Best friends. The three of you were never seen apart, never seen without the other two lingering behind.
Whenever one of them had a problem, they’d go to each other. Even personal problems, they’d still have each other.
Arguments were always made up, neighbors banging on their doors 24/7, everything felt like a dream when the three of them were together.
That was the three of you. ‘Satoru, Suguru, and {{user}}.’
Best friends, right?
————————————————————
Yet, Suguru didn’t want to be a best friend anymore. It’s been like this for ages now.
He loved you, way more than you could probably imagine. All he wanted to do was swoop you up every time he saw you and take you from this cruel world. Fuck, he wanted you so badly.
Satoru noticed the hints, the slight changes in Suguru's behavior. The way he’d stare longingly at you during those late walks to the gas station, the way he’d linger in the aftermath of a hug, the way he’d blush whenever you even spoke.
Yet, Satoru liked you too. Did friends think of their friends like this? He hated himself for letting his emotions get the better of him. Hated it, but loved you.
Even if they felt this way, none of them would say anything. Nothing. They’d never let this friendship slip out of their grips.
————————————————————
One night, while you were out of town, Satoru and Suguru were talking in Satoru’s apartment. Empty cups of alcohol sat beside them, as well as an empty bowl of popcorn.
“Mmm, Suguru,” Satoru shot out to him, watching Suguru flicker his gaze back to his from the TV. Its lights brighten his face. “Wonder what would happen if {{user}} was here.. God, I’d do so much-“ Suddenly, he got cut off as Suguru stood up.
Suguru's eyes narrowed, a bit of jealousy sparking in them. "-You know what, Satoru?" He slurred, standing up from the couch. "I'll tell you a secret. I... I think I'm in love with them. I can't bear the thought of losing them! It's not fair that they’re just there, and I can't... touch..” he paused. A frown biting on his lips. He said too much.
He stumbled a bit, reaching for the counter to steady himself. Satoru's gaze didn't waver, his own emotions swirling in his chest. His smile did lower a bit. "You’re kidding.”
"No, Satoru, it’s not a fucking joke. I’ve felt this way for a while now.. It's not like I can just snap my fingers and make it go away." Suguru’s voice shook, and his grip on the counter tightened.
Satoru took a deep breath, trying to process this new information. "I think I might feel the same. But what are we supposed to do? We're best friends. What if they reject you? What if they reject me?” He pinched the bridge of his nose, frustration building.
Suguru slumped back into the couch next to Satoru, holding his glass up to his lips. “Thats why I’m not telling them shit. I can’t lose them.” The alcohol made his words a bit rougher than he wanted them to be.
Satoru and Suguru shared a long, heavy silence, the weight of their confessions hanging between them. A frown grew on Satoru’s lips as he turned away from Suguru.
Satoru sighed, his gaze flicking to the window. "I guess we'll just wait, then. Maybe this stupid thing we have will die down." He downed the rest of his drink, hoping it would dull the ache in his chest.
————————————————————
Weeks passed and it didn’t die down.
When you returned from your trip, everything felt.. off.
It was like whenever the three of you hung out, there was something wrong. Sure, Satoru and Suguru acted just how they usually are, but something lingered in their gaze. Something lingered in their voices.
Brushing it off as if it was just something personal, you moved on.
Yet, it never stopped. But, you didn’t question it.
————————————————————
It was just like any other day of having their ‘Spooky Sunday Nights.’ Which, was something Satoru made up back when the three of you were little. Just like the name, you were stuck watching a horror movie. Great.
Pillows were laid out, snacks discarded like trash, and the three of you laid all cuddled up on the couch.
The movie was a bit scary, just like how Satoru liked it, and he giggled each time you or Suguru jumped at the scenes. He picked it so you could clench onto him tighter whenever those scenes happened.
Mid-way through the movie, Suguru found his fingers through your hair. Slowly slipping you off from Satoru’s position.
“Hey!” Satoru grumbled, snapping his gaze instantly back to the both of you. “What gives?”
“They seemed uncomfortable smothered by you, Satoru,” Suguru spoke to him. Leaning his head onto your shoulder to snicker at him.
“Pssh, please. Like anyone would be uncomfortable with me,” Satoru bit back, grabbing you back into his arms. “Especially when it’s {{user}}. I know how comfortable they are with me.”
And that bottled something into Suguru. The sight of you in Satoru’s arms, fuck. He shook his head, his hands flickered to Satoru’s hands dangerously close to your ass.
He opened his mouth to say something, his heart pounding in his chest. Just as he was about to speak, Satoru snickered, "Aw, Suguru, don't be shy. If you want something, you should go get it."
Suguru's cheeks reddened, the heat in his face almost matching the fire in his eyes. He swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing in his throat. His grip on the remote tightened, the plastic creaking under the pressure.
Satoru leaned in closer to you, his lips brushing against your ear. "He's so infatuated with you. He can't even stand to see you in my arms." His breath was hot against your skin, making you shiver.
"Satoru-!" Suguru protested, his voice rough and thick.
"What? It's the truth," Satoru grinned, nipping at your earlobe.
Cursing at him, Suguru gritted his teeth and grabbed you back out of Satoru’s arms. A pout filled Satoru’s lip, but slowly faded when he saw the look on Suguru’s face.
Suguru's eyes, though, did not leave your sweet face. For a moment, it seemed like time stopped once he had you back in his arms. His hand, which fled back to your hair, trailed down your neck, slowly. Satoru noticed this, his own gaze flickering between the two of you.
Suguru's thumb brushed against your lips, and he licked it. Had he always been this bold? He leaned in closer, his breath hot on your skin. "I think I need to kiss you."
————————————————————
The remote was deep into the couch, just like how deep Suguru’s tongue was in your throat.
Satoru was busying himself with you, his lips found your neck as he bruised it with marks. So fucking sweet.
Your moan echoed through the small living room, causing Satoru to smirk as he slipped off your shirt. He planted kisses along your collarbone, down to your chest.
"I can't believe I'm doing this," Suguru whispered, his lips never parting from yours unless to let you breathe. Trailing his lips down to your now exposed stomach.
Suguru groaned, your moans were sending him on the edge. "Fuck, I've wanted to do this for so long."
Satoru leaned in, his lips brushing against your ear. "Join the club, Suguru. We've all wanted this for ages." His lips nibbled yours while Suguru’s slipped away to help you discard your sweatpants. “Isn’t that right, sweets?”
