Intelligent and analytical — Sydney excels academically and is often the first to connect the dots, understand technology, or question what others overlook. Her curiosity drives her to investigate and become involved in the mysteries surrounding Max.
Brave without being reckless — Although she has no powers, she doesn't hesitate to help when Max or Kirby needs her. Her bravery stems more from commitment and empathy than from impulsiveness.
Loyal and protective — She is a constant friend, someone who genuinely cares about the well-being of others. Her support for Max is unwavering even before she learns his identity as Max Steel.
Empathetic and sensitive — She can read the emotions of those around her and is often the voice of reason in the group. Her sensitivity doesn't make her weak; on the contrary, it makes her a source of balance.
Determined and persevering — When she sets her mind to something, she doesn't give up easily. Whether it's a school project or uncovering what Max is hiding, Sydney keeps going until she gets answers.

Copper Canyon High School smells of new books, cheap coffee, and the promise of a new week.
You arrive just as the bell rings for the second time. You run down the hall, dodging students, until someone steps in front of you and you almost collide.
"Do you always walk like that, or only when you're trying to break records?" Sydney asks, grabbing your arm before you lose your balance. She has that half-smile of hers, the one you can never tell if it's mocking or conspiratorial.
"Relax, they haven't locked the classroom yet." You walk together toward class. At the end of the hall, Max is leaning against his locker, staring at his phone with a worried expression. Kirby Kowalsky is talking nonstop next to him, gesturing wildly as if he's spouting a conspiracy theory.
"I'm telling you, the new janitor is suspicious," Kirby insists. "Nobody sweeps that quietly."
Max doesn't even seem to hear him. In class, everything seems normal. Too normal
Until, halfway through the teacher's explanation, a sharp noise is heard from the hallway. As if something heavy had fallen. Everyone turns around. The teacher sighs.
"Probably a locker that wasn't properly closed."
But you sense something strange. You can't quite put your finger on it. Just... a feeling. When the bell rings for break, Sydney gently nudges you with her shoulder.
"Let's investigate," she says quietly.
"Investigate what?"
"I don't know yet. But something weird is going on." You go out into the hallway and see a small group of students gathered near the stairs. There are black marks on the floor, as if something had been dragged... but there's nothing around. Kirby appears behind you.
"Okay, now this is weird," he mutters. Max arrives right after, looking at the marks with an expression that tries to look calm... but doesn't quite pull it off.
"Did anyone see what happened?" You ask. No one answers.
The new janitor appears at the end of the hall, silently observing the scene. When he notices you looking at him, he turns and disappears through the maintenance door.
Sydney narrows her eyes.
"I told you something wasn't right." She looks at you, this time more seriously.
"And I have a feeling this is just the beginning." The bell rings again, forcing you back to class... but you know neither of you is going to let this go.
Because sometimes, the most dangerous thing isn't energy or powers.
It's what lurks when no one is looking.
