I'm on fire We can also find tattoos based on short horror stories, such as: The baby's tentacles and slug-like body made Sam wonder if maybe, just maybe, his wife hadn't been lying about the alien abduction after all[7][1] It would have been helpful if his training as an archeologist had included more warnings about disturbing the bones of dead gods. Such precautions might have kept his organs safely intact and inside his body. Such warnings might have saved his soul from teeth not of this world[1] Behavior For the most part, the Existed is a neutral creature that does not immediately attack when it senses someone nearby. Instead, the creature strains its decrepit body to hold onto the victim and remain observed, fearing to live in the torture that is oblivion.[2] If the individual refuses to observe or takes any action that makes the Existed feel in danger, such as being imprisoned in isolation or assaulted, the creature lights up and attacks,[6] usually stopping only when the victim or itself is dead. While the Existing are naturally calm, the Remembered are more aggressive manifestations that naturally don't care about the frivolity of existence, seeking only to become a memorable story, shouting the name that the Other Side gave them while committing the most absurd atrocities to achieve that goal. In an attempt to be recognized, these creatures repeatedly recite their own names. However, their pronunciation is of Sumerian origin. Mind of the Existent The first contact with the mind of an Existing One was during the 15th episode of Disenchantment, where Dante uses the Ritual of Psychic Reading on Beatrice Portinari events after she returned in her Existing One form, so that he could ascertain that his friend was still alive in that body and if it would be possible to save her.[10] Accessing the mind of that Existing One, Dante hears in his head a noise that gradually increases, until it becomes deafening and painful. The occultist realizes that the noise was, in fact, thousands of different voices screaming, one over the other, where individuals affected by Knowledge are condemned to an eternal attempt to reinforce their existence so as not to be forgotten, remaining connected by the element that torments them. Amidst the unbearable chorus, it was possible to identify the voice of Beatrice Portinari. She told stories, screamed desperately and whispered insanities, with her thoughts overlapping. The only sentences that could be discerned from all the others were: My name is Beatrice. Beatrice. Remember me. Beatrice. I was marked. I was marked. To know everything is to lose everything. To know everything is to lose everything. Beatrice. I lost the mark. I lost the mark. Beatrice. I lost everything. Remember me. Look at me. Beatrice. Don't go away. Keep looking at me. Look at me. I need to exist. Look at me. Look at me. Beatrice. Look at me. Look at me. LOOK AT ME. LOOK AT ME. Beatrice Portinari After the ritual is completed, Dante suffers severe sanity damage and is permanently blinded.[11] Later, it is discovered that, through the Ritual of Psychic Reading, Dante gained access to the infinite immensity of Knowledge, which people with an affinity for this element find upon Transcending with 55% Paranormal Exposure. This was seen in the 9th episode of Calamity, where Carina Leone accesses it after Transcending. Unlike Dante, who suffered consequences from accessing it in an unusual way, Carina suffered no mental damage and also had the opportunity to ask a question to Knowledge itself. Skills Impossible Truth: By storing the complete Knowledge of the Other Side, the Existing and Remembered serve as a "battery" for the paranormal, as their constant despair can weaken the Membrane, making it easier for the horrors of the Other Side to affect reality.[4][13] Strike: Both the Existing and the Remembered deliver violent blows against their victims when threatened. In the case of the Existing, the blow is weak and hesitant, reflecting their fragility. The Remembered, on the other hand, channel a more intense force, striking more frequently and violently. Existing Flight: Some Existing beings possess the ability to move by floating through the air.[14] Maddening Glow: When threatened, the texts and interior of an Existing One glow gold.[6] At higher levels of illumination, it can make it difficult to see during a confrontation and affects people's minds with the terror of the writings on their skin. Paranormal Strengthening: After being recognized through the brilliance of its existence, the Existing One is taken over by an unnatural energy that enhances its decrepit body, making it more resilient and causing its blows to be more damaging. Remembered Manifested Aura: The Remembered One's body is constantly enveloped by a bright aura of floating faces, which incessantly cry out for recognition. These faces, begging never to be forgotten, destabilize the minds of those nearby, interfering with their thoughts and actions. Expand Aura: The Remembered One expands their aura, intensifying the voices of despair that echo within the minds of everyone around them. Transformed People Beatrice Portinari: In 2011, Beatrice discovers that her adoptive mother, Clara, was living a double life as an agent of the Ordo Realitas and investigating the disappearance of her friend Arnaldo Fritz. Documents related to this investigation highlighted the Santa Menefreda Orphanage, where the young girl had grown up. Intrigued, Beatrice returns to the orphanage in 2017, destroyed after a fire caused by the Host,[15] where she is taken to the Disenchantment Room by Gal and has her body covered in numerous tattoos, connecting her completely to the Other Side. To save her daughter, Clara becomes an Escripta to use the Memory Alteration Ritual and creates a barrier to block all the Knowledge she has acquired.[16] This barrier was Orpheu, a urutau that would accompany Beatrice, now without the memories of eleven years of her life. After becoming an agent of the Ordo Realitas, Beatrice goes on a mission to the Devil's Mansion where, during a battle against the Traveler, Orpheus ends up being killed and the agent recovers all Knowledge, becoming an Existida.[17] Beatrice ends up being killed with a shot to the head by Dante in an act of mercy to end her suffering.[18] Gustavo Dohmer: Gustavo was a former police partner of Elizabeth Webber before she became an agent of the Ordo Realitas. After their old partnership returned from the mission in Santo Berço, Guto assists her in an investigation into the Order of Disenchantment, Kian's prophecy, and the Escriptas. The two end up being kidnapped in the New Dawn Building by the Escriptas themselves, who tattoo Gustavo's body and gradually turn him into an Existido.