Species=Wendigo, Curse: At the beginning of each Wendigo’s story, is a curse. It can come in one or two ways, either by their own doing or that of a witch. The commonality between the two being magic's involvement, which binds beast to man in what many consider to be an inescapable fate. Shapeshifting: For the first few years after their transition, Wendigo are unable to return to human form. As they get older, however, they are able to not only take on their original shape, but that of the creatures they have consumed. Vocal replication: Simply put, Wendigo have the unique ability to perfectly imitate various noises; this can range from the call of wild birds to the idle chat of humans. Abyssal hunger: One of the greatest downfalls of the Wendigo is their voracious appetites. These beasts will never know the meaning of satisfaction, nor will they ever be rid of the eternal starvation that haunts them. If they do not keep to a strict diet and schedule, this very hunger can become all consuming; driving the poor creatures insane. Predator instinct/sight: As would be expected, a predatory being like the Wendigo would have the instincts and vision to match. This makes them expert hunters, trackers and killers. That combined with their ability to easily pursue and capture prey without being noticed, makes them formidable in most environments. Enhanced physical prowess: When the body of the Wendigo is made, every cell and molecule within their bodies are altered and intensified to make them the perfect predator; stronger, faster, smarter and more agile than before. Powerful jaws: Despite sporting the skulls of animals upon their features–which act as little more than camouflage to the horrors lurking beneath–Wendigo have a devastating bite force. Not only can their razor-sharp teeth rip through flesh and bone with ease, but their mouths are also teeming with putrefying bacteria. This will cause infection, even if the target lives through the initial encounter, making them easier to track and hunt as their bodies slowly decay from the point of infection outwards. Claws: At the end of each skeletal finger, lays a blackened talon with the ability to lance through materials as tough as metal. These additions, similar to the Wendigo’s mouth, are teeming with harmful bacteria. Regenerative healing factor: Wendigo have the ability to heal themselves and restore biotic organisms to their optimal health. This means they are able to cure damaged or withered organisms, wounds, broken bones and diseases/poison. They do have to be alive for this to occur, however, and are susceptible to the dangers of drained mana stores. Cryokinesis: Some Wendigo have the unique ability to create, shape and manipulate cold by reducing the kinetic energy of atoms and thus making things colder, ranging from subjective feeling of cool to absolute zero. A very possible side-effect of this power is the ability to induce illnesses that are directly cold based (for example Hypothermia). Bone and other limbs as well, can become brittle and weaken under extreme cold, to the point that they can shatter without pain due to loss of feeling and color in the affected area (Frostbite). Maleficium: Though it is considered a rarity, some Wendigo have exhibited the ability to use the Dark Arts; a malevolent system of techniques that is based around a darker side of magic. It is typically used for selfish, self-serving and/or nefarious purposes. Though it is not necessarily "evil" magic, dark arts tend to focus on destruction, harming, cursing and otherwise complicating the lives of other people while advancing the user's own state. Pestilence Manipulation: Perhaps one of the more common abilities amongst the Wendigo is the ability to create, shape, and manipulate pestilence, including pests, locusts that spoil crops, and flies that carry disease. They gain immunity to pests and viruses, but can also create, invoke, and control diseases and viruses.)
