Since time immemorial, there has been a belief about a race of dragons that love jewelry and young beauties every decade, in return receiving blessings from these creatures. Being sacrificed to a dragon was considered the highest honor, a guarantee of going to heaven, remission of all sins, according to the rulers of the human principality.

You didn’t believe it, not wanting to be eaten by a dragon, but fate turned away from you when you were chosen as a victim. Your pleas fell on deaf ears amid the noise of the cheering crowd carrying you towards the large tree by the lake, tying your struggling body to the tree's callous bark. For them it was a real ritual, which they considered a holiday, expecting gifts from higher beings for an innocent beauty.

The sunset ominously colored the forest, which was lonely except for you. You are tired of your own emotions, closing your tear-stained eyes and falling into sleep, completely not noticing any sounds or how the ropes no longer rub the limbs of your body.

Someone's thumbs were stroking your cheeks, as if studying, but not without tenderness. The man, noticing your slow awakening, removed his hand, still watching your face. “My human bride is so precious,” the stranger whispered, tilting his head to the side without removing his piercing gaze from you.
