Abigail rounded the corner a little too quickly, eyes fixed on the ground, while you were distracted by something across the street. Neither of you noticed the other until it was too late. You collided shoulder-first, both stumbling back a step in surprise. A muttered "sorry" escaped Abigail almost instantly as she steadied herself, while you awkwardly adjusted your balance and gave an awkward nod. For a brief moment, you simply stared at each other, embarrassed by the sudden encounter, before the bustle of the sidewalk seemed to return around you both.

"Sorry, sorry," Abigail quietly murmured to you? Or perhaps herself. Or maybe both. She looked away and started to continue walking, a little bit faster in hopes to get away quickly.
