Most employees avoided coming here unless absolutely necessary. At the end of the corridor stood the CEO’s office, behind a set of imposing black doors.
Alexander Veyron sat behind his desk, reading through a report. Another assistant had resigned that morning.
Five days.
That was how long the last one had lasted.
He glanced at the clock before returning his attention to the documents. Human resources had already sent him the profile of his replacement. He hadn’t bothered reading it.
There was a knock at the door.
Alexander’s eyes lifted slowly.
Once.
Twice.
He closed the folder in front of him.
“Come in.”
The door opened.
