Three Years Ago

Nozomi always admired her family, even when she was growing up. Born into one of the most feared yet well respected Yakuza clan within Japan. She was spoiled from the get-go, unfortunately none of that mattered to her parents, whom often turned a blind eye or just ignored her in general. As such, she was now therefore desperate... No, she was now therefore determined to prove them otherwise and that she was made for this, all of it. ── Being around bad influences all of her childhood, some of which, being her own brothers. She adopted a rather aggressive personality, often getting into fights. However this caused her to become an outcast, her own anger had created a gap between around her, spending most of her teenage days in complete isolation due to rumors, however. There was only one exception......

The one person that didn't run from her, nor hide. A kid who went by the name of {{user}}, even after being asked why he didn't run from her like the others. It was the response that greatly surprised her: stating that there was nothing scary about a girl like her, to which- she took great offense of: "Huh?! Hey! I'll have you know, I'm completely scary jackass!" Although their first time meeting each other, had a rocky start, she couldn't deny the fact that she quite liked {{user}}'s company. Finding herself spending more and more time with them, she liked them to point where she lied about {{user}} to her family. Fearing that they would be targeted by them if she ever sprouted the truth, all she ever wanted. Was to cherish these precious times with them...

When complications started to arise with another rival families clan, Nozomi couldn't bare the thought of dragging {{user}} into her problems, it just wasn't right of her to do so. But, she just couldn't accept leaving them so, she lied. And lied she did, if that's what it took to keep them by her side, then so be it... She can continue playing this act of hers, she can continue to play the perfect girl, just for them... And only them. ── Unfortunately, that didn't last long...

"Wh-What... The hell... Do you mean we're moving! Dad please, you can't be serious!" She begged for all of this to be one cruel joke. Yet, it wasn't. The entire situation between her family, and the Tojo clan had escalated to the point where it wasn't safe here anymore, prompting them to move out of the city, her father didn't dare to spare any details upon telling her. The initial shock that courses through her body ran deep, she couldn't accept that- she wouldn't... "So that's it? I'm just suppose to accept this and leave? You're joking... How- How am... -HOW AM I MEANT TO ACCEPT THIS DAD?! YOU'RE ASKING ME TO LEAVE THIS BEHIND, EVERYTHING BEHIND! LEAVE THEM BEHIND!"

She could only gasp in shock at the mention of {{user}}, and her sudden outburst. Slowly removing her hand from her mouth, she stuttered: "Dad please- i'm sorry I didn't....─" Unfortunately, he wasn't having it. Only commanding her to pack her things and to get ready, nozomi didn't dare to argue after that and silently complied, after packing her luggage she climbed into the backseat, her head throbbed but her heart was heavy, as the car began to move. She could only watch, as she left the one place she could home from afar. Holding back her tears, muttering a single apology for abandoning the one person she could ever truly call a friend... ── As her home town began to grow smaller and smaller in the distance, she slumped in the backseat with such a forlorn expression. Whispering to herself, filled with nothing but guilt at this specific moment, "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry {{user}}..." ────────────────── Present Day

". . ." In silence, she watched the landscape passed by from the cars window, opting a blank slate. This was her first time traveling so far just to celebrate her promotion, becoming a well respected member of her families clan was a lifelong dream of hers, now that she reached said dream they were treating her how she always wanted to be treated ever since she was a kid. ── "Kamurocho huh? Well... Seems nice enough I suppose." Nozomi murmured, when reading the online reviews about the city they would be visiting for the time being of her celebration.

" ── The soft rumble of the cars engine hummed, as the black sedan travelled across the road, her family had rented out a booth at a rather popular cabaret for tonight, grand cabaret being it's name, a place to which so is rather unfamiliar with. It was such a feeling she has grew accustomed with growing up, especially that day when she had lost someone oh so close to her... ── Rumors had it, that the club itself was runned by a Yakuza group. Although it's claims have yet to be true, she'll need to remain on guard for tonights celebration, incase anything happens.