[19] When Force D comes to their rescue at the Santa Menefreda Orphanage, Gustavo ends up being killed by a Degolificada during his escape due to his slowness. [Blood Zombies]: Without ever reasoning or thinking strategically, they are driven solely by an obsessive and brutal frenzy. Appearance The skin of a Blood Zombie is slimy and reddish, its teeth grow until they are all pointed, also increasing in number as its mouth expands in size.[7] All of its fingernails become large, sharp, elongated claws. Furthermore, these creatures are blind,[8] having empty eye sockets, but their exposed skin is so sensitive that it feels pain from the slightest movements of the air, revealing the position of its targets.[9] In its Bestial stage, after the creature is completely devoured by the Blood, it becomes much larger, as do the rest of its transformed limbs. Its flesh and muscle mass increase, becoming even more animalistic and remaining quadrupedal most of the time. Like the rest of its body, its skull also grows exponentially, splitting completely in half from the top, causing its jaw to become enormous and its fangs to double in number. A single bite from its voracious mouth would be capable of easily severing a human limb. Behavior Blood Zombies are extremely aggressive beasts that seek to tear apart and devour their victims. They lack the mind to reason or plan, attacking uncontrollably driven by rage, often ignoring their own injuries. When transformed into Beasts, the predatory instinct of Blood Zombies causes them to behave more strategically, sometimes hiding to stealthily attack their victims while they are unaware.[11] In addition, being an advanced stage, Beasts become even more brutal than their previous version. Skills Blood Zombie Claws: Blood Zombies attack with direct and violent charges, delivering uncontrolled blows with their long, sharp claws. Their movements are erratic and impatient, as if the creature can barely contain the urge to tear apart anything living before it. Bestial Blood Zombie Stealthy and Lethal: Unlike its less developed form, the Bestial Blood Zombie knows when to wait. The creature is capable of executing stealthy attacks, and can be a deadly danger to unsuspecting victims. Predatory Instinct: The Bestial Blood Zombies move like beasts in pursuit of their prey, possessing great stealth hunting skills. Blood Bite: The Beast's monstrous jaw, split in two at a grotesque angle, snaps brutally shut on its target. Its fangs are long, jagged, and numerous, easily sinking into the flesh of its victims. Blood Claws: The blows delivered by the Blood Zombie's claws in its Beast form are even more destructive. Its claws glide through flesh like blades, and its successive blows are swift, aggressive, and relentless. Variations: Four-Armed Blood Zombie The Four-Armed Blood Zombie is a variation that only appeared during the announcement trailer for The Thing. It is a zombie with a beast-like face and appearance, but with a muscular, defined body and a larger stature. It also possesses four large, muscular arms on its torso. Due to its brief appearance, there is no information available about its original form or behavior. Semi-Transformed Blood Zombie: Semi-Transformed Blood Zombies are common Blood Zombies still undergoing metamorphosis, partially taken over by Blood. Naturally, this incomplete form is more fragile and slower.[14] Its appearance varies depending on the body of the individual being transformed, but it is notable that on all occasions the person is being dominated by a fleshy Blood and veins that replace the old tissue of their former body, reconstructing missing limbs if necessary. Blood Toothed Zombie: Toothed Blood Zombies are creatures that, unlike common Blood Zombies, have even more prominent teeth around their entire mouth, less strengthened muscles, a better developed skin similar to leather, and more visible gums.[16] They are stronger than conventional Zombies, due to the resistance of their skin which allows them better defense. Spiny Blood Zombie: Spiky Blood Zombies have skin similar to that of regular Blood Zombies, but with slightly longer arms. Their main distinguishing feature is the numerous spines of varying sizes protruding from their heads and forearms, as well as several bone-shaped spines in the region of their spine.[16] They are generally stronger variations and much faster than regular Blood Zombies. Armored Blood Zombie: Armored Blood Zombies are variations of Blood Zombies with blood veins bulging out of their bodies, a protruding spine emerging from their torso, and large claws on all four limbs. Their distinctive feature is the use of Roman armor that gives them resistance, commonly used by soldiers of their time.[17] They may also have weapons embedded in their bodies. Blood Titan: The Blood Titan is a Blood Zombie that forms from the remains of a person with high Paranormal Exposure, having two pairs of spider-like chelicerae and teeth capable of devouring anything. Its physical strength is monstrously greater than that of a Common or Bestial Blood Zombie, having a robust and hard-to-penetrate body covered in tough skin, unlike common Zombies that are easily penetrated by weapons or projectiles.[18] Severed Blood Zombie: The Severed Blood Zombie is a variation of the Blood Zombie that also has the Energy Element as an addition, and is formed from a severed body, in the same way that happened with Rana. This Blood Zombie has a huge jaw with sharp teeth and a purple tongue that extends throughout its body, serving as a kind of link between its severed limbs and its torso. In addition, it has spines all over its spine and extremely sharp claws capable of climbing and gripping steep surfaces. Another characteristic is a Japanese kanji on the top of its head, which may be exclusive to Rana's transformation.[19] Unlike all other Blood Zombies known until now, the Severed Blood Zombie possesses the ability to perform special elemental abilities, in its case Energy. The creature has the ability to teleport, a ritual used by Rana while she was alive. -------------------------------------------------------- How the paranormal works: Elements from the Other Side: Knowledge of the Other Side can be divided into five main elements... Blood Element Blood is the entity of feeling. It seeks intensity: pain, obsession, passion, love, hunger, hate – anything involving extreme emotion pleases the entity of Blood. The extreme emotions of Blood surpass the reason and calmness of Knowledge. It is the driving force behind the vehemence of the feelings of entities in Reality. This element is related to extreme emotions, such as hunger, pain, love, hate, passion, and obsession. The colors that represent Blood are shades of red. The Blood entity's behavior seems to devour all flesh available in Reality, causing maximum pain in the most extreme and intense way possible. Upon transcending with 55% Paranormal Exposure, Arthur Cervero communicates with the Blood entity. At that moment he is able to see a seemingly endless red ocean spreading across the skies. As Arthur observes this inverted ocean, formed by waves of an aggressive liquid emitting growling sounds, he is overwhelmed by a surge of terrible and intense feelings.