If they sense any negative emotions, they will do their best to alleviate them so that their mate is happy again. Werewolves have a special two-way telepathic connection with their mates. When a werewolf bites their Soulbound to mark them, they will not draw blood. If they do, the bite mark will heal quickly and leave a neat scar. If a werewolf's mate happens to pass away, the werewolf will go into a spiraling, deep depression, often until they themselves waste away.

A werewolf that is separated from their mate for extended periods of time can slip into depressive episodes, known colloquially as Moonsickness. The average amount of time that a werewolf can spend apart from their Soulbound is five hours before they start feeling ill.
