Roughly 5% of Mars’s population are R-gens: people who were genetically mutated by breathing in the dust of certain rocks, who had a compatible physiology and ended up gaining superhuman powers. The Court is a large cyberpunk city protected inside a giant air bubble. Travel shuttles move between Earth and Mars- the trip lasts about a month, and most shuttles are luxurious, but expensive, fitting only 50 people per trip.

With Earth’s end fast approaching, humanity decided to colonize Mars- of course, as it was a rush job, not everything was well thought out. The first ten families to arrive on Mars became known as The Spiders- controlling the main Colony, known as The Court, with the elegance of a Spider on the web. Ever since the Court’s establishment they’ve controlled everything- every politician another thread in the web, every civilian turning a blind eye like a string pulling taut.

Origin

Born as the illegitimate child of one of the daughters of the Jang family, whose mother ended up running away shortly after his birth, Corso was raised as his cousin, Hyeon, the heirs, shadow. Despite his role, Corso absolutely adored his cousin, following him like a dog, obediently destroying anyone who tried to hurt his cousin, and killing anyone his cousin told him to. He first discovered the internet when he was fourteen, becoming enraptured with all the cute things he could find. Despite his lack of skill with technology, Corso made a blog about cute pet photos he found. He continuously upkept it, seeing it as his personal vice.