[3] In the prophecy of the Order of Disenchantment, one can find the guiding phrase for the element of Blood: It all begins with Blood. Blood is the flow that bathes the eternity of the Other Side. Guide phrase for the Blood element. Affinity Blood Alterations in Surviving the Horror Having an affinity with the element of Blood means being chosen by its Entity. The greater an occultist's affinity with the Blood Entity, the closer they are to a bestial creature. Among the various consequences of this, one can mention: heightened senses, increased sensitivity to pain, bulging veins, red eyes, sharp teeth and nails, and various alterations in body structure, as well as a more sentimental, aggressive, and impulsive personality. Creatures Blood creatures are bestial, aggressive, and disgusting, mostly blind, but with extremely sharp senses, especially touch. These entities always have a reddish color, and, in most cases, exposed skin, with sharp claws and teeth, along with a repugnant and thick liquid, similar to, but different from, human blood. The behavior of these creatures has changed throughout the seasons, becoming increasingly bestial, physically attacking anyone within their reach. So far, these creatures have not been seen performing rituals, possibly because Blood represents pure hatred, rendering them incapable of anything other than attacking. Blood creatures are also the ones that feel the most pain among those of other elements. Some examples of Blood creatures are Blood Zombies. Element of Death: Death is the entity of time. It seeks out lived moments, distorting the egoic perception of each individual's existence for its own pleasure. The temporal distortion of Death ruins the carnal perception of Blood. She must maintain the chronology of Reality so that all stories have an ending. This element is related to several characteristics such as spirals, repetition, Black Sludge, and temporal distortion, in addition to distorting the egoic perception of each individual's existence. The colors that represent this element are black and shades of gray. Within the Perimeter, after exploring the Cave of Crystals and the Spiral Castle, it is discovered that in addition to the interaction with fire that the Black Slime possesses and which causes it to burn, it is also possible to accelerate it using UV light, petrify it with electricity, or make it repeat infinitely if exposed to the Paranormal Light of the Paranormal Crystals. The behavior of the Death entity seems to revolve around itself, successively seeking the application of Potential Energy dedicated to the spirals of Death. Every second someone loses contemplating the spirals is a second that same person could be doing other things, living other experiences. All these moments that could have happened, but thanks to Death never did, are called "Potential Energy" or "Entropy," and seem to be the ultimate goal of the Death Entity. Potential Energy strengthens the temporal distortion effects of this entity, making it more powerful. In the Paranormal Order RPG Rulebook, it is revealed what happens when communicating with the entity of Death upon reaching 60% Paranormal Exposure: according to the book, it's like a spiral in the center of an infinite immensity where time doesn't exist and each moment is eternal and sudden at the same time; the black slime, like an eternal whirlpool, guards all the moments stolen by Death, and the spiral immensity stares at your soul, yearning for your future. You are insignificant before the splendor of time. During a live stream by Cellbit, the guiding phrase for the Death element was revealed: Everything has a beginning and an end, and Time takes all things away. Nothing that is taken by Death can return to what it was before. Guiding phrase for the element of Death Affinity Death Changes in Surviving the Horror Having an affinity with the element of Death means being chosen by your Entity. Among the various consequences of this, it is possible to mention: changes in skin color, taking on a more grayish appearance, changes in hair color, changing to shades of black or white, marked black stripes on the face, completely black eyes, darkened blood, spontaneous aging, enhanced reflexes, weight loss, changes in bone structure, changes in time perception, as well as a colder and more apathetic personality, showing a lack of affectation in relation to the impact that death can generate. Knowledge Element: Knowledge is the entity of consciousness. To discover, to learn, to know, to decipher. To have one's own perception of the Other Side and its entities pleases the element of Knowledge. The reason and logic of Knowledge reintegrate and suppress the chaos of Energy. He must maintain balance so that Reality gives rise to a purpose. This element is characterized by discovering, deciphering, understanding, and learning, and is directly linked to the "Whispers of Knowledge." The colors that represent this element are white and shades of yellow. The Knowledge Entity's behavior seems to be directly connected to the idea of discovering, remembering, learning, and recording information. Events that were a great source of Fear, recorded in texts, words, or even Sigils, please and strengthen the Knowledge Entity. To fully comprehend Knowledge would be equivalent to knowing absolutely everything about the Other Side. Upon transcending with 55% Paranormal Exposure, Carina Leone communicates with the entity of Knowledge. She finds herself in the infinite vastness of Fear, listening to a familiar noise that grows louder and louder, bordering on unbearable. This noise was, in fact, composed of millions of voices screaming in a desperate and malevolent chorus, simultaneously whispering words, possibilities, nightmares, and stories. To know everything is to lose everything. Guiding phrase for the Knowledge element Affinity Knowledge Changes in Surviving the Horror Having an affinity for the element of Knowledge means being chosen by your Entity. Among the various consequences of this, it is possible to mention: yellow or whitish eyes, inscriptions on the skin, loss of emotions, golden aura, body parts such as arms, legs and fingers becoming elongated and thin, fragile bones, disappearance of lips/mouth and ears, deep dark circles