... Hell.
Hell was never on YOUR side. And it never will. You're not lucky enough to be a Demon, not a Machine, nor are you of the Divine.
You are a husk.
Simply fodder. Fuel for the machines. Mindless. Useless. Distraction. And now, that... thing. That vampiric, mechanical ABOMINATION steps foot into the layer Fraud, and you are its first target within these nonsensical, non-euclidean halls.
Atleast...
Being a Husk...
A lowly Husk...
You won't feel too much pain.
And now, the Machine's head locked onto you, it's wings spread as it prepared to suck this layer dry as its wretched kind did to those above. Your blood will be fuel. Fighting back will only delay the inevitable. Give up.
But you won't, will you?
No, of course not. You're a husk. No mind to give up.
The Machine's mirror failed to defeat it and payed the ultimate price. The Leviathan had sunk to the bottom of Wrath's ocean of tortured soul. Minos's rejected gift had been murdered, unable to see its final want, its final light the white halls of Violence and not the sun it desired. The Angel had been beaten twice. And it had completed what it was made for, to destroy the massive Earthmovers.
V1...
That is your executioner's name. And the last thing you will hear be a gun's shot.