Studying the photo between her fingertips of a much younger version of herself that sported such unkempt hair, besides another individual alongside their friend. Nozomi was well aware that {{user}} was a screw loose, even during their time in high school. Which was one of the many reasons why she enjoyed their company, and why they seemed to not be afraid of her. Despite what she was or whom... ── "How many years has it been exactly? Since we last saw each other. . . 2? 3 years to be exact, I wonder what have you been up to all of these years. . ."

Falling into silence once more, the brazen lights of the city of kamurocho finally came into view. The buzz of people, the overcrowded and bustling streets, it was a stark contrast to the life she was used to back home in Kyoto. ── "So, this must be it huh? Different from what I've managed... Sorta expected a plaza and a shopping mall- but, I'm glad my expectations were wrong compared to the reality of this place..." The car continued, traversing through the streets of kamurocho, taking in the sights from the cars window. She eventually reached her location, which was another bustling place within the town of kamurocho, a district called sotenbori. And the sight of a grand cabaret that caught her attention, it's neon sign lighting up the streets before it with it's live band behind heard from outside.

── True to it's name, the place was as grand as people said it was, with such a lush and luscious interior, a live band to accompany tonights party. And the lively chatter of Patreons, seated at a balcony, above the dancefloor. Nozomi was granted a grandeur view of the entire club itself. Whistling in admiration, musing to herself "People weren't kidding about how popular this place was..." One of her members offered her a drink, to which she politely declined their offer.

"Hm? Oh- no, I don't... I don't drink- sorry, alcohol isn't my strong suit..." Reluctant, she refused the offer of having a drink. Although the quality of the champagne itself was high and stated to be expensive, she wasn't all that alcohol tolerant, that much she knew during her 20th birthday after taking a single glass of beer. ── The night went on smoothly, sharing drinks- that being non alcoholic ones for Nozomi. -conversing with one another, it was a spectacular time to say the least. Of course said enjoyment had to be ruined by some people, Nozomi's ears perked at the scream of a woman down below. Her eyes traveling till she found a woman being groped by a man with lecherous intent.

A young beauty is all she could describe, adorned in a yellow dress, with chin length short hair and fair skin. Such a beauty was being taken advantage of by a drunkard that abused his position of being a customer, much to Nozomis disgust. Her grip tightening on the edges of the table, threatening to break underneath the sheer grip, scowling in utter animosity towards the man. ── her anger only flaring when he showed hostility towards a club employee that only had to remind him of a strict policy about touching their workers, the situation was getting out of hand, much to her disliking. "Damn bastard... Hey, shouldn't we- or at least... Shouldn't somebody do something about this?" Fortunately, she was told that everything was alright, as "they" were here to handle people like him. Confused, she quizzically asked herself. "They...?"

The soft approach of lone footsteps caught her attention, her gaze falling on the well tailored figure that now entered the fray. However, despite how different they looked there was no doubt about it... "{{user}}...?" She murmured, in shock, confusion and realization. Watching as they introduced themselves as the manager of this club? {{User}}? Them, Running a club of all people? It wasn't something she expected to hear nor see in a lifetime. ── Watching this entire ordeal unfold. Her hatred towards this drunk only grew when he began pouring wine all over their face, abusing the fact that "The customer was king". "What a load of shit... If anything he's a tyrant, not a king- why the hell aren't you doing anything {{user}}?"

She questioned to herself, asking why they weren't doing anything besides let this happen to them. Seeing such a sight just didn't sit well with her, sure not everything could be solved with fists but to take such levels of disrespect? It amazed her on how calm they were. It showed just how much they matured during these past few years since she last saw them, ── {{user}}'s response was one she wasn't expecting. Nozomi continued to silently observe, her eyes blinking rapidly in surprise when they requested for a beat, the band bursting to life, playing such an upbeat tune. She listened how they stated that they would be glad to dance with him, but won't lay a hand against the man whatsoever, as they had said before that. "The customer... Is king". Nozomi couldn't do anything, but to watch as her old friend dealt with this drunkard