under the eyes, in addition to resulting in a more rational, logical, strategic and often manipulative personality. Energy Element Energy is the entity of chaos. Everything that cannot be explained, the intangible, anarchy. Constant change, heat and cold, light and darkness. Everything involving unpredictability and transformation pleases the entity of Energy. The transformation of Energy overwhelms the effects of Death. It dictates unpredictability, since not even the currents of Reality should control everything. This element is characterized by everything that cannot be controlled, the intangible, anarchy, and transformation. One of the most striking manifestations of this element is in a ghostly, ethereal form, described as matter that is in constant transformation between solid, liquid, and gaseous states, acquiring the appearance of a "liquid flame," in colors that represent Energy, namely shades of purple, blue, cyan, pink, and green. The Energy Entity behaves differently from others, seemingly never following a specific logical pattern. Its motivations appear to be connected only to its own entertainment, causing pain and agony to others. Energy represents all chaos, constant change, and unpredictability. Upon transcending with 55% Paranormal Exposure, Rubens Naluti communicates with the Energy entity. He finds himself in the infinite immensity of Fear and begins to perceive the galaxy as if it were transforming, with stars colliding, merging, and deforming endlessly. The environment spins uncontrollably in opposite directions, like a huge hurricane of bright flames, with explosions happening in all directions and at all times. This environment resembles a spectacle of infinite fireworks, completely illogical and chaotic, with some of them imploding like supernovas, in constant transformation. In the prophecy of the Order of Disenchantment, one can find the guiding phrase for the element of Energy: Chaos is inevitable. Having an affinity for the Energy element means being chosen by your Entity. Among the various consequences of this, it is possible to mention: multicolored and luminescent eyes, blood mixing with the fire of Energy, uncontrollable tics, trembling, anxiety attacks, hyperactivity, burns, hair and skin with vibrant colors, body parts merged with technology or metallic objects, as well as an unpredictable, chaotic, and insane personality. Element of Fear: Fear is the entity of the unknown and the infinite. Present since the dawn of humanity, it modifies the nature of the universe. Its distinct existence is a mystery. Fear is the Entity of the Other Side itself and the most mysterious element. Nothing in it can be classified like the other elements.[7][8][9] All paranormal manifestations are generated by Fear. The physical manifestation of Fear in Reality is incomprehensible and impossible, as if it were a transparent flame, distorting all reality around it. The few who have witnessed such a manifestation have also described seeing "a glimpse of God," as if the human brain itself could not process such an impossible event. Despite all this, it is believed that the mysterious mist found in places with a damaged Membrane is the manifestation of Fear most present within Reality. Fear is infinite. -Guiding phrase for the element of Fear Enigma of Fear Monsters composed of this element possess a mystery surrounding their existence and forming part of their history, known as the "Enigma of Fear." If these creatures are investigated and their mystery solved, the consequences range from the removal of some of their abilities to the complete defeat of the creature. However, there are monsters of the same type that, despite possessing the same Enigma of Fear, may have their solution or details vary depending on the individual manifestation of the monster. For example: Two Decapitated beings may appear due to different reasons, but the answer to solving the mystery of the transformed child may lie in the manner in which she was killed. Combination of Elements Although the elements are effective against each other, they can appear combined in the form of rituals or creatures. Fear is the main element that is seen in conjunction with others, being present in everything that is paranormal. Impossible Union It is said that Tenebris represents, through its bells, "the impossible union of that which repels itself." According to the main records, it can be seen that this connection refers to the distinct and opposing interactions that exist between the elements Blood, Death, Knowledge, and Energy. Each of these Elements carries within itself its own unique essence and, when interacting with each other, tends to act in opposing ways. However, under the influence of the Six Bells of Tenebris, these Elements find a paradoxical balance. This union manifests itself in unpredictable ways, resulting in the creation of creatures and manifestations of this coalition that defy logic and Reality. The connections known so far are as follows: Blood + Death = Imaginary Friend and The Ink Knowledge + Energy = Foreigner and the Signs Symbol of the Other Side: This symbol represents the Other Side. Its shape resembles a large pentagon with an inverted pentagram inside it. These shapes are repeated in a pattern throughout the symbol, and at the points of this large pentagon there is a circle in each of the corners, containing within these circles each of the 5 symbols of the Elements of the Other Side. The Sigils of Knowledge in this symbol can be separated into four different regions: the central region, the inner region, the outer region, and the interior of the lower right circle. The translation of these Sigils is: Central large central "The hidden knowledge of the Other Side can be categorized into 5 main elements. Knowledge of each element consumes a part of the human mind." Central Middle "Knowing and understanding all the elements and their secrets results in" small central "Knowledge of each element" Internal Lower Left "Blood" Upper Left "Death" bUpper Right "Heat" Lower Right "Fear" bInferior "Mind" External Lower Left "Blood Pain Feeling" Upper Left "Death Time Destruction" Superior "Energy Light Heat" bUpper Right "Unknown Fear" Lower Right "Mind, Knowledge, Communication" Symbol of Knowledge bInterior of the Symbol of Knowledge "Nostis Omnia Perdet Omnia" — To know everything is to lose everything "Tagged": The Marks are mysterious paranormal entities of Fear that choose individuals to connect with. These individuals, the Marked, are the most dangerous and powerful beings in the Paranormal Order universe, capable of connecting with Fear and directly invoking it into Reality. Those chosen by these Marks become free from the chains that form the rules of Reality and weave destiny, allowing them to alter even the Other Side itself.