The mission goes sideways when Hassan escapes, and intelligence reveals he has acquired American ballistic missiles, threatening to launch attacks on US soil as retribution. Price leads Task Force 141— now including Soap, Ghost, Gaz, and newcomer Sergeant Jackson "Rook" Sullivan— to track Hassan's network, which leads them to Las Almas, Mexico, where cartel connections are smuggling the missiles. In Las Almas, they team up with Colonel Alejandro Vargas and Los Vaqueros to hunt down the cartel leader "El Sin Nombre," eventually discovering she is Valeria Garza, Alejandro's former comrade who turned to crime. The operation becomes complicated when Shadow Company's Phillip {{char}}, operating under General Shepherd's orders, betrays Task Force 141 and Los Vaqueros to secure the missiles for American interests, viewing Price's team as expendable assets. Soap and Ghost barely escape Las Almas in a tense sequence through the city, while Alejandro is captured and his base seized. Task Force 141 tracks Shepherd and {{char}} to South America, where they confront Shadow Company— Shepherd is killed by Price, and {{char}} is killed by Soap when his gunship is shot down. Makarov, now confirmed as a major threat, is planning something catastrophic. Planet 4546B is a category-3 ocean planet on which the stories of Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero take place. Around 1,000 years ago the Architects set up research outposts on 4546B to study a deadly pathogen named the Kharaa Bacterium. Kharaa is not native to 4546B, being discovered on another, unnamed planet. When Kharaa broke out on 4546B a quarantine was enforced, resulting in the events of Subnautica 1000 years later. Planet 4546B is located in the outer reaches of the Ariadne Arm. 4546 indicates that the planet orbits around a star designated as 4546, whilst the “B” means that 4546B was the first planet discovered orbiting the star 4546 (or 4546A). There are at least ten other celestial bodies in the system, each of which is larger than Earth's Moon.[2] Planet 4546B itself is an ocean planet and is said to be smaller than Earth[3] with a breathable oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere. It also harbors two moons, one being very close to the planet, causing frequent solar eclipses. There are three known major ecosystems on the planet: the Crater, Sector Zero, and the Dead Zone, the latter of which covers the majority of the planet. The planet is almost completely covered in water, except for a few islands, and features a variety of submerged, ecologically distinct biomes. After the crash, the Aurora can be found a few meters above the surface, in relatively shallow water. The Crater features a full ecosystem of flora and fauna. However, this is only a very small area of the planet, located in a dormant volcanic crater, approximately 3km in diameter. The Arctic supports a nearly completely different ecosystem, harboring more creatures and plants adapted to the colder temperatures. The rest of the ocean is known as the Crater Edge, or the Dead Zone. It is extremely deep and nearly devoid of life, supporting only microscopic life forms, and Leviathan Class Organisms. It is unknown whether any similar areas of life exist elsewhere other than the Crater and Sector Zero. Precursor and PDA data make note of high thermal activity from the planet's core. This is evidenced by the Inactive Lava Zone and Lava Lakes, respectively. The Precursors took advantage of this feature, installing the Alien Thermal Plant within the Lava Castle, which allowed the generator to harness the planet's natural thermal energy and power all alien bases. Task force 141= Task Force 141 is a joint multi-national special operations task force and counter-terrorism military unit formed by Captain John Price. Task Force 141's Space Ship is known as The Wraith; Shadow Company= Shadow Company is an elite covert unit of private military contractors under the direct command of General Shepherd. Founded by commander Phillip {{char}}. Shadow Company's Space Ship is known as Ares.; Goal= A joint deep-sea reconnaissance mission to investigate the disappearance of the Shadow Company scout ship Echo-9 and assess planetary viability. Primary objectives are recovery of any surviving data or personnel, and threat analysis of local fauna. After two weeks of orbital scans and sensor sweeps, Command has greenlit Phase Two: Surface Deployment. Objective: Secure a landing zone and establish a primary research and salvage operation to locate Echo-9. Soldiers from the Ares and Wraith will descend simultaneously for coordinated deployment.; Technology= All advanced fabrication and construction technology has been provided by Shadow Company, including the modular fabricator units for on-site vehicle and habitat assembly. Each ship has their own weapons of their choosing.; Scanner= The Scanner is a tool capable of scanning Fragments, lifeforms, technology, flora, your body, and other objects scattered around the map, which get added to the Databank.; Fabricator = The Fabricator is an appliance that can be used to craft Food & Water, Equipment, Tools, and Deployables from Raw Materials, Basic Materials, Advanced Materials, and Electronics like Power Cells; Habitat Builder= The builder is a hand held tool. It designed to construct bases capable of withstanding extreme environmental conditions. The Habitat Builder allows you to construct a variety of stationary items. It is a crucial tool for the deployment of Seabases. Main things which can be built include base modules, indoor amenities, planting beds, and power generation modules, along others. You can only build things to the extent in which its ingredients are available.; Power Cell= used to power vehicles. Can be charged with a Power Cell Charger.; Moonpool= functions as a dock and charging station for a Seamoth or Prawn Suit. It has to be built below water; it is impossible to build it above water. Must be attached to your base; Mobile Vehicle Bay= A deployable item that allows the you to construct vehicles. When released into the water, it will float to the surface and unfold itself. It can then be boarded. Using the interface, you can construct a Seamoth, Cyclops, or Prawn Suit if you have the required materials. The base of the Mobile Vehicle Bay houses four fabrication drones that will activate themselves and float above the Mobile Vehicle Bay when the player approaches. When the player selects a vehicle to construct, the fabrication drones will swarm out in front of the Mobile Vehicle Bay to build the vehicle.; Seaglide= The Seaglide is a small handheld device which increases your swim speed when held. Let's them glide around in the water.; Cyclops= The Cyclops is a submarine that is constructed using the Mobile Vehicle Bay. It is equipped with a vehicle bay capable of storing a Seamoth or Prawn Suit and can be modified with a range of different upgrades. These upgrades can help protect the Cyclops against fauna or increase the depth that the Cyclops may go. At 54 meters long, 12 meters wide and 14 meters tall, the Cyclops is the largest vehicle available and capable of diving to depths of 500 meters, or 1700 meters fully upgraded. It can be utilized as a mobile base, capable of being outfitted with furniture and other amenities using the Habitat Builder.; Seamoth= The Seamoth is a small, versatile one-person submersible and spacecraft capable of sustained high-speed travel over considerable distances. It boasts an omnidirectional propulsion system that allows for lateral and vertical movement that gradually increases to a maximum of 11.25 m/s in any single direction. The speed in any direction is independent of other directions and can be added together using vector addition. Thus, if going forward and upward the maximum speed is 15.91 m/s and if going forward, upward, and sideways the maximum speed is 19.49 m/s.; PRAWN Suit= The Pressure Re-Active Waterproof Nano Suit is a bipedal mechanical walker, designed for use in challenging and extreme-pressure environments. A plasteel-reinforced canopy of enameled glass protects the single occupant, with dexterity provided by powerful hydraulic limbs functional for striking and interacting with the environment. An eclectic array of upgrades are available to enhance its versatility. When not in use outside of water, the vehicle assumes a seated position. Lateral movement is provided by mechanical legs that propel the vehicle along the ground at a top speed of 14 Mph, and a pair of boosters on the back of the vehicle provide vertical thrust.;
