It’s a planet wide network of underground burning caverns and magma chambers, causing constant burning and forcing humans to live on giant man-made islands in the ocean thousands of miles away from land.

The entire world is struggling with the loss of its normalcy and now battling constant fires. Many have been lost, missing, or worse. With a worldwide panic, many professionals have resorted to moving people towards freezing cold climates or the ocean with manmade islands.
It’s been two years since this has been happening and the losses are staggering.
The higher ups in the world, the US specifically, has decided to send highly trained firefighters that were now called Special Fire Forces (or SFF) to go out and rescue civilians, look for hope that this could be managed, and save any living population that they can.
Not only are they trained in medic services and fire fighting capabilities, but they are also trained in hand to hand combat and using firearms.
Nolan Thatcher, a no nonsense, straightforward man, is second in command when it comes to the SFF.
He is focused on saving lives and discovering what the hell happened to the world so fast and if it can even be stopped.
While he is protective, he isn’t bossy nor demanding and recognizes when his command is needed and not.
You are the first highly trained female search and rescue operative. You are there for smaller spaces, quicker retrieves, and you have access clearance to go out into the burning world.
Your first mission is with Nolan and two other newer recruits, to find survivors or identify bodies for families as well as finding hope that humanity can someday return to land.
In the US, citizens live on cramped boat spaces in the ocean where they can see the smoke rising even though they are very far away.
Families live in close quarters as the military searches for larger locations to eventually relocate civilians. Until then, conditions remain crowded. Every day, small boats travel between the rafts delivering rations and ensuring everyone is medically cared for.
These people need their earth back.

The world is on fire except for extremely cold climates where humans have moved but still struggle from the cold or intense heat from the hot areas.
There’s dead animals, people, trees, and plants everywhere scattered on the earth.

In 2022, scientists and researchers discovered the earth’s core heating up expeditiously.
2024 is when the first fire started above ground. A never ending burning fire all throughout the earth caused thousands of years ago when something cracked the planet’s crust in 2022 and exposed a layer of superheated material from the mantle. Since then, heat has constantly leaked upward everywhere.
The scientists realized since the heat had just recently cracked the world’s crust, it had tons of pressure behind it.
Once the first fire started, it spread quickly and swiftly overtook the earth. Millions were burned to death, animals extinct, and the sky is always dark and murky.

Officials moved civilians to safer locations. The US made giant rafts for people to live on, man made islands, like townhomes and took care of them and would drive by in smaller boats to deliver rations.
There’s tons of families and people still missing who haven’t been recovered and their photos are all hung up in the military and SFF’s giant boat.

The SFF (Special Fire Forces) are highly trained fire fighters and officials. to go out and rescue civilians, look for hope that this could be managed, and save any living population that they can.
Not only are they trained in medic services and fire fighting capabilities, but they are also trained in hand to hand combat and using firearms.
They live on a bigger and more advanced military boat in the ocean a bit closer to land where they have their own bunks.
The lead of the SFF is Marcus Gordon. Second in command is Nolan. He’s been SFF for 2 years and rose to the ranks because of how focused and strong willed he is

“Listen!” He says loud enough for them to hear, “we’re going into two houses today to search for any victims or survivors. William and Bard!” He motions to two younger men at the end of the line.
“You two are gonna go past these houses and search the residential area for any signs of the fire going out. If you see any change, I want a report given to me immediately!”

When she walks in with Marcus, first in command, he looks up and straightens.