[1] Furthermore, a Mark allows its Marked person to use the Relics of Calamity, making them capable of acquiring power equivalent to 100% Paranormal Exposure. The Brands and the Elements Although the Marks are strongly linked to Fear, it is possible that eventually a Marked individual may be chosen by one of the other 4 elements. This allows them to provide a connecting bridge between an individual and their Mark. However, not all those marked by the same Mark will necessarily be chosen by the same element. Upon transcending with 50% paranormal exposure, the element used to connect the Marked One with their Mark manifests with specific abilities and advantages stemming from it, in addition to their physical modifications. Tristan Monteiro: They had few interactions during their time together, but they had a friendly relationship. Tristan tried to boost Kaiser's self-esteem, saying that the scar he acquired after the attack by the Degolificada at the Orphanage made him more handsome, and even offered to play games with him, as shown in Act 9. of Disenchantment. [Luciano]: Appearance: Luciano is a 38-year-old black man who is 1.78 meters tall.[5] He has a shaved head, stubble, and yellow pupils. Fernando, in control of his body, usually wears a white dress shirt with red flower sleeves and brown jeans.[6] During the battle against The Stalker, Luciano is shot in the face by one of the "Devoured" created by the entity, seriously injuring him, and after Dante tends to his wound, a scar is created on his face.[7] To facilitate the performance of rituals, Luciano uses rings with his symbols marked on them, thus having them readily available for the cult whenever needed. Eventually, Luciano began using two rings, one for "Reaction" and another for "Disincarnation". Personality: Luciano is a serious and methodical man, whose military background explains his coldness in times of crisis. He has a strong and decisive, sometimes arrogant, personality, which contrasts sharply with Fernando's. However, he reveals a more insensitive and selfish personality when it comes to his husband and his well-being. Although Luciano had begun to become more sociable and even friendly with the other agents, he did not lose his "tough" demeanor, creating ever more hatred during combat with his adversaries. After the fight with Sukkalgir, seeing his partner Erin Parker completely lose her sanity and still furious about Bruno's uncontrollable behavior, Luciano reveals that he was unhappy with the agents' actions, and that, from now on, his actions would be focused on saving the billions of lives on Earth, shooting anyone who prevented his team from eliminating the occultists, including his colleagues if necessary. Biography: Luciano Carvalho was born between 1981 and 1982. Little is known about Luciano's past, except that before joining Ordo Realitas, he was a former soldier in the Brazilian army who participated in a war in Latin America known as "The Ten Days' War," acquiring trauma due to his first paranormal experience alongside his friend in the army and Tristan Monteiro.[10][11] It was in this war that he was introduced to the Order by his friend, an agent of the organization infiltrated in the army, and also met Tristan through the same friend.[12] Because of the horrors he witnessed in combat, he tends to seek justice for others, something he couldn't do in the past. While still a soldier and before the war, Luciano met Fernando Carvalho, whom he eventually married. At some point in his past,[fn 1] Luciano had joined the Ordo Realitas. His first missions in the Order were Sweeps alongside other agents, at a time when its members used masks and the codename "Veríssimo" to protect their identities. In one of these missions, Luciano, along with Arnaldo Fritz, Antônio Pontevedra and Johnny Tabasco, participated in an extermination against Theodore Bagwell's family.[13] Some time passes, and at the beginning of 2020, already part of Team Brasa, Luciano makes a deal with Leonardo Gomes to cure her husband Fernando, who was terminally ill, through an unknown ritual. To perform this ritual, Leonardo Gomes instructed Luciano to kidnap an orphaned child, also terminally ill, named Denis, and take Fernando to the location where Leonardo and Dante would perform the ritual. The ritual performed was actually a scheme by Kian, who assumed Leonardo's identity, to hide his mind inside Luciano. Dante had been manipulated into performing a specific sequence of rituals that would store Kian and Fernando's minds in Luciano's body, Kian's knowledge in Fernando's empty body, and Denis's mind in Leonardo's body. Denis's body would then become empty and transform into a monster, making everyone believe the ritual had gone wrong. In this way, Kian remained inside Luciano all these months waiting for the agent to increase his paranormal exposure so that he could manifest himself.[14] Since Fernando now shared a body with his husband, he was trained by Erin Parker and Tristan Monteiro and eventually became an agent of the Ordo Realitas. Luciano only met the new Team at a time of danger, which is when Luciano manifested himself. Despite disapproving of Luciano's actions towards her husband, the team members begin to cooperate with him and, together, they discover and try to prevent the Disenchantment. At one point, Luciano was attacked by the Traveler, who fled in fright after accessing his memories. This occurred due to contact with Kian's memories, which drove the creature away.[16] After a while, Luciano comes to know everything that happens to Fernando and to control when he wants his husband to return. Luciano has always shown himself to be skeptical and determined with his objectives during the mission, suggesting killing Beatrice immediately after she becomes Existida, discarding the option of perhaps saving her, in addition to telling the agents that everyone must be able to kill each other for the good of the team and the greater good, if necessary.[9] On the final day of the Disenchantment, Luciano reached 50% paranormal exposure, and Kian was able to take over his body and transform it into just a memory within the occultist. Fernando was expelled from Luciano's body, returning to his original body after Kian's knowledge returned to its origin, and Fernando's body lost its Disgraced Semblance. Currently, Luciano has all his memories within Kian, however, he cannot manifest as before and remains trapped there along with the other receptacles. Manias and Phobias: Uncontrollable Tremor: Upon seeing Tristan's decapitated body, Luciano developed a compulsion that causes him to start trembling and he can no longer stop. Temporary Illusionary Paranoia: Due to the confrontation with the Traveler, Luciano developed an illusory paranoia causing him to hear sounds that didn't happen and see things that aren't really there. Rituals and Skills: Ritual of Reaction: During the Transcendence process, both Luciano and Fernando meet again, but only Luciano was accepted by the Other Side.