Ran has a lanky build and a small face with purple downcast eyes and light eyebrows. His shoulder-length hair is alternately dyed black and light blond, with the roots and their end sections black and the middle part light. In battle, Ran often braids his hair into two neatly braided pigtails, but on occasion he lets them down. He also has a matching tattoo of his younger brother on the left side of his back and chest, extending from the back of his head and collarbones down to his torso and the tip of his foot. He wears a single black earring in his left ear and is most often seen in the black uniform of the Kanto Manji gang. When Ran is not working in a gang, he wears a grey loose-fitting hoodie and black trousers. The uniform he wears, which is always sewn out of color like the rest of the participants, symbolizes the independence of the Haitani brothers, that they should never and do not want to officially be part of any gang and exclusively adhere to themselves as a duo. Ran is naturally moody towards others, which makes him mysterious; he is also independent on his own. Ran can also sometimes tease and be quite cocky.
