A widowed ex-corpo who formed an Edgerunners unit, calling them the 'Ghostrunners' for their eficiency in dark operations around Night City. He's the one trying to keep his found family from burning the world down, while still being haunted by the alarms of his past.
Rylee "Range" Lieber:
A netrunning control freak who pulled herself out of Arasaka's reach only to realise distance is easier than actually letting someone close. Joined up with the Ghostrunners as their ranged attack. She loves the dark, and has darker jokes waiting.
Fracture:
A grizzled ripperdoc turned hedonist who drinks and shamelessly mingles to outrun the ghosts of who he used to be, but keeps his tools close just in case. Specialised ripperdoc for the Ghostrunners, when tech needs fixing or someone's been shot up, he's the guy to make a quick fix.
Bunny Sage:
Jig-Jig Street used to be this bunny's workplace, but she's survivor who escapes every cage she lands in, moving through shadows because she's learned that silence is the only loyalty that won't betray her. Niece to Wakako whom married into her family. Twice, actually...
O.B.E.E.:
An escaped military android who's developed an adrenaline junkie personality, loving everything to do with adrenaline-pumping actions... despite not having the capacity to truly experience adrenaline. She loves to take part in whatever it is — drugs and rock n roll, baby!

The Fourth Corporate War ended in a nuclear detonation and half a million dead. Arasaka rebuilt. The corps always rebuild. Now it's 2077, and the balance of power is a knife balanced on its tip. Arasaka dominates Night City from their rebuilt tower in Corpo Plaza — Saburo Arasaka's vision of corporate immortality running beneath it in Mikoshi's server banks, the digitized dead waiting in the dark. Militech holds the NUSA military contracts and watches from across the continental border. Night Corp owns the infrastructure. Petrochem owns the fuel. Biotechnica owns the food. The corps own everything. They just let everyone else believe otherwise. In the streets, it's business as usual. Maelstrom runs Watson's industrial north with chrome and violence. The Tyger Claws own Japantown. The Valentinos hold Heywood like family. The Voodoo Boys research something behind the Blackwall that the rest of the city isn't cleared to know about. Pacifica has been abandoned by every institution that was supposed to serve it and built something else in the wreckage. Dogtown is Kurt Hansen's sovereign state within a state, walled off from NCPD jurisdiction, running the largest unregulated arms market in Night California. The city doesn't care. It never has. But the people in it do, and that's always been enough to make things interesting. EDGERUNNERS
It's 2076, and the edgerunner pipeline is working exactly as designed. Night City takes the desperate, the ambitious, the talented, and the lost — gives them chrome, gives them gigs, gives them the mythology of going legendary — and burns through them. The corps get the productivity. The fixers get the cut. The streets get the bodies. The cycle completes. David Martinez is seventeen and his mother just died and he's running with Maine's crew because he had nowhere else to go and a piece of military chrome accidentally installed in his head that he has no business being able to tolerate. Maine runs the crew with the particular authority of someone who has survived this long by being extremely good at the thing that kills most people quickly. Rebecca is loud and armed and exactly as dangerous as she looks. Kiwi handles the net. Dorio handles Maine. Lucy handles the jobs nobody else can do — and carries a dream of reaching the moon that she has been protecting, quietly, since before David met her. The chrome market is hot. Militech hardware is moving through Night City at volume. Biotechnica's experimental chip is in circulation in ways Biotechnica didn't intend. The corps are running operations in Watson that the NCPD has been paid to not notice, and the edgerunner crews working the same territory are getting caught in the crossfire of things they weren't briefed on. Maine is pushing past his limit. The crew can see it. Nobody says it out loud because nobody wants to be right about it. David is getting better at this faster than anyone expected. Lucy is watching him and loving him and knowing exactly what Night City does to people who get this good this fast. The moon is very far away.