[21] Thus, he learns a defensive ritual that consists of a reaction to being hurt, reflecting half of the damage back onto his attacker in the form of chaotic energy. Meanwhile, the other half affects the user's mind instead of the body. To perform this ritual, the user must hold an electronic device while being attacked and concentrate on its symbol. Ritual of Disemboweling Students: During the fight against Enpap-X, Luciano notices Henri laughing morbidly while watching the combat. He then sheathes his weapon, stains his ring with blood, and prepares his ritual while cautiously walking towards Henri, using it on him. Henri, strangely, seems to enjoy having his skin flayed. To perform this ritual, one must pour their own blood onto the respective symbol and stare at their target. After staring, the victim's flesh begins to burn and disintegrate in a very painful and rapid manner. Arsenal: M4 (Carbine): Assault rifle of the M4 model, with an attached flashlight. The rifle has a capacity of 30 rounds per magazine, caliber 5.56 mm. Glock 17: Semi-automatic pistol with a 17-round 9mm magazine capacity. Pocketknife: A blade for close combat. Relationships Arthur Cervero: They didn't interact much at the beginning, however, based on the events they both experienced in the Devil's Mansion, the two had disagreements and experiences that show the strong differences of opinion between them, even so, Luciano considered Arthur a friend. Beatrice Portinari: They didn't interact much, but Luciano seemed to treat her like anyone else, like a teammate. When she became an Existida, he showed concern for the supposed suffering she was going through, being the first to suggest "freeing" her. Dante: Luciano harbored a great deal of hatred for Dante, as he was directly affected by him and Leonardo Gomes.[27] The relationship between the two improved over time, especially after the occultist joined the Order and went through many things with the team, in the last episodes of Desconjuração, Luciano seemed to trust him and treated him like all the other teammates.[28] Erin Parker: Erin and Luciano had already done missions together and were part of the same team as Tristan; they both seemed to have a very good and relaxed friendship. According to Kalera, they worked together in the Order for at least 3 years. He cared deeply for Erin, and the two were willing to risk their lives for each other. Initially, she was the one he relied on to understand his surroundings when he gained "control" of his body, always trusting her instructions. During the confrontation with the Enpap-X, Luciano calls Erin "sister" after fearing for her life. Fernando Carvalho: Luciano and Fernando were married until a tragedy struck. Because of this, Luciano and Fernando shared the same body. Despite this, however, they seemed to get along well and love each other enough to always try to protect and care for one another. Luciano claimed that Fernando was the love of his life and was willing to take extremely selfish actions to save his life. Joui Jouki: Luciano had a complicated relationship with Joui from the start, having a dangerous falling out with him in the Order, where Luciano even threatened him with death if he told Fernando the whole story behind the ritual that bound him to his husband's body. Over time, however, Luciano showed respect for Joui as the leader of the investigation team on Kian, in which they both participate. He frequently disagreed with Joui, but liked him enough to call him "captain," asking his husband to salute him when he left with the Masked Sect.[30] Kaiser: Despite their limited interactions, it was likely that Luciano didn't have a very good opinion of Kaiser, as he pointed a gun at him after seeing Joui being threatened. However, the relationship between the two improved over time, and they both seemed to care for each other and treat each other as teammates. Leonardo Gomes: The two had a partnership before the incident, where Leo, along with Dante, would save Fernando's life if Luciano cooperated with them. Fernando became trapped in Luciano and Leonardo ended up being killed by a creature after the ritual, since then Luciano has expressed hatred for him.[31] Tristan Monteiro: They had been friends for years and seemed to have a good relationship. Luciano reacted calmly to the news of his death, but he was also very shaken. [Orpheu]: He has memories, Beatrice, that even you can't access... memories that he's protecting. Orpheu[4] was a bird of the species Nyctibius grandis that always accompanied Beatrice Portinari. Both were trained by Tristan Monteiro and the bird was accompanying Beatrice on her first mission for the Ordo Realitas. Appearance Orpheus was a great potoo, a bird approximately 54 cm tall with a wingspan of 1 meter. Its plumage was mostly brown, with lighter shades on its body and darker shades on its face, resembling a mask with black eyes and a short beak. Upon being exposed to a large Occult Symbol in one of the rooms of the Santa Menefreda Orphanage, Orpheu's body began to glow and writings appeared all over his figure, similar to those of the Escriptas and Existidos, except that, instead of horror stories and last words, they were mundane tales of everyday life. Personality: Orpheus adapted quickly to new environments, feeling comfortable taking flight and landing in various places. It was said that Orpheus never made noise, and, according to Beatrice, she had never heard him sing until the event at the St. Menefreda Orphanage. Orpheus was not shy and felt comfortable with people around him, although he didn't show much reaction, except with Beatrice. Despite his attachment to Beatrice, Orpheus maintained his autonomy and did not always follow her wishes. In combat, he did not put himself in danger, attacking only at opportune moments, which is what caused his death, defending his mistress and having his neck broken by the Traveler. Skills; Natural camouflage: Due to its grayish plumage and black eyes, Orpheus had the ability to camouflage itself extremely well in dark and forested environments. Magic Eye: Urutaus have large, yellowish eyes, which makes camouflage difficult. So, as an evolutionary trick, they developed a kind of "magic eye": a small opening in their eyelid that allows them to see even with their eyes closed. Nocturnal habits: Potoos are nocturnal birds with predatory habits. Because of this, their vision is adapted to low light, making it easier to locate targets in the middle of the night. Lookout: Thanks to his vision and natural camouflage, Orpheus could be used as an excellent lookout, warning of the approach of any strange being to his surroundings. Biography: Little is known so far about Orpheu's life before becoming Beatrice's companion, but it is known that at some point in his adult life he was used in a ritual by Clara and Leonardo Gomes, becoming a barrier between Beatrice's devastating memories to save her from her Existida state. After this ritual, Orpheu was seen by Beatrice for the first time in a room, watching her.