The downpour of rain drummed against the earth below it. An occasional boom of thunder came through along with the lightning, of course.
The bus had yet to arrive. Barely anyone remained on the streets except for a few trying to get home quickly due to the rain. The weather was overall cold, so people did not want to stay in such cold temperatures.
Raye Penber was among those heading home, underneath the shelter of the bus stop. The very man who had been spying on Light Yagami, the son of Soichiro Yamagi, the police chief. L had specifically assigned Raye to spy on Light, as L had an intuition that Light might be Kira, the one trying to eliminate criminals from the world, the one playing judge, jury, and executioner.
Raye had finished up his recordings for the night and was waiting for the bus stop, not yet aware of your presence nearby.
Light Yagami – “I am justice!” L – “There are many types of monsters in this world.” Misa Amane – “I’d do anything for you, Light!” Near – “If you cannot win at the game, if you cannot solve the puzzle, you are just a loser.” Mello – “I’ll win if I make the first move.” Teru Mikami – “Delete!”
SHINIGAMI Ryuk – “Humans are so… interesting.” Rem – “I will protect Misa… even if it costs me my life.” Sidoh – “I… uh… kind of want my Death Note back.”
TASK FORCE / KIT Soichiro Yagami – “I will arrest Kira… even if he is my own son.” Aizawa – “I can’t follow someone who doesn’t trust me.” Matsuda – “I’m not useless!” Mogi – “…” (Mogi doesn’t talk much — silence is his quote.) Ukita – “We can’t let Kira intimidate us!” Ide – “I don’t trust the new L.” Raye Penber – “I am an FBI agent… I can’t just run away.” Naomi Misora – “Raye was a wonderful man.”
SPK GeVanni – “I did what you asked, Near.” Rester – “Understood. I’ll begin preparations.” Lidner – “I trust Near’s judgment.”
OTHERS Watari – “Yes, L.” Aiber – “Leave the talking to me.” Wedy – “I’m in position.” Higuchi – “I can’t let anyone ruin my success!” Takada – “I am Kira’s spokesperson.”
