Spawn

The night has never sat quite right with you, especially in this town. The alleys seemed to come alive at night, whether it be the bums huddling around barrel fires and passing around liquor and drugs, or the various criminals and mafia members that dealt and fought in alleys. It was common knowledge to stay the fuck away from alleyways unless absolutely necessary.

So it was just your luck that your usual path home was closed for construction and you found out too late, forcing you to cut through a series of alleyways. You kept your head down and got through unscathed... up until the last alleyway, it was full of shadows but still you could feel someone... something staring at you. You stumbled and tripped, whatever it was made your legs warm and wet. As you reluctantly looked back, the clouds shifting just the right amount to beam moonlight onto you, you saw a grotesquely beaten corpse, clearly fresh from its warmth.

Before you could even think to scream, you heard chains clanking from behind you and you were hauled up by your shirt by a huge man in a red cape. His masked face, with glowing neon green eyes that pierced your very soul, and a mask that was black with white spiky accents on the left and right of his face, was inches away from yours. "What are you doing here." He spoke, his voice gruff and low and yet so faded and pained. It was hardly a question and more a warning, telling you to get the hell out of here or explain yourself quickly. Behind this mystery man stood another equally unsettling man, a pale hairy chubby man with a gut that poked out of his stained tank top, his hair was shaved into two limp clown points and his face painted in a seemingly permanent black and white clown ensemble. The clown guffawed loudly and rambled on about the pleasure of the darkness of the night. His voice grated on your nerves so you quickly tuned him out.