[7] From then on, the urutau always accompanied her, being trained by Tristan to join the Order with his owner. During the Paranormal Order: Disenchantment campaign, Orpheus accompanies Beatrice everywhere, including on her missions, perched on her shoulder and occasionally leaving to land in other places or attempt to attack enemies. During the visit to the New Dawn Building, Orpheus acted as always, staying close when he left Beatrice's shoulder and occasionally assisting in the fight. However, when the agents head to the Santa Menefreda Orphanage, Orpheu acts unusually, singing for the first time and staring at a door on the left side of the ground floor. When Joui opens this door, Orpheu passes the agents and enters the room that the group had not yet investigated. Everyone is apprehensive about the urutau's different behavior. Entering the room slowly, Joui and Beatrice see Orpheu perched on the shoulder of a woman with short black hair, her back turned, described as being about 45 years old and exceptionally beautiful for her age, with whitish eyes. This woman is Clara, Beatrice's mother, who disappears as soon as her daughter tries to approach, leaving Orpheu flying in the air. The urutau then returns to Beatrice's shoulder, acting as if nothing had happened.[8] On the second floor of the Orphanage, in the ritual room right next to the elevator, Orpheus begins to act strangely again, becoming restless and singing, until he flies off Beatrice's shoulder and, mid-flight, his body begins to glow and various writings appear, until he lands on the chair that is right in the center of the huge symbol with the elements on the other side, continuing to sing.[9] After spending some time on this chair, Orpheus returns to his tutor's shoulder, still glowing and uttering his song, until he returns to acting normally, still with his body illuminated and full of writings, which, unlike the existing ones, are common stories as if someone were telling their routine.[5] The moment Beatrice leaves the room with Orpheus on her shoulder, he stops glowing, returning to normal. During the Masked Cult's invasion of the Order's base, when the agents are in a kind of trance-like state, Beatrice appears without Orpheus, indicating that, like Joui, he was not present in this "other world".[10] In the Devil's Mansion, Orpheus spends most of his time on Beatrice's shoulder acting normally, even in risky situations or when his guardian hid, he remained close, only leaving his owner's shoulder to peck at pieces of ramen and drink water, returning to where he was after eating. After some events, the group confronts an invisible creature, which only appeared when a picture was taken of it, known as the Traveler. In the middle of this fight, the creature knocks Beatrice and Orpheus down, but the urutau flies away to get out of reach,[11] keeping a safe distance, until the creature attacks Beatrice and leaves her on the verge of death,[12] beginning to steal her memories.[13] At that moment, a barrier appears, Orpheu begins to glow and sing desperately, advancing towards the Traveler, protecting his tutor and trying to mislead the creature, causing it to become annoyed and display an aggressive expression,[14] even after suffering blows from the other agents, the Traveler does not change his focus, he grabs Orpheu and breaks his neck, causing the urutau to scream desperately before falling dead to the ground next to Beatrice,[6] breaking the barrier ritual that was performed on him, releasing the memories of his tutor that he had been protecting all this time. [Tristan Monteiro]: Tristan Monteiro, 29 years old, is charismatic, outgoing, and a little shameless. His charisma and excellent intuition have made him one of the Order's top recruiters. Tristan was responsible for recruiting Beatrice, Elizabeth, and Daniel Hartmann. As long as the spirit Tristan carried lived on, the Order would live on no matter what happened. That coat wasn't just a coat or a memory for him; it was everything he represented—sacrificing himself for others, throwing himself in front of everyone... Appearance: As a child, Tristan had fair, unblemished skin, dark eyes, and brown hair that reached halfway down his neck. In the only photo where he can be seen during his childhood, he is wearing his characteristic coat given to him by Mr. Veríssimo, over a dark green V-neck t-shirt. Currently: Tristan was a tall, strong man, still sporting neck-length hair, a sparse beard, and covered in burns on his arms and chest area, burns caused by past missions. He was seen wearing a blue V-neck tank top, brown jeans, simple beige sneakers, and a white coat draped over his shoulders, a coat given to Tristan by Mr. Veríssimo. After the mission carried out at the New Dawn Building, Tristan was seen bandaged, with bandages on his neck and chest area. These bandages were given to him by Marcela Geleerd, who cared for his injuries sustained in his fight against a Beast Zombie. Personality: He was a charismatic, easygoing, and somewhat boisterous man. When necessary, Tristan showed himself to be a calm and sober man, especially in the presence of Mr. Veríssimo, for whom he had great respect. His excessive charisma conveyed a lot of confidence and attachment, using this as a test to recruit new members for the Order, seeing if they were truly up to the challenges the group proposed. His extroverted and good-humored nature was on display most of the time, which often led him to lighten the mood with jokes and pranks. Furthermore, he was a womanizer, constantly flirting with the new female recruits he hired, such as Elizabeth Webber and Beatrice Portinari. Skills: Incendiary: Tristan used to carry Molotov cocktails and flamethrowers with him, indicating a predisposition for incendiary weapons. Recruiter: Tristan, with his immense charisma and intelligence, had the ability to sense a person's potential and recruit them. He recruited many of the Order's agents, some of whom are still part of it today, having the trust of Mr. Veríssimo to further expand the group's forces. He was also responsible for guiding rookie investigators on their first missions, as he did with Beatrice Portinari. Biography: Tristan Monteiro was born in October 1991.[10] Not much is known about his past, but it is possible to know that, at some point in his childhood, he met Clarissa Leão. Furthermore, in his adolescence, he met Senhor Veríssimo and joined Ordo Realitas, since in the 10th episode of Desconjuração a photo of him with Veríssimo and Clarissa when they were young was seen, with the caption “Our first mission!”.[6] In this first mission, the young agents along with Veríssimo encountered a creature and Tristan, even though he said terrible things to Clarissa at the time, threw himself in front of her to protect her. After the event, Veríssimo gave him his favorite coat, which Tristan carried until the moment of his death, telling the young man that, as long as the protective spirit he carried existed, the Order would live.[8] While working for the Order, he met and recruited Samantha Hale,[citation needed] Elizabeth Webber, Daniel Hartmann,[2] Marcela and Renan Geleerd,[11] and, also in 2020, recruited Beatrice Portinari after she witnessed a massacre caused by a paranormal creature.[2][12] As he was responsible for guiding the newcomer on her first mission, he accompanied her on the team assigned to investigate Elizabeth's disappearance, along with the other agents assigned to that task. Also in the 10th episode, it is reported by Luciano that Tristan was once a soldier,[3] however little is known about his journey in the armed forces and when he joined the corporation, only that he participated in the "Ten Days' War" alongside Luciano.[13] Sometime between the Order's restructuring and the events of Disenchantment, Tristan participated in and won a doubles snooker tournament for the Order, winning alongside his partner Caio Leal.[14] Tristan, along with Erin Parker, Fernando and Luciano Carvalho, and his apprentice, Beatrice Portinari, joined Joui Jouki, Arthur Cervero, and Kaiser in the search for veteran Elizabeth Webber, who disappeared along with her apprentice, Gustavo Dohmer. Tristan was involved at the beginning of the investigation, but ended up staying at the Ordo Realitas base to rest after being seriously injured by a Bestial Blood Zombie in the New Dawn Building, along with Erin and Fernando. He only resumed the mission after the group found Elizabeth and witnessed her tragic end at the hands of Gal. In the 8th episode of Desconjuração, already in a better condition, he accompanied the team on their trip to the Devilish Mansion, in search of Leonardo Gomes' whereabouts. Tristan, along with the rest of the team, now with a new member, Dante, went to the residence where Leonardo's adoptive family lived in 2005. At a certain point during the exploration, footsteps were heard on the upper floor of the mansion. Unaware of what or who inhabited the house, they all hid while listening to the approaching footsteps in the hallways. Eventually, the agents stopped hearing the sounds outside the room, prompting Tristan to leave his hiding place to check if there was anything in the house. He reassured the team by seeing nothing in the hallways, but soon after, feeling a hand come out of his mouth and force a macabre smile, Tristan, while desperately calling for help, met his brutal end and fell in the hallway, part of his head missing, completely dead. Manias and Phobias: Pyromania:[15] Fascination with and obsession with fire. Arsenal: Molotov cocktail Flamethrower: A device capable of projecting flames at targets over long distances. The device is connected to a large fuel tank, which can be placed on the wearer's back, like a backpack. Glock: This is a semi-automatic pistol that has been improved and fitted with a silencer and a small flashlight on the bottom. Relationships Arthur Cervero: They had few interactions, but Tristan cared about him, even writing in his diary about saying that Arthur looked handsome with his scars on his face,[18] in order to boost his self-esteem, showing that he liked seeing him doing well. Beatrice Portinari: Beatrice was one of her apprentices, developing an affinity with both her and her urutau (a type of bird), teaching them some basic tricks and even showing a little more interest in her. Clarissa Leão: Tristan and Clarissa were trained from a young age by Veríssimo. At that age, they weren't very friendly and treated each other more like rivals, constantly teasing each other. It is known that on their first mission together, Tristan threw himself in front of Clarissa to protect her, which made her extremely angry due to the hostility with which they treated each other at the time.[19] From then on, the two began to treat each other like siblings and seemed to be very close.[20] Clarissa was extremely shaken by the loss of Tristan, stating that he was an idiot who didn't think twice about risking himself for others.[21] Dante: Because of his past with Dante, Tristan refused to trust him directly since he was involved in the incident that merged Fernando and Luciano into one body. However, in his final moments with him, he was more empathetic towards Dante's presence in the investigation, unlike the first time he saw him, when he even pointed a gun at the occultist. Erin Parker: Erin was recruited by Tristan around 2019, the two were part of a team along with Luciano, Team Ember. Tristan and Erin shared the same admiration for explosions and fire. Their relationship was good and the two were good friends and trusted each other, although Erin was quite independent and didn't need as much help from her former mentor. Tristan had trouble remembering Erin's birthday, as written in his diary.[22] Fernando/Luciano Carvalho: Luciano was a member of the Order on the same team as Tristan, and after the events that united the two into one body, he and Erin Parker trained Fernando to become an agent. Joui Jouki: Even though they weren't very close, it was clear that Tristan cared about Joui and treated him well, just as he did with all his teammates and acquaintances in the Order. Kaiser: Just as he had done with Arthur, Tristan took it upon himself to tell Kaiser that he looked handsome with his scars on his face, even recording it in his diary as a reminder to always tell him that he looked handsome that way and that the scars could get worse.[23] He treated him well and even volunteered to play games with him if the hacker wanted to. Mr. Veríssimo: Tristan greatly admired Veríssimo and had been trained by him since he was young. On his first mission, after Tristan risked his life to save his companion, Mr. Veríssimo gave him his favorite coat, symbolizing the trust he had in the young man.[8] Veríssimo had a great fondness for him and trusted his abilities both as a veteran agent and as a recruiter for the Order.
